Overview

In the centre of the old town near the tourist quarter and the museum, the Best Western De Diane, Nevers, France, is a characterful hotel set in an 18th-century building, with courteous service and a calm, restful atmosphere. The rooms come with a television, a kettle, and a hairdryer, with an accessible room available, and the quiet, central setting makes an easy place to settle into the heart of Nevers, a moment from the shops, the museum, and the squares of the old town and a short walk from the ducal palace. Nevers rises above the Loire where it meets the Nievre, a city of ducal palaces and the delicate blue-and-white Nevers faience, with the basilica of Saint-Bernadette, the ramparts, and the riverside quays all close, and the vineyards of Pouilly and Sancerre a short drive on. The old town climbs gently from the Loire, quiet and unhurried, just outside.
