Pros: The staff was super helpful and inviting, they all took a lot of time to greet and chat with us. The facilities were really clean and new, the beds in the rooms were perfect and the breakfast buffet had a good variety. The pool wasn’t busy and had lots of chairs.
Cons: There was some construction but we barely heard it.
Pros: Chief of dining staff was excellent. He went out of his way to make everything special. I believe his name was Boq, wonderful person!
Pros: Location is out of the centre but the shuttle is well organised. Facilities are great but the hotel is getting outdated in some areas. Staff and breakfast are great. Great after a busy day. Highly recommended.
Cons: Need to finish all the renovations.
Pros: door is old, many kinds of small flying animals outside, can't open door and window. checkin staff don't working good
Cons: garden view
Pros: The property was very modern and comfortable, the staff were helpful and while renovations were ongoing we received complimentary daily high tea which was very lovely.
A stay at Nak Nakara Hotel places you in the heart of Chiang Rai, within a 15-minute walk of Wat Pra Singh and Wat Phra Kaew. Featured amenities include a computer station, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Everything was wonderfull, since we arrived they were friendly, room were beautiful , clean. Wonderful pillow, Great food.
Pros: Very attentive and pleasant staff whoose standard of service ought to be a benchmark for other hotels. I was pleasantly surprised when I sat by the pool and was brought a tray table with snacks, fruit and water. Soft drinks and snacks in the room are included at no extra charge. The room was generously proportioned and immaculately clean. I particularly liked the hand crafted wood traditional style paneling. The hotel offers a good range of well tailored tours, that all seem moderately priced. They organised a car and driver to take me to the Lao border at a very reasonable price for the two hour journey and the driver's return to Chiang Rai. The first time I was in Chiang Rai the tuk tuk dropped me off a Nak Nakara in error, I looked around and thought I'd much prefer to stay here than where I was booked (that hotel was also pretty good, but just not in the same league) . This time l made sure to book at Nak Nakara and was very glad I did. Should I stay in Chiang Rai again this will be my hotel of choice.
Cons: If I wanted to find anything that could improve it would only be the restaurant that needs a good look at by the management. The staff, decor and ambiance are great but the actual food needs improvement to match what's on offer by the rest of the hotel. I say this as someone who worked in the restaurant industry for about 45 years.
Pros: Nice pool
Cons: Mediocre breakfast
Pros: The attitude of staff. They try harder.
Cons: Ants in room
Pros: The service was excellent. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. We were greeted with a cold drink and a treat to eat. This type of service continued throughout our short stay. The room was great, exceptionally clean, bed very comfortable. The pool was an added bonus. There was a big variety of choice for breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel.

Pros: You can see signs of age at a lot of the places within the resort. The rooms clean. The resort is located close to the famous Blue Temple and popular bistro/cafe Chivit Thamma Da Coffee House.
Cons: Nothing. But nothing exceptional about the resort.
Pros: Breakfast was great, the staff were very friendly and there was a free shuttle bus twice nightly both to and from the night market! (A very good night market! Lots of variety and few pushy vendors!) The blue temple is very close.
Cons: The bed was a little on the hard side!
Pros: The staff are very helpful. The hotel itself is excellent.
Pros: Close to airport, free shuttle provided. Next to Blue temple. Quiet resort.
Cons: It’s a boutique resort so while you can enjoy a quiet stay, don’t expect to have lots of outdoor facilities there. Very few restaurants nearby.
Pros: Clean, location, staff, food
Cons: Everything was great
Pros: Location, beautiful property and good breakfast
When you stay at Homestay Chiang Rai in Chiang Rai, you'll be in the mountains, within a 10-minute drive of Wat Phra Kaew and Wat Pra Singh. Featured amenities include limo/town car service, dry cleaning/laundry services, and luggage storage. For a surcharge, guests may use a shuttle from the hotel to the airport at scheduled times and a cruise ship terminal shuttle.
Pros: Nice people, beautiful garden, great cooker!, everything was clean.
Cons: Little bit far from the city center. You can use shuttle, but tuk tuks makes your staying in Chiang Rai more expensive...
Pros: The host were brilliant Definately made you feel at home Very small but elegant Couldn't fault it Breakfast was great and dinner Definately recommend Definately coming back
Pros: Breakfast fine. For us location was great. Trips out were excellent. Everyone was very helpful.
Cons: Air quality was poor but did not affect our stay.
Pros: The room was clean and comfortable. We didn’t have any meals there, so we can’t comment on the quality of the food. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful, and the laundry service was good.
Pros: We really enjoyed our three day stay at this lovely property! Beautiful garden, inviting pool and wonderful host. The owner made us feel very welcome and provided lots of help and great ideas about places to visit. Helped arrange a great driver for the day which made it possible to visit a range of amazing temples. Breakfast is fabulous and I would very much recommend a stay!
Cons: A little bit outside of town. Overall this is a positive in many ways- very quiet, country feeling- but visitors need to plan to find transportation back to Homestay at the end of a city visit. Owner does arrange taxi/ transportation from the property (120 so to town, 200 back) so all feasible, but take into consideration for planning outings.
Pros: Excellent hospitality from Tony and Patti. Breakfast excellent, meals excellent. Pool very good. Quiet location, in beautiful surroundings. Rooms spacious and clean. No disturbances.
Cons: The only (slight) negative was that the aircon in the room could only be switched off by throwing the isolator on the wall. Would be better to be able to switch it off from the remote control handset.
Pros: Very friendly owners Very quiet and relaxing with a beautiful Pool area Good scooters for rent
Cons: Air conditioner blowing directly at head at night
Pros: Nice, beautiful and traditional hotel. The staff is the best! You feel really comfortable and the breakfast is amazing
Cons: It is a little bit far from the centre
Pros: The staff was very nice and accommodating. The rooms were very nice and the pool and overall area of the homestay was very nice, clean and homey. Would definitely stay there again.

