Located right across from the Vegazana Campus of the University of León, the Aparthotel Exe Campus San Mamés is a new hotel created in the most modern part of León that seeks to fill all your needs: free Internet hook-up, efficiency kitchen, TV, bathtub in all rooms, spacious, sunny studies and the possibility of triple and quadruple rooms. We also have free outdoor parking, and especially all the room you want to enjoy, because if there is something that we have got more than enough of at the Campus San Mamés it is space, room for you to move about freely: space in the rooms, space in the hallways and vestibules, and space in the panoramic windows. We are a modern hotel designed for the modern traveller. The hotel is particularly suited for guests who arrive in León for any event related to university life or to attend the Hospital Complex of León (just a five minutes walk away), as well as for families visiting the city (we are just a 12 minutes walk from the historic centre of León) and business travellers. The possibility of cooking in your own room makes the Aparthotel Campus San Mamés a unique place in the city. *Free bicycle storage space.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very big room including small kitchen. Excellent breakfast. Location is great, not too far from cathedral but in a quiet area. Modern place. Great staff at reception, both evening and morning.
7,5 Good
Pros: The location is very good. Free parking space. Nice kitchen in the room. Nice bathroom. Nice restaurants and bars nearby. Great municipal swimming pool nearby. ( 7 minutes walking distance). Supermarket nearby. Nice and helpful reception.
Cons: The hotel is very noisy. The rooms and hallways have stone floors. And Everytime someone moves a chair you can hear this through walls and ceilings even on other floors. The beds are not comfortable. We had to put some blankets under the sheets to make the matresses a little softer. The first night we had to change our top floor room, due to an extremely noisy installation on the roof. ( Resonation)
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Staff kindness
Cons: Noise coming from above apartments
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Personel was helpful.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was quite spacious, with big comfortable rooms. Staff at the front desk were very professional and spoke great English. It was very clean, with comfy beds and plenty of room for bags, etc. We only stayed a night, so didn't use the kitchenette, but it looked like you could stay for weeks and be very comfortable. Breakfast was worth the additional charge of 8 Euros or so. It was buffet-style but the food was plentiful and delicious. Shower was good, wifi was solid, would definitely recommend this place!
Cons: It was walking distance to the old part of the city, but a bit of a long walk. A small sacrifice for such a great hotel, though.
7,1 Good
Pros: The room and bathroom were clean and spacious. Free parking was available in front of reception.
Cons: There was no hairdryer. The kitchen was very bare. No kettle and only 1 pot. No serving dishes. Very basic. Other guests were smoking in their room and the smoke came through the air conditioning vent into our room and then they sprayed a strong perfume which also came into our room. I had to turn off the air conditioner, as it was becoming difficult to breathe. When advised the next morning the receptionist asked me which room the smoke was coming from as if I would know. She apologised, but didn't seem terribly concerned. No coffee machine or water dispenser. The walk from the apartment to the sites is very far and we decided to drive and park in the city.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The room was very spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The most important thing, however, was the cleanliness of both the room and the beds as well as the bathroom.
Cons: We did not like the area that the hotel is located. It is not close to bars and restaurants.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: good facilities, clean and comfortable
Cons: Location , quite a way out of town.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Just stayed one night as a stop off on the way home from a visit to the Picos de Europa. Really nice hotel, has private parking but just parked bike outside main door. Staff all friendly and guy on reception really helpful. Reasonably near to centre with bars and restaurants nearby. Breakfast was really good with a good selection. If I return to Leon wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
Cons: The weather, poured down when I was out n about.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous breakfast and excellent helpful information and tips from Luis Costa made our stay in Leon especially good. All facilities in the room to self cater if you wished to and a really spacious room and bathroom.
Cons: The hotel was a little further from the town centre than we would have liked but Luis did advise of a couple of local bus options that enabled us to get into the city centre quickly and inexpensively. We had to ask at reception for our self catering cutlery, crockery, glassware etc which we felt was odd as it advised as self catering and we would have expected the items to be in the room not delivered after we asked for them.

