Pros: This hotel was in a great location , very central to restaurants / pubs. Our room had a view over the square we had air-con and a really nice bathroom with a waterfall shower which was a bonus. There was a pool on the top of the hotel which was cold but once your in it was lovely. We had breakfast included in our stay it was ok. We ate at the restaurant out the front of the hotel which had lovely food - but we had to pay. We didn't mind.

Cons: The hotel could be better signposted when you arrive the taxi dropped us off in an underground carpark - it was dark and wasn't sure where to go, a few signs telling people where the hotel entrance was would be no harm.

Pros: The staff were so approachable, friendly, helpful and always went out of their way to help you. The cleaners were very smiley and always said hello.. I like that

Pros: Breakfast was excellent. Location was perfect for food and the beach! Staff was super nice. Would certainly recommend the hotel stay for others.

Cons: Double bed was just two twin beds pushed together. Would have preferred a real double bed. Air conditioner was set on 22 Celsius, and was set up so it couldn’t be adjusted.

Cons: We spent 5 nights and not a single night i couldnt get enough sleep because the other guests of the hotel were very noisy at some part of the night. The walls are made of paper.

Cons: The only bad point was that there were only seven sun beds and a few chairs which was really inadequate for the number of guests, and the hotel was full for most of our stay.

Cons: To say I didn’t like anything would be very picky! The room was on the small side but it was the ‘standard’ room. Suspect the other rooms are bigger. Entertainment aimed at older audience and not for us but nothing wrong with it!

Cons: I would most definitely return to this hotel in fact it was my second stay. Just a few minor improvements needed the aircon was a little under power and the shower drain in our room, 308 was clearing very slowly resulting in the bathroom floor flooding. It took quite a while to drain which meant it took the two of us longer to shower. We did report this to reception.

Pros: Hotel was fabulous. The Hotel offered many nice touches which I have not seen in other hotels. The mini bar was provided with all items only €1. It was refreshing to see that the policy of not leaving towels on sun loungers was enforced. Breakfast was fabulous and staff were very friendly

Cons: It was not in an ideal location personally as it was quite an uphill walk to the Hotel from the town but the Hotel cannot be faulted for this. If you are going to the Hotel, consider if you enjoy walking up and down hills if you intend to frequent the town. If you are going to stay mainly in the Hotel, then this is an excellent choice for you. A couple extra sunbeds around the pool would be nice (especially at the weekend)

Pros: Breakfast was excellent. Revamped room comfy and clean.

Cons: We were in a standard room which is 15m square. There was very little room around the bed and my husband and I had to keep getting out of the way of each other. I would definitely stay again but pay a bit more for a larger room. We were only there 2 nights so it was manageable.

Pros: Lovely accommodation with a nice adequate breakfast. Beds very comfortable and rooms lovely and clean. Also in a very good location. Nerja is beautiful with plenty of sights to see and things to do nearby. So would definitely recommend

Cons: Would have preferred an earlier breakfast as 9.30am -11.30 is a little late especially when our party planned to go on trips. Studio flat was a bit overpriced I felt as we didn’t get any housekeeping at all over the 3 nights we were there. Not a big problem as we are both fit and able to clean up after ourselves but would have been nice to have been informed this was part of having a studio flat plus it was up quite a few flights of stairs of which we weren’t aware of until we got there. Double rooms shared by our sisters were nice but quite small with no view at all though clean and comfortable.

Pros: The room was more modern than expected, beach towels were provided upon request and it was the perfect location. Within five to ten minutes of all beaches, restaurants, bars and shops. Would definitely recommend. The staff were really lovely and very accommodating.

Cons: There was nothing we didn't like about the accommodation or location.

Pros: Is in a fantastic location on a pedestrian only street just a few minutes walk from bars, restaurants, shops etc. Room was smaller than some we stayed in but adequate for our 2 night stay. Choice at breakfast is limited (basic continental) but more than adequate for a short stay. We got in a muddle on arrival and couldn't access the property but that was our fault. Reception is in a separate building and there is an arrow pointing you in the right direction. But it is on the opposite side of the road (the clue is is it has an odd number whilst the hostal has an even number!). Lady in reception was very helpful. There is a big car park 2 minutes walk away but like most car parks in Spain is quite expensive. She directed us to a free one about 15 minutes walk away. She also told us about the Pulguilla restaurant just 1 minutes walk away. Very popular, casual and lively it serves great fish dishes - highly recommended.

Pros: I liked everything. I can't believe it's only a 2*. Very clean, very friendly, great room, great location, etc, etc. Loved the little cafe underneath, very Spanish. Pool great, It was fabulous and I never thought i'd ever say that about a 2* hotel. I would 100% recommend and 100% go back.

Cons: They gave us a room by the reception on the ground floor and it was very noisy, it was a triple room so I had to sleep on a small bed as the two beds the double and the single were together ( on my reservation I’ve asked double room )on top of that the room smelled so much cigarette that we felt uncomfortable. It was obvious that there was someone smoking but when we complained they said that there was nothing they could do , they state themselves as a non smoke property, therefore I would expect them to ensure that others guest won’t smoke on their bedrooms. Very disappointed , will I go back? No

Cons: Only 2 small things, no cushions for the sofa and the kettle needs to be replaced. Took ages to boil and is a cheap model.

Cons: The room is very small no wardrobes just a open unit to hang clothes on with a small draw plus one small draw beside the bed.The bathroom again small no facilities to put your makeup or toilet utensils on so looks clutter all the time. Shower gel was in the room the day we arrived then it was never replaced. Fortunately we brought shower gel with us. I emailed booking.com to tell them about this stay, and I spoke to the manager about the room and how it maybe fine for 2/3 days but definitely not for 14 days. He nodded and agreed. We were offered a family room but would have been charged more although he didn’t say how much more. It stated that a safe was in the room but it did not have one also it said a roof terrace again it did not have one and the garden was untidy and like a workers part of the Hostal to hang washing out. The seating needed cleaning and one of the sun loungers was broken so all in all you would not use the garden. The managers wife spoke to me on Wednesday offering us another room for no extra cost I agreed to this but told her we were going to see friends for two days so we would change on Friday when we got back but when we did return it was not mentioned by anybody . So we stayed in the same pokey room. I follow up on all reviews and that was why I picked this but I will review on trip advisor and suggest 3 day stay as a maximum stay. If you check your emails from me you will see how often in that first week I sent them to you. Price wise it was very expensive especially with no facilities available. In fact by paying for breakfast every day and then having to pay for a sun lounger when we went to beach because of a lack of facilities at the Hostal it cost us an extra 168 euros for breakfast plus 112 rotoscoped for beds on the beach. The hotel that I usually stay in which is far far superior that Hostal Abril was 50 euros more for a 14 day stay which included breakfast plus roof terrace with pool and sun loungers.

Pros: We arrived early and were given a small apartment a block and a half away in a different building instead of a room at the hostal. We were told not to use the kitchen which was fine since we didn't plan on cooking. The apartment was very clean and nicely furnished. The location was in a quiet area of Nerja and very well located.
