8,3 Excellent
Pros: The best thing was the location was incredibly convenient. Also the room was very quiet.
Cons: There’s wasn’t much privacy around the bath/toilet/sink area. The bathroom sink was in the bedroom in effect.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is beautiful and incredibly convenient, located next to Hiroshima Station. Easy access to all public transit - bus, streetcar, and train.
Cons: Please allow for AC cooling lower than 15 degrees C. Some people sleep very warm, and this is still too warm when there are no fans.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful spacious rooms. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. They provided excellent customer service. Convenient to railway station. Would stay here again if I return to Hiroshima without a doubt.
5,4 Okay
Pros: It was right next to Hiroshima Station.
Cons: Room stunk of a mixture of different odors ranging from fish to spices to body odor.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location is convenient and perfect, located at the JR rail/Shinkansen station, with Hiroshima city streetcar station in front of rail station. Extremely clean, awesome beds, spa-like showers, great food, fun bar with Happy hour, easily-accessed smoking area outside the lobby, corner rooms with amazing views, English speaking staff, money-converting machine in lobby, A+ breakfast buffet, convenience stores located steps away in rail station and across the street.
Cons: All was basically perfect. Just know that the hotel is NOT "walking distance" to any tourist spots, but IS located steps from the rail and Shinkansen central station and a short walk to Hiroshima streetcar station which will take you all over the city for a few dollars. (¥160 or $1.60 to go direct to Atomic Dome and a museum). Restaurants are pricey but there are 7-Elevens in the rail station for late snacking.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent value for price. Very pleased with size of room and comfort. Staff so helpful and pretty good at speaking English. Bar was nice place to relax. Close to station and very convenient. Room service was nice as well.

Cons: Onsen facilities were ok.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The view outside of our room and the dinning room is very nice! No problem at all for commuting between pier and the hotel as the pick-up service is very easy to arrange even in the evening. Dinners and breakfasts all tasted great. Staff very friendly and helpful!
7,9 Good
Pros: The staff's hospitality were exceptional, as with all ryokans. A plus point is that they also speak perfect English.
Cons: Portion for dinner can be increased.

Cons: It stays a bit expensive
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The ryokan experience is very special and a great way to learn more about Japan and its people’s habits and food. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the whole ryokan experience! Great way to pamper yourself during your stay in Japan, especially on the beautiful island of Miyajima. Staffs and services were excellent. Free shuttle service to and from the port. After our check-in, they kept our luggages so that we can walk around town freely and they delivered our luggages to the port when we were done with a simple phone call. Place was clean and great sea view from our room.
Cons: Nothing
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The place is truly beautiful and special. Having said that, it's pretty isolated so it's not for anyone - e.g., there aren't any restaurant around. The dinner was a nice experience.
Cons: The staff was "over-motivated" to assist etc., but it didn't feel like they care about us - it felt like we are under constant surveillance. The atmosphere was pretty "Stressed" so i would recommend (and i know it's hard/impossible) - chill. This is a place to relax.
7,0 Good
Pros: Nice traditional place, in a beautiful setting.
Cons: They "hadn't received" our reply about needing a vegetarian meal, and were not flexible about changing it. They also didn't offer a bed or any food for our child (despite us booking half board for three), expecting her to share ours.

Cons: Private Room was a bit small but this is Japan!
9,1 Excellent
Pros: The staff was excellent. Except for a few stray hairs in the shower it was very clean. The beds are not that comfortable, but for $33 a night it was perfect. It is a no frills hostel, but we were very happy with our stay. They had a nice kitchen, books and games, laundry, and a cute roof. They even had bikes to rent.
Cons: Better mattresses would be the only thing that could improve.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great people, great location and great facilities :)
Cons: The only downside was no curtains in the bed which i don't even consider a downside :)
10,0 Excellent

Pros: super nice and helpful staff, the price is just really good and the location good!
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Good kitchen
5,0 Okay
Cons: Very noisy neighbours in the hostel. The walls are extremely thin (which is normal in Japan), but it would have been nice if the hostel would mention this upon check-in and ask the guests to be quiet at night.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Super clean bathrooms and common area, the futons are comfortable and the room was spacious. The location is also good, right on the tram line and walking distance to all the sights and naka ward. Check in and out a breeze and we could store our luggage when we arrived early without a hassle.
Cons: Both minor things, but the windows let through a draft and the room had a musty smell that we couldn't get out
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great living area, really nice to get free tea and coffee, good pod space with room for toe bag and a locker, excellent staff.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great hostel! Very clean, enough toilets and showers so we never had to wait. Towels can be rented for 100 yen. Coin laundry and dryer also available. The dryer is excellent, clothes were completely dry. The staff speak great English and are very helpful. Close to peace park, and tram!