Pros: Loved location, right outside wall of Leon. Great place, nice staff and good basic breakfast! Def would stay again
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful friendly host. Rooms perfect. We used the Aircon on ours, for a peaceful cool haven. My teen boys had the three floor length windows open in their twin room, for a warm, curtain blowing charter street atmosphere! Charmingly slightly faded, scrupulously clean, comfortable beds, filling breakfast and late bar. The location is perfect. We managed to park our car on nearby street over night. Leon was a wonderful one night stop over with amazing tapas bars, authentic, local shops including late night cheese shop. Wonderful.
10,0 Excellent

Breakfast was basic and very poor Only bread butter and jam available and this was laid out the night before. Also available was a very poor quality juice and coffee or tea which were fine.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very spacious, clean rooms, very good breakfast (for spanish standards)
5,4 Okay
Cons: We were robbed and asked for help but unfortunately nobody wanted to help us. The internet did not work, we were not offered an alternative. We asked for one Euro to go to the police by bus because all our money was stolen, nobody wanted to help. For a 4 star resort we expect more than that.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hotel, great accommodations, friendly staff.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is situated next to a large hospital, about 4km from the historical centre. At less than €60 per night, it was a great deal. The large, modern, spacious (wheelchair accessible) rooms were very comfortable. We particularly valued the secure underground parking for our motorcycles. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: The breakfast was somewhat disappointing, as the eggs and other 'hot' food items were cold.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: I had trouble finding this as it took me to the car park behind the hotel. Probably just me not reading the satnav correctly. Lovely modern hotel, nice staff . You actually head towards the hospital entrance and it is on your right, facing the hospital. Plenty of parking space below the hotel.

Pros: The room was comfortable and well equipped. Although it is out of town the bus service was excellent.
Cons: The food at the cafe was very basic.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable beds, updated and we'll maintained, friendly and helpful staff, and the location was tops. Even had a small fridge for local cheeses. Rooms are typically small, but tasteful. Good supply of hot water, cafe and restaurant
Cons: More outlets to charge devices would have helped. Extremely noisy midweek revelers from 2 a.m. to 5 a.m. would have affected every traveler and resident for some distance, but no sense that management of this or any other facility might have tried to work with police to limit it. Noise is the trade-off for location. I'd still stay again.

Pros: Very good breakfast. Location was satisfactory as we were travelling through. Some problem with Sat Nav finding the post code,
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, they provided great tips to make out evening in Leon the best in our trip. The WIFI was very fast, far better than your average complementary hotel WiFi. Plenty of parking space in front or around the building and easy access to the city (no more the 5 minutes). All around great hotel.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Everything
6,7 Good
Cons: After arriving from home we spent the first night here in Spain. In the morning we woke up with about 10 bites which looked very bad after some days. ROOM 506 or 503 ?
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic hotel lobby, comfortable room, beds great quality. Cafeteria downstairs served great food.
Cons: Unfortunately we were cycling and it was difficult for us to find initially and is located on a busy road. In a car it would have been perfect! We had to relocate into town for the second night to be closer to the train station. There isn’t much else close to the hotel apart from a service station.
5,0 Okay
Pros: The room was a nice size.

8,3 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent, and the staff friendly. The room was very clean.
Cons: The bed could have been more comfortable, it was a little bit lumpy.
7,9 Good
Pros: You step outside from the building , turn left and in a few minutes you are in a small plaza where you will find an excellent pastellaria serving very good coffee and croissants for a very reasonable price . After you finished go to your left and in no time you will see the Gaudi building. For lunch close to the hostal is the Cafe Irish : the best menu of the dia in town . Why they call it cafe and they call it Irish I will never know.
Cons: According to the Hostal " Public parking is available at a location nearby and costs EUR 0 per day ."This is somewhat misleading. Front of the hotel is the blue zone where you pay by the hour. A block away on this side of the river is the orange zone where you pay around EUR 3.00 /day provided you can figure out how to do it . it is much more involved and complicated than just putting in your coins. Free parking is on the other side of the river a good distance from the hostel provided you can find it.

Pros: Great place. Very clean. Very central. Very reasonable price.
Cons: No complaints.

