Campsites were clean and secluded. The community of campers and resort staff are friendly and fun. The campsites were decorated for Halloween. Even the golf carts were decorated elaborately for Halloween. There’s lots to do so we wish we had fewer park tickets next time to enjoy the grounds more:
We were assigned a full hook up site in the 1700s which is off a side road within the grounds and we could hear the buses from inside our camper. I would have liked a quieter inside camp site instead of an outer site near the road.
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort Campground is part of the Disney family of resorts, offering an Old West-style accommodation that features the choice of cabins or tent campsites for the ultimate camping experience. There are 363 cabins on site as well as 847 campsites to choose from, including various sizes to suit groups of all kinds. This resort sits between Epcot and the Magic Kingdom, on 750 sprawling acres of cypress and pine forest. Multiple sizes of campsites are available to host tents, trailers, and recreational vehicles. Freestanding cabins accommodate up to 6 guests.
There are plenty of animals roaming the grounds at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort Campground, including rabbits, geese, deer, ducks, peacocks, and even armadillos. Bay Lake features a recreation area that includes beach access, a marina, Tri-Circle-D Ranch, and Pioneer Hall. There is a trading post for sundries, groceries, and snacks, making sure you never go hungry out in “the wild.” Bike rentals are available to explore the grounds and surrounding trails. This resort also offers tennis, swimming, shuffleboard, and volleyball along with kayaking, canoeing, and other water sports.
The cabins at Fort Wilderness are air-conditioned and include a kitchen with all major appliances. Those looking for a Disney-style camping getaway with the comforts of home can rent these cabins, which are spread throughout the resort. Cabins include one double bed, bunk beds, and a pull-down bed, so there is plenty of space for everyone to sleep. Campsites offer more privacy and include running water, electricity, cable hookups, grills, and WiFi, for Disney glamping at its finest.
