Love the proper coffee in the rooms and retro sweets. Dan and team are really helpful and accommodating
The breakfast was very good with a choice of options
The room was just much smaller than I expected and mostly taken up by the bed. Having stayed in Brighton and Hove many times this does seem to be a common feature of staying in this seaside town. The room itself was well furnished and nice touches with tea and coffee etc. Also being at the back of the house it was quiet. It just needed to be a bit bigger to really satisfy our expectations. We did however get the room at a good off season rate so overall the stay did feel value for money.
Information about the stairs. 6 flights of stairs and a flight of steps is a bit much for eighty year olds.
Staff were really friendly and went out of their way to be helpful.
Room smelt damp and musty
Location and breakfast on the 2nd day only, not the first as not all items were available and we were first down for breakfast!
The rooms were not as described, tiny and the shower cubicle you had to be a size 8 or 30" waist to fit in. The hotel had a lot of wasted space down stairs which were very un inviting to sit in as our room was so small we figured we may have used these areas but not comfy. The parking having to pay every day £7 even if only there an hour. The milk was off in our room the shampoos and shower gel seemed odd at best no lather. Too much more I could say but biggest issue to me being a northerner was value for money. I felt robbed by it when I went on to compare with actual 4 star places we could have had. I do not know how they have a 5 star rating.
