The hotel’s best asset is the pool...pools. There are several pools, some of which are interconnected with each other. They’re really nice! We arrived just before the big holiday rush, so we were able to enjoy the pools without lots of people around us. We enjoyed the free umbrella and chairs on the beach too! The property is not too far from nice restaurants if you walk to enjoy an evening walk before or after dinner—we did! There’s also a handcraft market in that same area. The hotel has a good view of Morro do Careca.
The only down side was the size of the beach in front of the hotel. It’s small. You can only enjoy the beach in the morning because when the tide comes in around midday, there is no more space for chairs!
Facilities and location. Instalações e localização.
There’s no way you could park your car outside the hotel (remote location). So the parking fee is almost compusory.
the hotel rooms are very old and in need of refurbishment
I rented a bungalow and was given one in the first row along the sea with an amazing view. The location was great... just far enough from the other hotels to feel quiet, but close enough to be only a short ride from many restaurants. The bed was reasonably comfortable. The rate was very reasonable, although it was slightly off season.
The bathroom was a bit small and in need of some repair. The sink was tiny and the faucet was loose. The handle in the tub would fall off and you couldn't turn on the shower without getting soaked in the process. The tub was also very high and a bit difficult to step in and out of. There was a ledge around the tub that did not drain and filled up with water.
The rooms are big and spacious. The swimming pool area is really nice. The beach down the hotel is pretty too, but due to the tides it’s only available from 9 am to 1 pm, then it’s Pool time. The hotel gives you a beach towel and everything you need for it. The breakfast has a lot of options. I don’t believe full board is worth it though. Le Soleil restaurant is really good, but the rest it’s just average. Both the waiters and the cleaning personnel are so helpful and nice. When it comes to solving problems, the receptionist was not that much.
We bought full board, when we got there we found out we had to pay for the drinks. Some of the prices are: water, coke (5 reais), beer (10/15 reais), wine (over 60 reais). We had a lot of problems to pay in advance with different cards, all of them were available for the payment, but the hotel keep on cancelling our reservation due to this. It was really annoying to have to book 10 times the same room.
