The tower at Gold spike is terrible. Requested to move to the pool side after the first night. In the tower, they escort you to the elevator from the entrance and won’t allow you to site at the bar or participate in the activities unless you go back outside and in a different entrance, escorted, even though you have to walk through the area to get the elevator, escorted.

Cons (-) When there are literally ZERO people in your “backyard” and a DJ is blaring music until 2 am it is shitty. I got a room here cause I needed a place to sleep because I was driving 8 hours the next day. I should have slept in my car and would get better sleep.

Pros (+) The location is great if you want to be downtown. I was in town for Life is Beautiful and this was the perfect spot to stay. The room was clean and everything was comfortable.
Cons (-) The common areas were a little dingy, the elevator sucks, the bathroom was small, and there were not enough outlets (and none near the bed - this seems like a no brainer for any hotel). The pictures are very flattering, but it didn't quite deliver on the expectations.
