Pros: Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Friendliest staff I’ve ever encountered. Family friendly. Peaceful.

Cons: Could not have been better. We had the most relaxing time and the staff was attentive to everything. They upgraded our room and boxed up breakfast since we were leaving early.

Pros: Lovely place, well maintained. Staff were generally friendly and made us feel welcomed. Good selection for breakfast. Games facilities good condition and lots to do.

Cons: Unfortunately there were too many insects around the pool area and in the pool which did not make it appealing to use. We were not expecting to find mosquitoes either. Breakfast selection was good however it was not being topped up frequently enough. If you came at 10am for breakfast a lot of the dishes were empty and refilled. Some of the staff at breakfast were not very tentative to the guests. The price for a can of coke at the pool side was 6 euros which we felt was extortionate considering in room bar was at 2 euros. Limited vegetarian options on the menu for dining.

Pros: Amazing location and staff, really look after you in every way. The private beach is class and the the terrace bar and grill is lovely and great views. Breakfast is unbelievable and set in the B&G restaurant with a stunning views as the sun creeps in. My new wife and I were treated so well I couldn't recommend it enough and did not want to leave.

Cons: Just a tad expensive for some things, a 1.5 litre of water is €5.

Pros: We enjoyed the good hospitality by the staff, the location was awesome and the value for money at this time of the year. We had a half board inclusive deal, the plated dinner was very good and the breakfast superb. Thank you to Management for our special touch for our anniversary it was really appreciated. All in all a great stay, we will be back.

Cons: Change the hotel to smokefree so that neighbours' smoke doesn't enter other balconies. Have notices up asking guests to be quiet during sleeping hours, noisy neighbours did not help with sleep. An armchair in the room would be nice as it was too cold to sit on the balcony in the evening.

Pros: The food was fantastic from the wide and superb breakfast range to lunch and cocktails on the relaxing bar terrace with excellent views and finally to the Christmas events. Staff were very friendly and the rooms super comfortable. The coastal walk to and from the Hotel to Carvoeiro is stunning and a must do for those able to do it and a definite if you avail of the food and drink!

Cons: The indoor pool was a little on the small side and would be "cosy" if it had more than a few people but hey it was Christmas and not the hottest outside which didn't stop some adventurous people swimming in the main pool. That is not a complaint it is more an observation. Free drinking water supply in the room would have been an easy win.

Pros: The place is gorgeous, not only adjacent to the resort, but the beaches, starting with the double beach at the end of the path toward to sea. Then, nice hike to the right along the ridge toward another beach about 20 min along the ridge. Small, lovely pocket beaches. Breakfasts were great. The suite was huge and super comfortable. The spa was good--especially the steam room and sauna. My pedicure was costly but very well done. Staff is nice and helpful.

Cons: The dining room for dinner is super fussy in a not so good way. Small portions of over fancy,over-prepared, not so tasty food. It seemed wildly off the mark for the resort which had a number of kids. The dining room was not well patronized at night and for good reason. Off the mark for an otherwise great place.

Pros: Nice quiet resort with a good beach just a walk away. Has a heated pool inside in case of colder weather. The resort is far from all the city noise and it is perfect for cozy vacation.

Pros: Stunning setting- peaceful, fabulous views out to see and the hotel is designed beautifully around this. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and varied and the gym and pool facilities were a great addition to our stay. I would highly recommend for families and people who want easy access to the sites and attractions of the algarve but wish to stay somewhere a little off the beaten track with a relaxed and peaceful vibe.

Cons: Only complaint is- we had a sea view room, but there was a huge video screen right across the street that played 24/7. If you have a sea view room ask to be on a floor higher then 3!

Pros: Each member of my family liked this hotel and condition. We stayed for 3 nights. Next time we would like to come back for more nights. Even it was the end of December from 26 to 29. Dec, the hotel still had a free apartment. Therefore, we asked to change the apartment (to see the seaside), they can suggest us selecting from 3 variants. They also have shown us different kinds of apartments. Finally, we selected an apartment with a city view, due to the difference in price (20 euro per night). But this kind of apartment was a good solution since full time after breakfast till 6 p.m. we were outside, and sunset in December is around 18 p.m. so we could not need to see the seaside from our room in dark ;). The breakfast was excellent! A Many fruits, vegetables, and much different food and kinds of bread, drinks; all were good prepared, very fresh and pleasant serviced. During our stay, the weather was 15-20 degrees and waves were normal, so our child has taken the lessons of surfing close to the hotel and rent all equipment for surfing. The price is very good and the instructors were professional and kind. Due to this reason, we would like to come back to this place again, maybe in the warm season. We have rented a car and the receptionist showed us a free parking place. During winter this free parking (and safety) is close to the hotel. We also see in Portimao, that another part of the beach is not so safety (some strange groups of people ). We would like to come again and stay at this hotel.

