Cons: Absolutely nothing!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel and staff are very helpful especially the front desk and concierge. Rooms size is large with great views.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very large rooms, especially by Japanese standards. The location is great at the Harbourland. We had a lovely view of the harbour from the room. Breakfast was delicious and delicate as you would hope for in Japanese style. The Teppanyaki restaurant is excellent.
Cons: There is no gym, and it’s a bit of a trek to Kobe Station, but we knew this before we arrived.

Pros: Shuttle bus services were excellent. Staff was very friendly. Family baths were private and secluded and yet extremely scenic and open.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The Staff were excellent and 2 people deserve a special mention ; Tam , the Malaysian gent assisted with check in and was always there to offer assistance and Justin , the Filipina gent was most helpful and saved us much time and money by recommending the most cost and time efficient route to our next destination. Both Justin and Tam are a credit to the hotel!
6,0 Good
Pros: Hot Spring
Cons: Food
7,1 Good
Pros: Dinner and breakfast were good but was served in a private dining room, not inside guest room. A bit disappointed as we paid over usd $700 for one night; hotel is old in its design n amenities; the drink menu at dinner looked dirty like a 2 star motel. Not worthy of what we paid
Cons: Combs bed sheets blankets are not really up to normal standard , not to mention no soap to wash hands in the toilet in the guest room, very unsatisfactory at a season of Wuhan pneumonia
7,1 Good
Pros: the dinner and breakfast were good. Staffs were friendly.
Cons: The room is smaller than I expected and experienced in other Onsen Ryokans. The staffs were very busy with too many guests. Actually comparing with other Onsen places, with the money we spent, it could be more. Arima is not so nice, as it sounds like.

Pros: Excellent room service Nice bathroom supplies Cozy beds
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous from start to finish ! I couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough. We went on Christmas eve and the hotel was beautifully decorated with open fires and orangy, spicy scent in the air. The reception is on the top floor so your first impression is a stunning night view of Kobe harbour. The rooms were exquisite with all the little extras and so tastefully furnished, comfy beds and heaps of space. Staff were genuinely super friendly and helpful, the buffet breakfast a real treat. It was worth going to Kobe just to stay in this hotel, definitely will go again !
Cons: There's nothing not to like about this superb hotel !
9,0 Excellent
Pros: hotel newly designed lobby, room corridor and nice themed rooms. Also the history information about the hotel that framed well on some corner of the hotel, that gave us exciting and delighting feelings.
Cons: the breakfast restaurant kind of a little bit too small. we have to queue for long time, and more terrible when you come near the closing hour, you might be not getting any foods. Also maybe the staff need to be more get used to deal with foreign tourist, not just put prioritize to the locals.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service and decor. I booked a corner room at this hotel for my honeymoon. They gave us two free drinks and free minibar for each night of stay. Nice view of harbour. Near attractions like Chinatown.
Cons: There are no curtains and the blinds still let in light, so it’s hard to sleep In.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Room size, deco, location, Italian restaurant, class
Cons: Always a treat to return but only at low season as it is an expensive establishment
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service, very good location and very attentive personnel. Our room had a beautiful view to the harbour area, was large and had a very comfortable bed. In short: Kobe at its best!

