Our child was being seen by a doctor at Texas Childrens Hospital, and it is an easy walk down the block and across the street. The hotel is very nice, beds are very comfortable, mini fridge in room, in room toiletries are above average, very nice shower with multiple heads, you can stream Netflix on their tv, which is a huge plus, Starbucks in the lobby that opens at 6 is a plus, also an overpriced gift shop where you can buy snacks, drinks or other things you may have forgotten. I recommend signing up for the Marriott rewards program even if you don’t plan on ever staying at another one again, reason being it gets you free internet. Otherwise it’s something like $17 or so? If you sign up for it though, make sure you write the number down. The girl behind the desk said she was going to email it to me, and I never got it. Now I have to contact Marriott to get it for my next stay. In her favor, she was very friendly and helpful. On this particular stay we also stayed on the concierge level. I don’t really think it was worth it. They had a concierge level room you could go to and get continental breakfast during a certain time, or a small dinner, which was fajitas, during a certain time. The room also had fountain drinks, 24 hr coffee, and bottled water. We were also told by the same girl when we checked in that it included breakfast on the 2nd floor, which is where they have their big breakfast buffet. So naturally we opted for that, only to be presented with a $70 check for breakfast for 3 people when it was supposed to be free. When we questened it they told us we were in the wrong restaurant, and that there was another on the 2nd floor. Well I’ve got to tell you, we’ve stayed in that hotel probably at least 25 times or so, and never noticed a second restaurant, nor was the correct one pointed out to us when instructions were given. They eventually comped the breakfast, but made us feel bad about it.