7,1 Good
Pros: Nice and Central, clean with good facilities
Cons: Booked as it had a car park for my Motor Cycle but no space and had to park in local car park over night 18€ Wanted to use spa but only between 7:30and 9:00 pm do not value for money in our case.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The staff at the front desk were great! They gave us a terrific welcome and were very helpful. Our room was comfortable and well appointed and smartly decorated. No complaints at all about the room and the hotel decor.
Cons: The reason we chose the hotel was because it was a Spa Hotel. We were two pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago. We were looking forward to using the Spa and getting a massage for those pilgrim legs! We arrived on a Sunday. The Spa was closed on a Sunday afternoon. There was no massage on a Monday our second day. When we arrived at the Spa for our booked Monday session we were sent away and told we couldn't come dressed. We had to come down to the Spa, (very well hidden in the bowels of the hotel) collect a towelling robe, go back to the top floor, change, leave all our stuff upstairs, valuables as well and come back again. And no, we couldn't use the spa lockers they were for guests from outside the hotel. I pointed out that there was only one person using the spa and all the lockers were empty. No and NO again. None of this information was made clear to us on booking.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hostal Sol Naciente in Leon, you'll be near the airport, within a 5-minute drive of Convento de San Marcos and Antonio Amilivia Stadium. Featured amenities include luggage storage and a vending machine.
4,6 Okay
Pros: It was reasonably clean when we arroved and we were able to wash our clothes onsite the day we arrived, i.e. the manager, Javier, put them in the hostal’s washing machine and hung them to dry on the hostal’s roof patio. When I called or texted Javier, he texted me back resonably quickly.
Cons: 1. The owner/manager or someone who supposedly ran or worked for the hotel was never there. The day we confirmed the reservation, Javier sent me a text asking me to please inform him 20 minutes before our arrival if we were going to arrive between 2:00 pm and 05:30 pm. I did that, and he was there to receive us at around 03:30 pm. Other than this one time, no one from management was there in the morning or evening. If I had a concrn, I had to text him - I couldn’t even get him on the phone. When I asked when he’d be at the hotel so I could pay my bill, he texted me that he would charge my card and leave a receipt in my room. When I texted him that someone from the hotel needed to be there in the morning for the transport company to pick up my luggage, he responded I should call the transport company and arrange for them to pick it up from me ss he wasn’t going to be at the hostel until 09:30 (and they usually pick up at 8:00 am). 2. On arrival, Javier gave us a mostly illegible 100th generation photocopy of a map of Leon to explain where we could or should go. While I appreciate his effort in pointing out some sightseeing highlights, it should be possible to get a more readsble, bette quality photocopy of a map. 3. The roof patio where the laundry was hung to dry appeared to have little piles of animal excrement in various places. 4. Our 3d night in the room my wife caught and killed a flea while lying on the bed. This was unsettling, to say the least. 5. Giving waiting times, the hotel was at least an hour by bus removed from the historic center of the town. Walkingdistance was about 80 minutes.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The owner was very nice!:)
Cons: -
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The owner waited for me to arrive after hours that's was very nice of him I really appreciated it. Plus he gave me information about main sights in Leon and about Camino.
7,5 Good
Pros: The owner was very friendly and helpful. I had privacy and could rest for few days in order to recover and continue my camino walk. If you want to avoid the crowds and just need a place to relax that will be fine. It is easy to get the bus to and from the city centre.
Cons: There was no fridge/kitchen facilities. It's outside the city centre and you need to take a bus. There are not many shops around.
6,3 Good
Pros: Room clean, staff pleasant and helpful. Only thing did not like was location, industrial area. Was close enough to bus and train stations.
5,0 Okay
Pros: It's only 5 minutes from city center driving and easy to park just in front of the hotel. Easy check out process by just leaving the keys on the deck. Also front desk agent was nice, welcoming and helpful with tips regarding the city (map, restaurant, etc)
Cons: It looks like a old hostel that absolutely needs a refurbishement. It's quite dark in the place and the bathroom is in bad stage, not very clean. The surrounding are not very nice. Honestly we don't really recommend it and wouldn't stay there again unless your priotity is to get a cheap price for a short one night stay as it was our first intention when booking this property

