Pros: The venue and onsen were gorgeous. I was especially happy with the indoor and open air baths. It was great to try both sides of the onsens (they switch the men and women sides the next day). The staff spoke English and were very welcoming. They took the time to explain the scheduling for meals, they explained what was being served, and how to stay at a ryokan which was great for me since it was my first time trying it. From the ryokan all of miyajima’s sites are easily accessible. The staff also sends a free shuttle to pick you up at the ferry and they also hold your luggage once you check out.
Cons: The only small complaint was it was but hot in the room but it was easily solved by opening the window and turning off the heater.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: The location, in Miyajima’s Momijidani (“maple leaf valley”), cannot be beat. The bilingual staff were unfailingly kind and went out of their way to assist us: be sure to take advantage of their shuttle or their offer to transport your luggage to the ferry terminal so you don’t have to drag it to the boats yourself. The onsen baths were beautiful (though a tad small), and breakfast was healthy and served in ample portions.
Cons: The shinkan (new wing) rooms lack the aesthetic charm of the original building; carpets seem faded and the dining room needs a reworking in my opinion.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Personalized welcome, special care, delicious dinner, exquisite and quiet onsen. The location is ideal to explore the island for a few days.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Excellent location. The Onsen was perfectly located where you could hear the creek and see the lush trees. I had 5th floor corner room, so on one side I had lush beautiful trees and on the other side was a view of the ocean and temples. The Japanese breakfast and dinner were exceptional. I would suggest one or the other. I was too full from dinner to enjoy my breakfast. I ended up just having breakfast. Loved my stay!
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Beautiful architecture and grounds. View was impeccable!
Cons: Room was very small
Excellent 10,0
Pros: location、architecture style. feel so peaceful. every staff is hospitable.
Cons: breakfast
Excellent 10,0
Pros: This place is spectacular but it is definitely a very pricey experience.
Cons: On top of that we were also charged an onsen tax, which seems a bit out of touch.

Excellent 9,0
Pros: Location, clean, decoration, dinner & breakfast, beautiful spacious room with sea view and beautiful hot bath with great view !! Basically everything 😁
Cons: Nothing bad at all !! Just Torii under heavy constructions at the moment, impossible to see it.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Kurayado Iroha served dinner with a menu and explanation of each item in English. The location was ideal because it was next to plenty of shopping and restaurants within a short walking distance.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: What a magical place Miyajima is and Kurayado Iroha just adds to that magic. From the welcome when I dropped my luggage off in the morning to the farewell the following day I was treated to a very special experience. My room was beautiful, serene and relaxing, the addition of the nespresso machine a welcome bonus! I sat and watched the sun rise from behind the mountain sipping roasted tea. Dinner was exquisite, every course presented with a simple explanation, a more detailed written explanation was provided in both English and Japanese. Breakfast was equally delicious. The roof top onsen made the stay even more special. What a treat, sitting in a steaming hot bath watching dawn break over the island. I highly recommend a stay at Kurayado Iroha, for me, it was perfection.
Cons: Nothing!
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Superb location. I got a room with a fantastic Seaview. The room's interior design and decor are beautiful yet functional. Staffs are very attentive and friendly. Services are beyond expectations. Excellent traditional Japanese breakfast and dinner. Great variety of food made from local raw materials on the island. I definitely will come back and stay here again.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Excellent service, delicious foods served on trays.
Cons: The size of tables used to serve dinners and breakfasts for 2 persons is too large. And when covered with white table cloth, it gives an unattractive white expansive space. Cosiness of the dining room should be created with smaller tables, softer lighting and more appropriate music.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Beautiful and spacious room with sea view. The natural mix of Japanese and Western styles was really nice. Very smiling and helpful staff, with excellent English level. Excellent diner. Nice onsen on top floor. Great location, extremely convenient.
Cons: Not much. A bit pricey, but it is worth it.
Excellent 9,2
Pros: The staff treated you like a God. The beds were extremely nice, the onsen was beautiful with the outside bath. The food was one of the best that I have ever taken in my entire life and the view made it complete.
Cons: The room was pretty warm because the air conditioning was on heating. Everything was written in Japanese so I had no idea. However opening the window fixed the problem.