Cons: Some children in the hotel were very very noisy, even late evening, they runned in the corridor and in the restaurant (at breakfast time). Nobody from personal stoped them. Parents also never stop them. We were lucky that the room was enough noise proof, so noise from corridor is still acceptable. I suggest putting some information in corridors (no be noisy)

Pros: Very spacious bedrooms. We were 2 adults and our 12 year old son slept on a pull out bed under the sofa which is partinioned off from where the bed is. The room has a small kitchenette with microwave and sink, so it is possible to prepare and eat a simple meal. Hotel clean and buffet breakfast which was included, had plenty of choice. Wide beach with lots of open space and restaurants on the beach. Despite most of these being closed due to be out of season, the ones which were open had great food and drinks at very resonable prices. Great for a hours walk in the sunshine and fresh air.

Pros: Perfect place for a relaxed holiday. Facilities looked great, the bed was super comfortable. Nice swimming pool and decent breakfast. The staff were fantastic overall, with a special word of appreciation to Bruno (at reception) for the amazing beach recommendations. We also had dinner there on one of the nights. While the menu did not offer many options, the food was of the highest standard, not to mention the amazing service we had by a gentleman named Jose Santos. I am overall impressed and likely to come back one day.

Cons: By looking at the pictures, I was under the misconception that all rooms would have a balcony. Unfortunately my didn't. The gym facilities need some work done. We had a Romantic package upgrade, which comes with a bottle of wine as well as strawberries and chocolate. Not only was the delivery date wrong(this was fixed), when it did get delivered it had a bunch of other fruits and not enough strawberries.

Pros: Very friendly staff, well organized. Incredibly good restaurant for dinners with a chef’a sampler menu. The suite was great and provided a lot of space. Big, comfortable beds. Very calm location and a bit remote, so you definitely need a car to get around. The spa area is awesome with a jacuzzi and sauna.

Nice wsrm outside pool , great pool bar with delicious snacks . The hotel as a whole was very well maintained , and Just 6€ Uber ride from Carvoeiro with it's ethora of dining options . Pros: The surrounding garden and pool of this hotel are really beautiful. However it is clear that everything is a little outdated and budget for maintenance and repairs seems low. All in all a good place in the Algarve region to get away and relax.

Cons: A little disappointed as I expected more from this accomodation. I booked a suite because this was our honeymoon and I also communicated this to the hotel, however there was no mention of this from the staff and the suite was not worth the money at all. The quality of the cooked breakfast items was really poor (canned mushrooms??) but the pastries were nice. Service at the bar was extremely slow and the person at the checkout seemed to have no clue what he was doing.

Pros: The hotel made for a very central location for our purpose of getting out into the Algarve area. Although we had our own transport! There was a good public transport system in the area. We were very pleased with the staff From reception to restaurant and general staff.

Pros: It nice to walk or swim, to take a sunbath or lay in salt water pool just in centre of the hotel territory. At the same time it is a yacht port if you prefer to come there on your own yacht ;) The hotel is right on city border and you can walk there or to take a city bus (bus stop is in front od the hotel main entance), or to rent a car and ride around visiting other cities and villages with own different and beautiful beaches, restaurants, shopping etc. I prefer to visit not far Sagres to look "The End of the Earth" :)

Cons: It will be nice to propose in local hotel restaurant more diverse food, including sea food, for breakfast. The rooms have small kitchens, but no frying pan or any dishwashing detergents.

Pros: The view from our balcony was great, the size of the room exceeded our expectations, the facilities were very modern, the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was very complete and varied (our favourite things were the omelette station and the nespresso machine!). We were on our honeymoon and the hotel surprised us with a bottle of sparkling wine and some strawberries with chocolate, which was a lovely gesture.

Pros: The staff were brilliant. We arrived late and the guy treated us with the right mix of being friendly without keeping us up longer than necessary. It set the tone for the week, everyone was great, breakfast was good, and a good spot as it was a little quieter than being nearer portimao main town.