Cons: Can’t fault it.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The location was ideal, less than 10 minute walk to Memorial Peace Park and A-Dome building, the staff were as ever during our trip around Japan utterly charming and always helpful and friendly, lots of great restaurants and bars in the local vicinity as well.
Cons: The bathroom although extremely clean and well equipped was very small and looked somewhat basic, but not really a big issue for us!
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent, friendly staff, good location -- although away from the main city centre. Usual high quality I'd expect from Mitsui Garden.
Cons: Fittings in the room were older than I'd expect. The corridors and lobby seem to have been refurbished recently, but the room as a little less new. This was a minor problem. Usual small room, but completely standard.

Cons: The breakfast was disappointing. Paid 2,500 yen, but isn't worth it.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Loved the room and our amazing sea view.
Cons: However, the room itself needed a deep clean! Stains all over the carpet and mattress- not good. The room price was reasonable but anything additional was overpriced, including breakfast, gym, spa etc. Breakfast was charged at 2500 yen pp. We paid 650pp at hoshini coffee at the train station for one of the best breakfasts, including coffee!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Staff were friendly and accommodating, the view from the restaurant and bar were amazing. Ferry to Miyajima Island was at the door. The food was great.

Cons: Room is super small. AC was not turned on, had to crack the window open and suffer the noise. A little pricey for such a small room.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Fairly sizeable room for your standard Japanese hotels. Hotel was in an excellent location, only a short 10 minute walk from Hiroshima station and even closer to a variety of malls and shopping areas. Peace Memorial Park and the bomb dome were a short walk away also. Mister Donut 1 block over and a Family Mark next door were super convenient. Staff were very helpful and spoke english very well.
Cons: Not the hotel's fault but there was only Japanese channels, nothing in English, not even CNN.

7,5 Good
Pros: Location was excellent. Room was quiet and comfortable. Transport was close by.
Cons: Check in, instructed to do so via a machine even though reception staff were free. Had to extend 2 extra nights due to the typhoon affecting my flight plans, 3 separate bookings meant 3 very different room rates. Very much inflated from the original.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable hotel room close to Peace Park & Museum. Superb value for the date I stayed.
7,0 Good
Pros: Receptionist !
Cons: The bed was too hard.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great, and got a good deal mid-week. Unfortunately I booked for just one night, had I know it was so nice I would stayed a few nights extra
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast. Rooms are bigger than your typical Japanese hotels. Staff are polite as expected and try their best to help you as much as possible.
Cons: Quite a bit of a walk from the bus terminaland may be difficult to find. Hotel was attached to a community centre
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Nice room. Very good location
Cons: Breakfast was just average.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Rooms were fine, a little run down but clean
Cons: They would let me park my road bike in the (unsecured, open) hotel parking lot for half the price of a car. That’s hardly an offer. I insisted it to be put inside, because I want it secure. After a lot of talk they made an “exception” and had me put it somewhere inside where there was space for 30 bikes and still charged me for it. Not looking to offer service but looking to make a profit at every possible opportunity.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is well located, with the Peace Memorial Park in walking distance and a bus stop in front of the gates. The receptionist spoke English very well.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The staff at this hotel was one of the most accomodating we experienced in the hotels in Japan. They were friendly and worked to help our stay be more pleasant. We were on the top floor of the hotel (the 7th) and one that in my opinion should be avoided. We could hear the sounds of pipes, air conditioning, hard rain etc. The staff worked hard to get us a different room and checked that we were ok after. Also, I should mention that we arrived earlier than check in time but were informed that our room was ready and were allowed to check in. A big plus as you are tired from traveling and other hotels made us wait til check in if we arrived early. The peace memorial is literally a 10 minute walk from there and the neighborhood was quiet and beautiful surrounded by trees and the rivers. The area offers a shuttle which is included in the rail pass and the shuttle takes you pretty much anywhere you want to go to in Hiroshima. The shuttle stops right in front of the peace memorial Park and near the site of the A- Bomb dome. We took the shuttle from the train station and walked to our hotel from there. Very easy to do. Additionally, Miyajima Island is easily accessible from here (shuttle to train station, short ride from train and ferry, all included in rail pass)We really enjoyed our stay here and Hiroshima is a very quiet, peaceful and beautiful city. We would love to go back some day.
Cons: The only thing I didn't like was being on the top floor as it was really noisy but that was resolved the next day (unfortunately not on the same night) when they moved us to another floor. They were very apologetic and helpful.
Chizuru Ryokan - Hiroshima - Building