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: breakfast was very good. All of the staff were excellent. I don't want to give a good review as this will only bring more people and I wont be able to get a room. LOL
Cons: The 3 percent they charge for using a debit/credit card
Pros: It's a very good resort in a calm location the rooms and toilet were Spotlessley clean
Pros: Very good cleaning stuff. Clean room, clean and well maintained garden. Lovely , nice little resort in the middle of the city. I enjoyed their bicycle fully. With bicycle it is very easy to move around in Chiang Rai. Thank you for bicycle.
Cons: I woul like if guests not park their cars in front of each room. I like quiet , and it is quiet resort . Except at last morning at 8 am they came to cutt the grass arround the property with machines...loud !!! (But has to be done ofcourse, I was unlucky that happend during my stay) Lovely little garden they have . I have enjoyed sitting there.
Pros: Cheap cold drinks at reception : water 10B, beer can 35B, cola can 15 B. They have bicycles for use for free. Simple but good bicycles. Garden is nice , many places to sit in shadow and relax, some birds, not many people used it, quiet during the day. Polited stuff (cleaning lady, reception, securrity). Clean towells, clean and white bed sheets, very nice. Big bathroom, clean, comfortable.
Cons: They serve breakfast only, I never tried one becouse I liked to sleep long. During afternoon and evening no kitchen. Guest parking the car in front of bungalovs(maybe there is not enough parking space elswhere), but I didnt like it. To listen engines of the cars in the nice, green garden.
Pros: Staff was so helpful!
Cons: It was all great!
Pros: Very comfortable beds, big showers and great air conditioning
Cons: Would have liked a pool
Pros: Good location, nice breakfast and nice guest service

Pros: Peaceful and tranquil throughout our stay. Great location by the River Kok but only a few minutes into the town. Great staff, great food and very good value for money in all respects
Cons: Nothing at all!
Pros: The SHOWER ROOM. My life will never be the same without a shower room. My husband now has a new project at home. This room blows every other hotel/air bnb/ etc out of the water. It was perfect in every way.
Cons: Need to keep more money on hand, I had difficulty exchanging money each day.
Pros: Room with pond view. Relaxed layout
Cons: Language difficulties at times with front office staff Shuttle to city only from 1800
Pros: Very spacious well kept grounds nice setting and enjoyed the pool, room was also spacious and ammenities good.
Pros: Setting along river and pool. Room was good size and nice shower.
Cons: No complimentary transfer into town. Better to use Grab than hotel shuttle. Expected a bit more for price.
Pros: Lovely grounds, and great rooms and breakfast. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed our stay.
Pros: The bed was comfotable.
Cons: Room was not as described on booking.com. I was told that there would be a view and a bath, but this wasn't the case. The staff at the hotel blamed booking.com and did nothing to rectify the mistake which made the stay extremely uncomfortable and I wouldn't stay here again because of this.