Pros: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and abundant. There are pleasant terraces to sit and read and drink wine in the evenings! It’s only a few minutes walk to some of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen, and there are plenty of local restaurants. Also the tourist hop-on hop-off bus stops close by which is a very useful way to get about the area - this is how I discovered Alvor, which is really worth a visit. It’s a charming, quiet place, perfect for total relaxation.

Cons: Actually the only reason that I've booked the room and in particular this hotel was the "sea view" in the description. I have to say that the hotel is not on the beach, you don't see the ocean from the rooms or the hall. If you want to go to the beach is 10 minutes walking, but the streets you have to do are not so nice.

Pros: This was our 3rd time here, it's very family oriented, safe place for children, with little playground and swimming pool, not too far from beautiful beaches.. selfcatering but cleaning and towels changing every second day... small shop, restaurant inside...

I would like to thank Isabella for her friendly behavior (who was in the front desk as well as handling all the situations). The staffs were very friendly and supportive and i came to know some of the best beaches of portimao from them. Benagil tour is also possible from portimao by boat. Pros: The friendliness of the management.

Pros: This hotel is owned by a family who also live in the hotel. They are always available to help and offer any services that they can. They first helped us find a place to eat when we arrived late. Then they borrowed us free beach towels ( and offered free umbrellas, chairs, and beach paddles), allowed us to use their printer, and were overall excellent hosts. Breakfast was nice bread, meat, and cheese and was very good (best free breakfast we have received while in Europe). The room was very clean and nice enough condition. I absolutely would stay again.

Pros: Very pleasant place to stay at. Staff is exceptionally kind and informative. We came after the midnight and we are offered with a welcome drink, which is a small but very effective gesture. Hotel is older, but very clean. They clean room and change towels every day. Wi-fi works well. Hotel is placed in the quiet neighborhood, on the walking distance from beach and city center. There is a supermarket near hotel too. If you have moderate expectations, this place will be great for you.

Pros: Friendly hosts, good location quite near to the Praia da Rocha and bus stops. They serve nice and cheap breakfast. The rooms are almost fully equipped. The hosts are very helpful and fulfill every wish.

Cons: The pilow was too soft and unconfortable to me, and I am sure it would be changed in case we complained, but as it was only 1 night stand I didn't. It was quite noisy early in the morning, I believe this is because the bedroom was on the ground floor, facing the main road.

Cons: This aparthotel needs to have a major renovation. It’s at least 25 years overdue. The inside of the room was not only severely dated, it was dirty and uncomfortable. The master bed mattress was so thin and barren that I got poked with springs all night long. The pull out sofa bed with its 3 inch thick mattress my 5-year-old slept on was actually more comfortable. My kids feet were black if they didn’t wear their shoes in the room. There were black hairs behind the bathroom door (we are blondes and brunettes), a giant hairball in the kitchen. There were no toiletries, the washer/dryer barely worked (I had to hang every piece of laundry I washed), no detergent to wash any dishes we used. The walls of the room were paper thin and we could hear road noise and the 11 pm dumpster pick up like it was in the room with us. The WiFi signal was unreliable and weak. The main pool was frigid and the most shallow point as over 5ft deep. My kids are great swimmers, but the pool wasn’t enjoyable because they couldn’t touch anywhere and we were told no floats were allowed. They did have two kiddie pools but they were tiny and only 1.5 ft deep., which weren’t much fun for the 8 and 9 year olds. We had breakfast on site once, and that was enough. The food was not good. We also ate at the pool bar one afternoon. We sat down at 11:58 and the waiter promptly told us they didn’t serve lunch until 12. I said that is only two minutes away, so I think we can wait. Well, the food again wasn’t good and the whole process took 2 hours!! Ridiculous amount of time for chicken nuggets and burgers to be served and eaten. Overall the hotel was run down, uncomfortable and unfriendly. I would look elsewhere. Conversely we stayed at Martinhal Chiado aparthotel while in Lisbon and it was outstanding. Clean, awesome service, comfortable. Wish we would have chosen their Sagres location for the second half of our trip.

Pros: The hotel still has an old style elegance. The breakfast buffet is great. The rooms each have a Nespresso machine, only remember to bring your preferred capsules as choice is limited. The staff are friendly and attentive. The Championship course still challenges all but the best of golfers.

Pros: We had liked everything! Starting from the kind staff, even if yong, the superior food quality and serving as it should be in a 5 star hotel, ending in the exterior areas extremely well care, and the comfort of the room. There couldn’t be more fantastic than it was. All the people help when necessary, assisted when attended. Weather was also perfect and help to create memorable moments but it wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t the good management and training to the yong staff. Thanks. Looking forward to return.