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Planning an event in Kobe? This ryokan has facilities measuring 323 square feet (30 square meters), including a meeting room. A train station pick-up service is provided at no charge, and free valet parking is available onsite.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The whole experience of staying and relaxing in a traditional ryokan with onsen is something you have to do when you are in Japan. This place breaths tradition and it is nice to walk around and have dinner in your yukata. The staff is very polite and friendly. The onsen is simple but the water with the golden redish colour (because of the minerals) brings a bit of magic to your skin. Dinner and breakfast food is of good quality. They offered a free taxi service to the station.
Cons: Some parts are not modernized such as the bathroom (it is cold and old but we did not use it since we used the facilities in the onsen). For dinner in the restaurant they offer two shifts: one at 6 PM and one at 8 PM. The courses are therefore served in a fast pace. We felt rushed and did not have enough time to enjoy all the beautiful dishes that were being served.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the service we received- the staff were exceptional.
Cons: Nothing.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent interesting traditional food and atmosphere. The spa was fantastic. Special waters and therapeutic to body and spirit.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: It was the second time I stayed at this hotel in Arima Onsen and it's as good as the previous time! I'm not sure the staff can speak English though, we always talked in Japanese with them. It's the typical ryokan that most tourists are dreaming of, the private bathroom is especially amazing! I recommend staying at this place if you want to experience the traditional japanese way of living.
Cons: Nothing
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Private hot spring area at no extra charge.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great meals from traditional Japanese cooking, warm services
Cons: The private hot springs we're easily occupied since we have to share with others. No time limits on the usage and let others wait long time.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: excellent food cooked in a beautiful traditional open plan kitchen. ability to have the onsen to yourselves which is not possible in all ryokan
Cons: wifi signal was pretty weak
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Able to have then Onsen to yourself was nice.
7,5 Good
Pros: The hotel is beautiful, staff nice and helpful, fantastic dinner.
Cons: Our beds in the Japanese style room were incredibly uncomfortable. They are not futon beds but something more towards hospital beds to help people with physical impairments or the elderly, which would be ok, if the mattresses were not the worst I have tried in years.

Pros: Great view of the Port of Kobe. very big facility. a bit old hotel but still keep a very function of the hotel. Room services are excellent. Asking for glasses of wine and champagne, within 10mins arrive. even it's already late time.
Cons: Even the room is working nicely, but remodelling the room to suit new era will enhanced the excellent of this hotel to the next level. Quite big building so check your map before you walk around. it's easily to get lost in the hotel. :D

Pros: I expected the rooms to be a bit dated but that was not the case; facilities were fairly well-maintained. Hotel offers free choice of pillows and a range of handy facilities (on request) that are a rare sight in other properties e.g. dyson fans and face moisturizers. Breakfast is excellent. My expectations were high and were well met.

Pros: Osen is very clean and well maintained. Private bath options are great for families.
Cons: Not much to do in the resort or nearby except onsen.

Pros: The hotel was very quiet which we hardly ran into other people in the hotel. They served dinner in a private room with food quality food. Arima Onsen Gekkoen Korokan - Kobe - Building

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Arima Onsen Gekkoen Korokan (Ryokan) in Kobe (Kita Ward), you'll be steps from Arima Hot Springs and 4 minutes by foot from Kin no yu. Free valet parking is available onsite.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Staffs were above and beyond . Dinner was eight courses , immaculate ! Breakfast was exceptional as well.
Cons: Property could use some update .
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Other than the air conditioning problem, everything is perfect. The best part is the service of the staffs. You can feel they are very much care of you. Their service made me feel I am really their VIP guest there!
Cons: The air conditioning is not working properly. It was really hot during the sleep.
7,1 Good
Pros: Hot Spring
Cons: my room full of smoking smell; noisy from upstair floor.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: It's our first time to Arima-onsen and Gekkoen left our family an wonderful memory. At arrival, we're already embraced by the hospitality of the staff. With one single call, they picked us up at the train station in just a few minutes and welcomed us warmly at the gate. How warm! Super delicious Kaiseki Dinner and out of expectation Breakfast had brought out the very beauty of Japanese cuisine. It's a MUST-TRY besides Onsen. All 3 Onsen inside the Ryokan and her sister buildings are fantastic. Also the free massage chairs are such a suprise. They just made the whole onsen experience much more perfect. In short, I will definitely recommend Gekkoen to anyone who want to have a genuien experience of Japanese onsen and cuisine. And will revisit her if I shall go to Arima again.
Cons: It's pity that there aren't any drinks auto-selling machine inside the Ryokan building. When we finish Onsen late, we'd always like to buy some drinks but it seems we could only get some at the restuarants, or walk outside... It will be so great if such machines are equipped inside the Ryokan.
5,4 Okay
Pros: Just average, luckily there was cherry blossom. Staff at the reception is ok.
Cons: Not good food, the staff at the dining room had no smile. Below par service. Hot spring is normal, not good. With the price I expect more. Will not recommend.

