Pros:Customer service at Palatine location was excellent!Cons:The car I requested was not available. My rate was adjusted and the team member and I found a car together that worked for me. No complaints, but it would’ve been nice to have the SUV. The car also had a distinct smell as if the previous renter had smoked A LOT of cigarettes inside of it. It was not unbearable, but I got out of the car smelling like the cigarettes. In retrospect, I would’ve found a vehicle without the smell.Reviewed Jun 6 2020

Won't use Hertz againCons:They don't write in the price of the insurance which doubles the price of the car. I asked if I could have the insurance fee removed and they told me to drive back to the pick up location which I did and when I got there they told me if they took the insurance off they would have to close out my reservation and start a new one which would charge me twice for the initial day. Very frustrating and they were not very helpful.Reviewed Nov 15 2017