Excellent 10,0
Pros: Fantastic host! The room was very clean and comfortable. The food was amazing
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Amazing time here. Staff and owner are so helpful. Food was tremendous, too.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The family running this Ryokan were wonderful. The paid lots of attention to us and gave us an extraordinary dinner including traditional robes to wear and course after course of really special food.
Cons: Lobby / common dining area could use a bit of refurbishing.
Excellent 8,3
Pros: Extremely friendly and helpful staff!
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Wonderful owner and staff that made us feel welcomed . They were most helpful. Traditional setting with lots of personality. We had a lovely stay.
Cons: The people and the generous meals
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Food is fantastic!
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Great location close to the ferries. The hotel is so close (2') but it can be hard to be spot. The staff is so kind. We had the half board and the food was so great! Futons were already prepared (differently from other places) so that you can immediately relax in your room. Great breakfast as well (tried both continental and eastern).
Cons: The curfew is a bit too early in the evening.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The host is an adorable lady who would do anything to make you feel at home. The ensuite bedroom (Japanese style) was spacious and very clean. Amenities and cold water provided. I had half board. The 7 course meal/dinner( yes,7!!!) was sumptuous. The Japanese style breakfast was delicious. I can highly recommend this place, as it is also very close to the ferry and the town.
Cons: Nothing!
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Lovely hosts that made us feel very welcome. We were sad to leave this place and also this beautiful island. Amazing dinner as well !
Cons: i cannot think of anything. all was great!
Excellent 9,7
Pros: Great spot right by the ferry. Owner (Teppei) was super nice and very funny. He made sure to explain everything about our room and also how to properly eat Japanese meals. He also provides local sights on the island and what you should do in chronological order. We had a Japanese style room with private bath and partial ocean view, very clean and spacious. You can order western or Japanese meals, but our Japanese meals was excellent! You won't be disappointed with this place, great value compared to other high end ryoken on island
Cons: It's an older building and not very appealing from the outside, but the rooms and dinner are all excellent!

Pros: Staff was very friendly. I liked the location it felt very quiet and serene. Our room was traditional Japanese room which we enjoyed a lot, lots of space and beautiful sea view. Also, having onsen on the property was amazing. Breakfast was included which is again very nice. We truly enjoyed our stay. And again a big thank you to staff for being so helpful and welcoming! Should I come back to Miyajima this hotel will be my number 1 choice.

Excellent 8,0
Pros: Very friendly service. Offered to pick me up as the hotel is at the top of a small hill. Nice hot springs baths. Dinner and breakfast are available if you want.
Cons: I could hear the guy next to me coming in and out, slamming his door and talking on the phone. I could hear him snoring early in the morning too.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Classic, sleek & clean
Good 6,0
Pros: The hot foot bath just outside the hotel was great especially since it was snowing. They staff was very kind and polite. We appreciated the Japanese style breakfast.
Cons: The size of the room was much smaller than we thought or what we saw on-line. When we booked the room, we included that our 5-year son would be with us but the reservation only listed 2 adults so the hotel charged us extra when they saw him. There is no kids meal for breakfast and we paid full price for our child.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: The public bath
Excellent 9,0
Pros: The manager of the hotel (Hiroshi Matsumoto San) was super friendly and helpful. He personally picked us up from the ferry station and then even courteously offered to drive us to restaurants for dinner. He made some good recommendations for dinner even ones catering to our vegetarian needs. The hotel has an amazing outdoor and indoor Onsen, not to mention a free foot bath at the entrance. There are different pattern yukatas you can borrow from the front desk area. We had a normal room with an ensuite toilet but no ensuite bathroom. Our friends booked a traditional Japanese room (tatami mat) that had an ensuite bathroom as well. Both rooms were clean and the next time I come here, I will try the Japanese room. The place is walking distance to all the main attractions of the island like the ropeway to Mt. Misen. The staff are very accommodating, helpful and speak good English as well.
Cons: It was not a big issue but our room didn’t come with an ensuite bathroom. The staff were very accommodating and told us they could switch our room to another room with an ensuite bathroom. We decided not to switch as we were intent on utilizing their wonderful onsen.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Super helpful and friendly staff, a must-stay on this beautiful island
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Breakfast was amazing
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The staff was very kind and helpful. It was raining when I arrived. They drive me to dinner and picked me up. And they offer a free shuttle to and from the ferry terminal. Great public bath.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The staff is very nice and helpful ! The onsen is beautiful and quiet, one bath is outdoor and there is a footbath ...
Cons: The small double bed is very small : 120 cm

Excellent 9,0
Pros: It was wonderful!! The view from the room and the atmosphere and cleanliness were so peaceful. I was very comforted and please with the measures they took against Corona - some services were cancelled, and temperature etc was taken. The staff were incredible!! They used English for me as much as possible, they accommodated my dietary requirements (halal), the lobby staff immediately responded to and helped with all my questions and queries, and the waiter at breakfast was lovely - shout out to the Bangladeshi waiter!! Very kind!! I want to stay here again! The food was very good, free refills on rice and miso soup with the Japanese style breakfast. The shuttle bus driver between the hotel and the station was also very nice - offered me a timetable print (though I wasn't returning to the hotel). The hotel onsen was hands down the nicest hotel onsen I've stayed in - so spacious and very nice decoration. Not much variation in bath temperatures, but I don't mind that. I went to both baths, and was the only one there. I stayed the day before the new state of emergency came into effect (today) and was very impressed with the staff/what amenities were still running. Thank you!
Cons: There weren't any usb charging ports in the room, and only one free plug socket. (But they did provide one when I asked at the desk) There wasn't an insect-protector screen in the balcony door/window. I chanced it and had it open for the beautiful air and view...instant regret as night fell and my room was FULL of mosquitoes... (So I guess, also that there was no method of insect repellent? Like a spray or a coil or incense) It wasn't clearly written what amenities were cancelled due to Corona, neither on the website nor around the hotel, in Japanese nor English (but they were very nice at the front desk when I asked!)
Okay 5,0
