Traditional Moroccan Riad with good breakfast
Poor location situated in a remote spot where local men try to rip you off to when you try to find the property and then won’t let you close the door of the Riad to get rid of them which was off putting at night but even in the daytime the area was very undesirable with dead end alleyways with homeless people and stray cats due to dirty streets. Be careful when you are walking through this part of the north Medina. I have travelled to Marrakech previously and not experienced anything like this in 4 separate visits to the city. We had booked for 4 nights but decided to move out after just 1 night!!! Need I say more!?!
The staff are friendly, and helpful when you need something.
This riad not hotel is very average. After reading the reviews of this hotel I thought it would be better than average and that is the reason I booked this. The city centre is 25 mins walk not 0.6 miles as advertised. The ‘pool’ was never shown to us and the reason I booked this hotel was for the pool. I never got the chance to ask them about the pool because we were too busy exploring. I was in room 3 and everything in our room could be heard downstairs by the staff. The tv was never switched on. Staff were friendly but only helped when you asked them, one advice I got was use google maps offline. I was trying to find a gate near the hotel and the least they could have done was direct me to to the gate as we were already running late. The tax I paid at the end of my trip was unexpected, luckily I had extra dirhams with me! I could not have spend more than the night at the hotel, we were out during the day. I spent 8 nights there. It is a very basic hotel, even the breakfast I got bored after 2 days. And the start of the hotel they give you mint tea but I had to ask where is my room because they were too busy being over friendly rather than showing me my room as I was exhausted. There is a lot to learn with these guys, luckily never again for me. And I wish people would be more honest in terms of reviews.
The riad was very clean. we were welcomed by Khalil a very nice and helpful host.
