No croissants available. However really friendly hotel with comfy beds
I requested no stair access due to limited mobility which they provided. However we were given a room at the furthest point from the main hotel building, which meant a walk across loose chippings. My mobility issues mean I also cannot walk any distance or across uneven ground. In retrospect it would have been better to negotiate the stairs to the rooms in the main building as the room allocated was too far away from all the hotels amenities resulting in a car journey to the main hotel building.
The view across to Catbells reminded us of climbs we made there. The bird feeding tables attracted a good variety of small birds. The nearby bus service was handy.
The hotel was very clean. It is situated in a good location, and the bed was very comfortable.
There could have been a separate lounge area for residents. There was only a small seating area next to the restaurant. The evening meals were ok, but were to a basic pub standard. The overnight emergency light in the bedroom was very bright.
Location and the staff were first class warm
Staff were really friendly room was bright and comfortable and very clean

Free parking is available. With the picturesque Borrowdale Valley all around, the Mary Mount has a peaceful country house atmosphere. Rooms have TVs and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel’s oak-panelled bar has a real open fire whilst the restaurant has large picture windows with spectacular views across the Lake. There is an à la carte menu and a regional wine list.