Pros: Confort
Cons: Buffet breakfast too expensive for quality offered Very poor Continental breakfast : choice between bread or one croissant, but not both , plus one chemical orange juice, that’s all !
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Loved this hotel which lies directly on Plaza Major. Modern hotel but very near to all historic sites. Reasonable evening meal available in the hotel
Cons: Very difficult to find the car park, but once we found it, we discovered that it was directly beside the hotel! Sat nav not helpful, it was easier to follow traffic signs.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The location was outstanding with history in every corner. Architectural beauty. Facilities were goods and the staff were excellent and incredibly helpful. Fully recommended.
Cons: All was good.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Our room was cute, comfortable and clean with a wonderful view over Plaza Mayor. Despite the busy square below, the well sealed windows ensured a peaceful night’s rest. We were able to walk to all the delightful sights of León. A good option for a rest day on the Camino.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Great view of Cathedral & very comfy firm bed. Very clean & well appointed.
Cons: Facial at spa not available on days at hotel.
5,0 Okay
Pros: It was clean.
Cons: Every morning 6:00 to 8 and every evening 10:30 to 11:30, it sounds like a bowling alley. I think they are setting up and tearing down the outside furniture. The staff was not smiling.... I smile... no smile back. Scheduled a massage and the lady walks through the lobby and gestures to me to follow... no greeting or smile. The massage should be called a light skin rub. Even after I requested more pressure, just lazy hands. I like the restaurant. Food was fresh and cooked to order.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location is excellent. Room was clean and modern.
Cons: Street noise was annoying and persisted well into the early morning.
7,5 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: The surprise that there was a one and and a half hour limit on spar use. WHY IS THE CLIENT NOT INFORMED BEFORE BOOKING. Not good
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable, clean hotel decent bathroom and shower facilities Great location with partial view of Cathedral from bedroom and close to main areas, restaurants etc. Lovely to see Cathedral illuminated at night
Cons: would have liked more variety of choice at breakfast
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location! Great staff very helpful. Room was very comfortable.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Stayed here when we finished a section of The Camino & couldn't wait to come back & stay again now we're starting the next bit. Lovely room with a comfortable bed. Good bathroom with toiletries & hairdryer. Location excellent.. right in the middle of town & next to the cathedral, we could see it from the balcony.
Cons: Only little thing was breakfast. Told it was from 7.30 but when we went in hoping for some eggs or something nice we were told we were too early & had to have a cold croissant
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were fantastic and the situation perfect for exploring León.
Cons: Nothing to criticise at all!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent! The hotel is literally across a small street from the Cathdral. It was easy to walk all through the old town with cafes, restaurants and sights. Our room was modern, the wifi good and the beds comfortable. We couldn't ask for more!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Central, clean, very comfortable room with nice bath. View of cathedral from room. Happy to have the AC and very hot shower. Would stay here again.
Cons: The bottom seal of shower door was broken so after showering a lot of water covered the bathroom floor.
7,7 Good
Pros: The very good location near castle, nice room.
Cons: The problem is to find right way to the hotel(our GPS was not good with it). My advice: to ask hotel to send you map with directions and explanation
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, safe, centrally located.
7,3 Good
Pros: stylish, clean rooms, friendly staff, perfectly located, best value for money; my favourite in the area!
7,7 Good
Pros: Great for a city break. I had a comfortable attic room with a view of the cathedral and button by the bed which you can press to open and close the window/blind. I also made use of the spa which was a real bonus after a strenuous day and worth the $10, Hotel very well located in the centre of Leon with several eating options nearby. The breakfast was as good as any served in a cafeteria in Spain, and excellent value at $3; I had freshly squeezed orange juice, cafe con leche and toasted croissant (croissant plancha) with marmalade. What more could you possibly want?
6,7 Good
Pros: Location is superb - very near the Cathedral, and San Isidoro is only a short distance away. Everything in the historic city centre (including many good bars and restaurants) is within easy reach, but the area immediately around the hotel is just off the main routes and is surprisingly quiet. Rooms are small but well-planned, and are furnished in a modern idiom. The very reasonable prices represent good value for money. Continental breakfast in the bar at 3 euros each is pretty good.
Cons: Nothing we disliked.
7,3 Good
Pros: A good place to stay, near the cathedral. Our floor (4th, I think) had windows on the roof - affording us views of Leon Cathedral. Very romantic.
Cons: Can't drive up to the door with the luggage .... which was a bit of a drag. I think this needs to be stressed in the booking confirmation (block letters/italics).

Pros: Very comfortable rooms and an ideal location. Awesome bartender. I have no idea what he was saying in Spanish, but he's such a performer that it doesn't matter.

Pros: The room was large, clean and airy. Very good bathroom size and facilities. The breakfasts were excellent. Tea, coffee, juices, fresh fruit, cereals, yogurts etc. as well as full cooked breakfast. Toaster was slow but that's a very minor gripe.
Cons: No tea/coffee facilities in bedroom. No room service outside of 11am to 11pm
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Spectacular views across the city. Double room was spacious with a great shower. Also loved the bed. This will be our go-to hotel in León in the future, so close to both the 'Humedo' and the 'Romantico', the superb tapas bar areas.
Cons: Regarding the gymnasium. Maybe time to re-invest in the equipment... plus the 10am opening time on a weekend is a bit late.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Beds were excellent. Room generally well appointed. Roof top bar and restaurant are very good. Front desk staff are first rate. Location is very good for the main sights.
Cons: Lifts are very slow. Breakfast, whilst good, the room felt cramped.