Cons: Some minor faults from yong staff, however we cannot judge the entire facility because of it.

Pros: The time when my friends who were staying in another hotel with better facilities and atmosphere came and picked me up and took me there.

Cons: Empty, boring, I spoke to very few English clients, no activities. I went to the bar the first evening for a predinner drink, I was the only guest!!! The first room I was In had a shower over the bath and no bath mat, which I had to request. I had to request a change of room I needed. Walk in shower as I have mobility issues and use a walking stick. Not a friendly hotel. I couldn't access the pool because of the ladders.

Pros: Buffet Breakfast ,Plenty of choice so you help yourself to what & how much you want , Presentation Very Good ! !

Cons: Out door swimming pool NOT heated ! :-) .

Cons: Its a good 10 minute walk into village downhill. Which was fine for us as we like walking. But no good for travellers with problems getting about walking. Although taxi only €4 into village and €4 back up to hotel

Pros: Fantastic property both inside and out. Lovely pool area, clean open rooms. I would highly recommend a “sea view” room. Free parking outside. A full supermarket about 5 mins walk away.

Cons: It was just a little bit a of a walk from the village of Alvor, about 10 minutes if you walk fast. We were a couple, I wouldn’t like to be a family without a car bringing all your bag and baggage (and kids) down to the beach. Also one thing which I thought was really annoying. I spent ages trying to turn on the oven in the room to no avail. I read the booklet back to front in the room and it just gave instructions for the hob (which didn’t work either). My last resort was to ring reception to which I got “Did you pay?” .... very confused I reply “Did I pay for what?” To which I got a snide reply of “You must pay 3euro per day to use the oven”. To be honest it’s not entirely the fact that you have to pay for the oven, (We are in another hotel now for the next part of our stay and the oven works for free!) it was more that no where in any of the literature does it say or was it mentioned at check in that you must pay for the oven. Such a silly thing to leave a bad taste in my mouth after our Lovely stay.

Cons: The toilet in the room was broken and I had to call maintenance twice in 12 hours. The hotel gym was under renovation and not available tog guests, and there was no arrangement with another hotel to use their gym. The roof in the ground floor hallway was leaking so we had to walk around buckets of water.

Pros: Regardless of some negative reviews we decided to try this hotel for ourselves. It was among other few pet friendly hotels. Thank God there are still businesses and people who don’t hate dogs in Portugal. Majority of the time dogs are not allowed anywhere here. We fell in love with this hotel. It’s well run, clean, friendly, prime location, plentiful breakfast options, spa. Have no regrets or complaints. Will come back here definitely.

Cons: Reserved king bed but given 2 twins as they had no available king rooms despite our prepaid reservation. They really didn't care about it either.

Pros: Nice hotel with a good location. Clean room with a comfortable bed and a big balcony with sea view.

Cons: In a five star hotel they should not have brown blankets on the bed anymore. Hairdryer very poor quality.

Pros: The location is excellent just few steps far from the beach. Good breakfast. Amazing service from the staff.

Cons: Because of the location it might be a bit noisy sometimes. The bathroom was not very clean.

Pros: Good bathroom walk in shower but the fan didn’t work so got very steamed up. Location was excellent out of season sea view room .

Cons: Very noisy. A lot of street noise. Difficult to sleep.

Pros: Perfect location right by the beach. Parking available which meant we could park and forget about the car until we left again.

Pros: Everything fine. Very close to beach. Rooms are not modern but for that price it was really good choise. Hotel has own parking place.

Pros: Liked the the new decor especially all the old black and white fishing photos.

Cons: Bit of noise from a nearby bar but to be expected because of the location on main square but plus side is you are so close to beach.

Pros: Hot & cold breakfast included within the price, reception always manned friendly & polite the rooms have been refurbished to a very good standard also the hotel is in the process of building a roof terrace/bar which will have fantastic views out to sea. One point to note there is a bar across the road from the hotel called Sullys and the clientele can be noisy at times.

Pros: Hotel is directly on the plaza adjacent to the beach. Easy to come and go from the beach. If you are plans are to enjoy the beach, this is your hotel.

Cons: Coffee in room is weak. Needed both packs to make one cup. Wifi available only in the lobby. Signal weak. Buffet breakfast only option. Went outside the hotel for a simple breakfast. K