Pros: Shuttles service is good.
Cons: The price is too high.

Rokkosan rope way is like 10 minutes walking distance from the hotel . About the service and staff : Everyone works in the hotel served us with warm smile, (the gentleman helped us check in also helped us take our 2 HUGE luggages into the room , thank you so much
Cons: Nothing
7,5 Good

Cons: This hotel is very old. The diner included is mediocre. Good for photographing but not so good for tongue. I am disappointed by the food.

Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The most delicious Japanese breakfast buffet I’ve ever had!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: It was far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the city and yet all this was within reach. I’m aware that Americans tend to be obsessed about ‘lobbies’, However in this instance their awe would be justified. Truly amazing!
Cons: Thought that the Skytop Buffet was a little boring and certainly overpriced.
5,7 Okay
Cons: The only reason I booked was because they list a fitness centre as part of the amenities. You actually have to pay almost $40 to use it, and that doesn’t include the pool. Don’t list it as an amenity if it’s not included.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Big hotel with nice rooms with a great view over the city of Kobe. Staff was very friendly, the breakfast was excellent und it is close to Kobe Airport. All in all great value for your money.
Cons: The hotel is a bit far from the city center, but they have a shuttle service to the two biggest stations every 20 minutes so the distance doesn’t pose a big problem. The room is quite warm at night and it can‘t really be regulated.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast options were amazing. On weekdays you have two restaurant options, both with a wide variety of excellent Japanese and Western food. While on weekends you can choose from several restaurants offering set meals. The place feels like a mall with different restaurants and pubs, plus a 24-hour convenience store with an ATM. The room is spacious with amazing views!
Cons: It's a bit far to go to the city centre. There are trams and a free hotel bus, but after midnight you'd need to call a taxi.

Pros: the view is good from the room.
Cons: facility is relatively old. When we arrive the hotel, it was around 9.30pm. The normal entrance with elivator was CLOSED. We spent another half hour finding a way to get into hotel. Cons: TV - there is no paid TV.

Pros: - The food was pretty good.
Cons: - Private onsen didn't have any view. I used to stay in another onsen place where they have a really nice view while you enjoy the onsen. - Facility seems pretty old, especially the bathroom.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We booked two rooms, one with individual hot spring, the other one can suit 6 peoples. The former one was wonderful as the hot spring was the best individual hot spring I even booked. It's the golden spring water from Arima. Dinner served inside the room was also amazing, very nice sashimi, good beef, wonderful choices. Public hot spring is also nice and there are open-air hot spring. Overall we love it and we must return if we come back to Arima.
Cons: The slope leading to the hotel is so steep and it's harsh if pushing luggage. There is shuttle available if you make a call to the hotel. Shuttle available getting to bus terminal.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Service is excellent!
Cons: Would be better if the staff could speak better English~~~
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very surprise

Pros: Good location , the dinner is really nice!
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Room was very spacious, I had the room with the open-air bath, which was hot despite the cold temperature outside. Staff were great and welcoming. On check-in I was able to customize breakfast/dinner as I have a lot of dietary restrictions.
Cons: My only complaint about the room is that the bedroom itself smelled like fish. We couldn't figure out why. It was the only criticism I had about the place.

Pros: The location of the hotel was very good since we came to the Canadian Academy 50 year Reunion. The hotel is a ten minute walk from the school and it was a lovely walk. I also liked the room, very comfortable and had all the things in it to make my stay enjoyable. Also the bus that took us to Shin Kobe, that goes every 20 minutes, was great.
Cons: I did not enjoy the breakfast at the hotel so I went with my friends to have breakfast at the coffe shop at the first floor next to the Family Mart. Very good location and a good place to start the day.

Cons: Hotel design is a little dated. Check-in/check-out process took some time. Seemed under-staff in the hotel concierge in the evening. Very limited choices in the hotel breakfast of the executive lounge.

So,it’s good enough to me.The hotel staff was helpful and nice.

Pros: Room size, deco, location, Italian restaurant, class
Cons: Always a treat to return but only at low season as it is an expensive establishment
10,0 Excellent