Cons: Mosquitos by the pool because of all the greenery.
Pros: Nice hotel, clean, very helpful and friendly staff.Breakfast was very good .
Cons: Hotel is not that close to the nig
Pros: Clean, Quiet, Charming
Cons: Could be closer to downtown - but I guess I knew this when I booked it.
Pros: It is secluded and quiet. After the hustle and bustle of Asain cities this is an Oasis. Quite and comfortable and great pool to relax by. It is the second time we have stayed in this resort and would return
Cons: The power kept turning off. Unstable internet.
Pros: Nice place in the hearth of Chiang Rai. Western standards in a Thai environment.
Cons: Frontline never guve greeting at all, we came nobidy care, very bad service, this is my first time, treated like this
Pros: The room was spacious and the big bed was wonderfully comfortable. The breakfast was good with a nice variety.
Cons: Didn't have English language TV channels, Fox or CNN News, etc. Should have more foreign TV choices. Should have one more large chair. One chair is not enough for 2 people. There were renovation noises coming into the lobby but they put us far away from the noise which was good.
Pros: Lovely setting - single storey rooms spread around the gardens. Quiet and peaceful. Great swimming pool. Excellent value for us we got low season rates.

Featured amenities include a business center, luggage storage, and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The room is large and decorated in Morocco style. My super favorite here is complement breakfast. It is full of American/Thai/Northern Thai with plenty of food choice. You can order just-made coffee from the staff and it was super delicious. Check out process was quick.
Cons: The bathroom doesn't separate into wet and dry zone.
Pros: Lovely staff, good location (15 mins walk to clock tower), nice room, all spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated throughout. The swimming pool is a great extra to cool down after a hard day's sightseeing
Pros: Very good location to explore the surroundings by scooter
Cons: Faced some loud & unpleasant guests on our floor & during breakfast - not much the property could have done about though
Pros: Liked everything and have been coming here since its opening!
Cons: It could have been free.
Cons: It is a very run down hotel. And the breakfast was just so so......
With a stay at The Mantrini Chiang Rai in Chiang Rai, you'll be a 4-minute walk from Central Plaza Chiangrai and within a 5-minute drive of Wat Pra Singh. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Pros: Lovely and peaceful. The pool was nice. Room was spacious. Staff were very helpful even if they didn't always understand what we were saying. Good variety at breakfast.
Cons: The hotel is quite a way from the centre so we had to get grabs a lot of the time. Would have been nice to have a cocktail by the pool!
Pros: Good Location and quite place.
Cons: Should inform if Hotel is under renovation or give special gift to express your apologise.
Pros: I like the location the most and the bed is sooooo comfortable
Cons: Mosquitoes at the lobby is toooooo much
Pros: The complimentary airport shuttle
Cons: The restaurant chairs had hairs on them that I noticed from the day we got there to our last stay. The open space divided by glass upstairs in the restaurant could be cleaner. There were cobwebs and dust all over it. It was off putting having breakfast with that in clear view! Burnt holes in the curtains in the bedroom. Light streaming through as no blackouts to keep light out. Not much option for breakfast!
Cons: The breakfast options at the property were limited. The location of the property was not great. It is located outside the city and there is not much of life around, which isn't what a tourist would want. Commuting would be a bit of a hassle as the nearest tuk tuk stand is 5 minutes away from the property and there aren't any cabs available. You would have to go to the night market and book cabs from the travel offices.
Pros: Very clean good staff good location. Nicr breakfast
Pros: Room was modern and comfortable. Breakfast facilities were good. Location was a bit removed from town yet quiet
Cons: Bed was hard.
Pros: Swiming pool was great location is ok cleanles and friendly staff

Pros: Room and cleanliness
Pros: The staff was very helpful in making arrangements, and the breakfast was perfect for what we needed.
Pros: Clean and good service
Cons: Too far from downtown and too noisy
Pros: Friendly staff and really helpful
Cons: The bed was a bit too hard, I wish it could be a bit more soft. But still its comfortable and clean.
Pros: Hotel was good very comfortable and the staff were very helpful but I was a lady travelling on my own and it was too far out of town for me
Cons: The location too far from town although a 100 bt tuk tuk tide

Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Pros: The staff were amazingly friendly and can not fault them. Spent plenty of time keeping my 15 month old daughters attention which made the stay for her a good one as well. Rooms were spotless and if there any issues at all it would be sorted as quickly as possible.
Cons: The food. Took a few days to realise what was making us unwell. My girlfriend ordered room service on our last evening which included an 'unwanted guest' if you catch my drift. Avoid where possible. However, with the service from the staff, we will be staying again whenever we are in Chiang Rai.
Pros: Perfect location
Pros: Of course the hotel of location is good, it is nearby the night market and the centre of city. It is convenience to have foods and stuffs easily. It is comfortable to have breakfast in the restaurant due to the space is enough, not too crowd.
Cons: The temperature of air-condition is not strong enough even turn to the lowest temperature, the water pressure of shower is not strong, there is a bit dirty inside the washroom (some hairs on the floor, the floor is not too clean etc.). Finally, hotel changed the other room for me.
Pros: Location, the size of the room, cleanliness, a very nice and attentive staff
Cons: Old hotel and room, small bathroom
Pros: It’s a full service hotel with everything we needed. Price was very reasonable, staff helpful, breakfast good.
Cons: It’s showing it’s age, and the lobby and restaurant are a bit dark. Room furnishings showing some wear.
Pros: As previously written, convenient / good position easy reach of night and Saturday night market, bus station, centre of Chiang Rai, clock tower etc. and places to eat Plenty of parking, staff as usual helpful Breakfast is good but the tea is terrible still need to just leave tea bags and stop trying to make tea from Lipton tea bags in a coffee pot, Coffee OK - but not a drinker. Can now ask for freshly fried eggs if not happy with the precooked ones Hotel is getting old but still value for money and very safe and convenient for the town no need for taxi or chuk chuk in the evening
Cons: The swimming pool is being upgraded It is not mentioned in the booking that it will be closed from 1st September until November (if I remember correctly) So disappointed as we use the pool daily on our visits Informed they have arranged for guests to visit their resort hotel to use facilitates –but this is not posted at reception counter you need to ask Good if have the time but not if just for a mornings swim before breakfast Booked again for October can see bookings.com is not informing clients swimming pool closed!?! Oh Yes the tea is terrible
Pros: Location was great, food is delicious and staff is friendly

Pros: Location, pool, price, service.
Cons: Massage staff couldn't speak English to us.
Pros: Location. Surroundings
Cons: Housekeepers are very very noisy from 7am. Want to clean rooms and shout to each other.
Pros: The rooms were large, a good soft bed, the staff were polite, there was a band in the dining room and the resort was in a very nice setting. We were disappointed the pool was closed as this was one of the main reasons we came to the resort. When we mentioned it to reception they were understanding as gave us some money to use the pool in another resort. All of us enjoyed our stay.
Cons: Pool being closed. I think hotels etc should have to state pools are closed for maintenance as many people go to a place because of the facilities
Pros: Great room value. Polite staff. Beautiful surroundings and well kept gardens.
Pros: Pool area is very nice. Good shower
Cons: Appallingly rude staff. Horrific breakfast, worst food I have ever had in Thailand. Hotel is on it's last legs and in dire need of a renovation. Only people staying here are from big tour groups.

Bath room is spacious and clean Everthing in the room looks new. The staff at the reception is also very helpful. Free airport transfer to and from airport too.
Cons: The walk from reception to room 404... too lazy to walk ha ha ha Nothing I don't like
Pros: the rooms are clean
Cons: The Spa was closed for good although the name is Teak Garden SPA Resort. No pool towels.... Not one English TV channel
Cons: The shower needs improving the shower head was very old and not fully working other than that the room was very good

Pros: The room was huge with a romantic vibe. All the deco was nice and the room had a lot of natural light. A very peaceful place. The pool was nice as well.
Cons: The food from the restaurant is not the best. It was pricey and the western food the worst... Please never order the pizza.
Pros: Cottages made in wood
Cons: Breakfast was very limited and nothing special or fresh.
Pros: Loved being there.
Pros: Traditional feel very helpful staff as well.
Pros: Pillows were great as was the bath. The grounds were beautiful and a joy to explore. Staff very helpful
Cons: All excellent

Pros: need to clean more a lots dusts
Pros: Nice modern room. Great pool and garden setting.
Cons: Need more than one drinking glass in room. Tiles were a little slippery.
Pros: Handy for sunday market and had a pool, but that isn't worthy of recommending the property.
Cons: The room was very different to the advertised images. The main light switch was broken. The bathroom light broken. No furniture on the balcony. Drains did not flow as expected. Construction site outside (advert claimed finished in november 2018, this is March 2019). TV ancient with 5 channels. Unhelpful staff over early departure. Limited menu in restaurant. 200 baht deposit for key was a bit much (and not on listing). Poor internet connection too.
Cons: Cockroaches, loud air con and in a remote location, staff weren’t there to help in the evening

Pros: Location, staff and pool
Pros: Good facilities, loads of parking, Wi-Fi OK, decent sized rooms. Bring mosquito spray or deterrent if you tend to get bitten. Location better suited to those driving.
Cons: Avoid breakfast. Seriously. There is a "standard" breakfast buffet in an average Thai hotel, but this one's us way below that. Not even any milk for coffee, re-heated dried dinner from night before, stale bread, no fresh fruit. Avoid.
Pros: Swimming pool, breakfast, shower with hot water, WI fi, cleaning every day
Cons: TV without internet
Pros: Room good size, beds comfy and bathroom worked well.
Cons: Plenty of choice of breakfast for Asian people but lacking for Europeans.
