We were given a room with a small side room attached. Of course, this was an upgrade that we very much appreciated since we were traveling with a child. Also the breakfast was fantastic. There was so much variety and it was a wonderful start to the day. The location was excellent too. There is a popular bakery nearby.
There’s not much to not like. But being with a child, one of the art pieces was a little too nude-y perhaps. Also the cost was likely the most we have ever paid for a room, but it is Oktoberfest and we were even upgraded. So I don’t feel bad. At all.
I was very pleasantly surprised by the manager who thoughtfully provided gluten free bread on my second day there. I mentioned my intolerance in passing to the waitress the day before and she must have informed him. It's always the little things that really show the true colours of service.
Nothing jumps out at me. The decor is a little traditional and that works just fine for me.
Front desk staff extremely nice and helpful...recommending restaurants, booking dinner reservations, giving directions, helping with train schedules!! Breakfast staff also very attentive.
Street noise was very loud with smoke from people smoking cigarettes coming into windows when open.
Upon arrival we were not impressed at all, but first impressions are not always correct. Staff was very polite, courteous, and helpful. Room was exceptionally clean and warm, bed comfortable and warm; shower was a bit different but we got used to it (shower curtain rod could use a center brace as it sagged a bit) and the water was always hot. Location was great, about an eight minute walk to Marienplatz, got directions and recommendations to a couple very good local cuisine restaurants. Hotel is older but has been very well maintained and there is a sense of pride in the staff - always a pleasure to see.
It was an excellent location in Munich, in the lovely Glockenbach area. There were lots of cafes and restaurants right along the street. There was a bar across the road with a lovely beer garden. It had the friendliest staff I have ever encountered in a hotel. They were so happy and willing to help with anything you needed or wanted to know about Munich. The location was an easy walk into the old town.
Rooms aren't air-conditioned.

A 5-minute walk takes you to Fraunhoferstraße Underground Station. Trains run directly to Munich Trade Fair from here.