8,3 Excellent (312 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Hiroshima City Centre, this guesthouse is within a 10-minute walk of Kyu Japan Bank, Hiroshima National Peace Memorial Hall for the Atomic Bomb Victims, and Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. Atomic Bomb Dome and Bell of Peace are also within 10 minutes. Fukuro-machi Station and Hondori Station are within a 5-minute walk.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location and helpful staff.
Cons: Had to pay in cash, one of the toilet's were continuously locked meaning a trip down a steep flight of steps to use the loo.
7,9 Good
Pros: Incredible hospitality, staff were very accommodating. Comfortable and close to everything, around the corner (3 mins from closest tram stop/train station). Would definitely stay here again.
Cons: The room wasn't exactly as shown/described. Thought it would be a little bigger/wasn't like photos shown when booking.
6,3 Good
Pros: The location is fantastic
Cons: The room is very small (did not match the photos) and basic. The bathroom and shower facilities are shared, which was not clear to me based on the description. Card payments are not accepted. I have been spoiled with the amazing hospitality and kindness at hotels and hostels everywhere in Japan so my expectations are probably too high, but I was not allowed to borough one of the umbrellas and was sent out in the pouring rain in the evening, which I have not experienced elsewhere. In short, I would say the hotel is fine but rather expensive for what you get.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were nice and big and comfortable, the amenities were very clean. The staff were so friendly and accommodating!
7,9 Good
Pros: Big traditional room, great location right near the peace park. Staff were very friendly in general and suggested a restaurant which turned out to be out favorite meal of the trip. Okonomiyaki!
Cons: No water in urn when we arrived, no coffee in coffee canister (we used our own in the end that we'd brought with us), not enough cups. We had come from a budget hostel at half the cost and more facilities included, it felt like this property was lacking in some of these offerings but it could have just been timing on our arrival. Easy fixes and should not deter.

Pros: Location on the water was perfect. Easy walk from/to the ferry. We had two luxury triple rooms (with private bathrooms) next to each other. Both had nice sitting areas (including a massage chair) with views of the water and the floating torii gate. Dinner served in the room was wonderful, and breakfast (served in the dining hall) was good, too. The futon was incredibly comfortable and there was a selection of pillows so you could choose what you liked. We spent 15 days in Japan and I had my best night's sleep here. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. We only only spent one night on Miyajima but we all felt we would have liked another day to see and do more. Another night at Kinsuikan would have been heaven.
Cons: The downside to the Japanese style rooms is that there's no place to lie down if you need to. Since we had just arrived in Japan the night before (from the US), we were still quite jet-lagged and after dinner all I wanted to do was go to bed but our futons hadn't been set up yet. If I had it to do over again I would still book a Japanese style room, but I might ask them to set up the futons sooner.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Everyone was nice, service was good, but not exceptional by Japanese standards.
Cons: Pricey for what it offers. I think they charge for 2 people so it was pricey because they do not give you more, just charges for 2

9,2 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful diner, very confortable, the sea view, the bath, the kindness of the staff, the shuttle which picks up your luggage if you come in the morning before check in.

Pros: The breakfast is good. There is a wide range though I still don't know why it's so hard to get a good coffee in Japan. They have a chef that can make an omelette for you which is a bonus. The location is great, so close to the Shinkansen station and 10minutes in a taxi to the main tourist attractions if that is what you are looking for.
Cons: I felt the staff could of been better considering the star rating and location of the hotel. Some were pleasant but some not so helpful. In one circumstance, I asked where to catch a taxi. I was told the opposite direction to catch a taxi. 2 were waiting but they were reserved and then I had to go to the other end of the hotel to catch a taxi outside the station. The staff were not at all apologetic. The rooms are small so be prepared but this is quite normal for Japan.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very helpful and went beyond to help us. The location was perfect as it was connected to the train station, the bar downstairs is also a must see!
Cons: Nothing, it was perfect!!

Pros: Amazing new, fancy and modern facilities
Cons: NA
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The room, the bar, the staff and sitting right above Hiroshima’s public transport hub could not be better.
Cons: Nothing.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Room - neat, bright and clean. we loved the shower and beneath the single bed actually there's another single bed! so me and my son can sleep well. Location - It is really at the Hiroshima Station, so we do need to walk too far to get into the train. shops and restaurants all over the places within the proximity of the station.
Cons: A bit too expensive but i guess its make sense since it was pretty new and located in a prime location.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This is the second time we have stayed here and we loved every minute. The hotel is situated just around the corner from the train station. There is easy access to a tourist bureau and there is a hop on hop off tourist bus that departs nearby. The foyer is just beautiful and the rooms are spotless. You really can't beat it location-wise. I would not stay anywhere else.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I arrived very early and was greeted by a very friendly staff at the concierge and offered to store my luggage so I could travel to Miyajima. When I returned in the afternoon, check in was very fast. The bag was already sent to my room. I was able to rest in no time. The next morning, I organised a bag transfer to Tokyo. Again, super helpful and friendly staff. Check out was pretty instant. Room is perfect size. Bed is comfy. Location is just fantastic. Amazing customer service. Overall it’s above my expectations. I wish to be back in the future.
Cons: None
9,7 Excellent
Pros: Great location at the train station and great views. Many restaurants in the hotel and around and a higher floor restaurant. Larger than typical room and very comfortable linens and details.
Cons: The maple loop tourist bus winter hours aren't very long. The restaurant and hotel is expensive.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Location is good being above Hiroshima train station and adjacent to shopping mall.
Cons: We stayed on the 20th floor. Noise from chair movement in the restaurant above our room on the 21st floor was bothersome. Some elements of the Japanese toilet did not function correctly.
