2,0 Mediocre
Pros: The location was disappointing and rather bleak. Breakfast was not included and there was no food option.
Cons: The accommodation is very dated and felt more like a hostel. The shared facilities are poor., On arrival we were told to remove our shoes which we expected in Japan but not quite so urgently. Then we had our photograph taken. and payment taken, After quite a long journey it would have been nicer to had a more relaxed welcome,
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location on tram line from Hakodate station with very obliging and attentive hosts. A pleasant alternative to standard hotel accommodation.
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The guests are so communicative and welcoming. The room was like in a traditional Ryokan with tatami floor. All very clean. Location was very good to explore Hakodate. Not a big deal but maybe they can consider offering breakfast :)
Cons: Nothing
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The house and room are clean and the hosts are very friendly.
Cons: Nothing so far!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: I didn't try the breakfast, but the facilities in the room and the host's attitude impressed me a lot, the location is also very good, which is close to lots of landmarks there. Last but not least, the host drove us to JR station, that was a surprise. And I remember it rained heavily in the morning, but he drove us safely to the station, much appreciated his help.
Cons: My friend - Cherry left her doll - a very cute Monchhichi which was bought in Okinawa besides the pillow on the bed, what's pity, she emailed to the host, but the feedback was they didn't see this doll. But she did leave this doll on the bed and was willing to bear the delivery cost. Anyway, it was a pity during the trip.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: The suit is big & comfort! I love its modern style. Everyday the staff will prepare two pieces of local snacks for you. The breakfast is awesome! I love the in-room onset very much. Top recommendation for Hakodate onsen-love travelers!
Cons: The place is sort of inconvenient for public transportation. However the staff can always help you hail a taxi within minutes
9,6 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in the Japanese Modern Suite with Bath and the experience blew us away - the room is extremely spacious and comfortable, and the private onsen is amazing. It's big enough for 3 people to sit comfortably in (though we used it 1 at a time) and it's just an amazing feeling having an onsen all to yourself. We also took the half-board option and the dinner and breakfast were both excellent, with a huge variety of dishes and served as a course meal. Staff were very friendly and could speak some English and were always ready to help.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It was spacious, comfortable and everything was in good condition. A nice mix between modern and traditional. The food and private dining spaces were also very good and the area is very peaceful. They also provided a lot of snacks and drinks that were in the room. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay. Highly recommend!
Cons: Nothing.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Most of it.
Cons: You can have some vending machine somewhere in the hotel. Since there’s only tea/beer/water in each room. If I want some soda, juice, or coke, I have to walk a long way to find some outside, especially after 9pm, so difficult.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff. Check-in comprised of an invitation to sit for tea and very nice confections while they deal with the rigmarole of confirming your reservation details. Wonderful facilities. Wonderful room (Wa-Modern suite). The in-room private onsen-fed bath was excellent. Wonderful water. Bath is perfectly sized for a couple to enjoy (three might be a doable if you're small). The in-room private sauna was a great surprise and was utilized multiple times as well. Excellent Japanese-style breakfast. Room was constantly stocked with water, beer, and hot/cold teas along with a changing selection of confections. Beautiful views out both the guest room as well as the sitting area outside the rooftop onsen. Excellent coffee and tea, and free for all guests at the downstairs cafe (which features a great view as well).
Cons: Some Japanese ability is needed to converse with most of the staff you meet post-check-in. Was difficult to convey details related to how the room was/could be set up (when to set out the futon, for example). Dinner was good but a little on the expensive side. Compared to the personal bath/onsen, the rooftop onsen doesn't offer quite so many reasons to visit.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The onsen and massage chairs. Hotel was very nice too. The suite was beautiful.
Cons: The price for the suite was a bit expensive.
10,0 Excellent
Cons: Hotel had no concierge services, poorly staffed reception and most staff were unable to converse in English. The lounge on ground floor overlooked the Japanese Garden which was poorly maintained and so unlike any other Japanese garden we’ve seen. At almost all times, the hotel lobby was empty and the Long Bar devoid of any guest. So the hotel didn’t have any lively feel to it yet we were told it was full! The room ceiling is thin and each night we heard the guests on the floor above running around their bedroom which disrupted our sleep. And the room layout was poor with one step down going out of the room to the entrance area and the toilet and shower rooms and a step up to get into these rooms. Elderly persons and kids could trip easily with the steps and over at least three different types of slippers per person lying around.

7,0 Good
Pros: Quite well situated. The owner took the trouble to inform me through booking.com of the noise problem being near to the station. As I was The only guest there wasn't any issue of noise from the next room but I guess that must be quite unbearable otherwise, the wall is like cardboard...
Cons: The steep stairs to climb when there is no washing basin upstairs. I understand that it is a old house but this is quite inconvenient. I did not try the shower as I went to nearby onsen. Breakfast was kind of unexpected, humus and pita bread...But for a place that serves coffee, they should know better how to prepare something that doesn't look like strong tea!!! That was tasteless and surely doesn't keep you awake like the passing trains!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Good hospitality , clean , comfortable , cute decorations , near Hakodate train stn , feel like home Ps. My family and I love staying here so much. It is worth a stay.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: very clean and cozy. daily necessities are nicely prepared.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: I like the service provided by tbe staffs, they are every warm, and caring. The facilities in this room is great, and very clean comforu. This place is so nearby to the JR station, morning market. It's worth to stay here. We booked 3 nights in Japanese style rooms check in 21/12 and check out 24/12. When we arrived 21/12 Sat, The staff informed Saturday night would be noisy, they asked if we want to change room to western style for one night, 2 nights stay in Japanese style, and he showed you both rooms before you made the decision. I would say he is very professional and caring even though he speak little English. Thanks , my husband and I had a good memory here in Hakodate.

8,8 Excellent

4,2 Okay
Pros: View from the hotel of the harbor is nice, but fairly low. Towels were fluffy. The location is okay, depending on where you want to go. It’s closer to the brick area and the ropeway.
Cons: The hotel is quite dated and you’ll feel it as soon as you walk in. The hotel also felt like a ghost town. Hardly anyone was here and we wondered why! The rooms had a very musty aroma and the beds weren’t great. It was incredibly overpriced for what it was and the booking score doesn’t reflect the reality. We spent our two days in Hakodate wishing we had booked elsewhere.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent. 5-minute walk from brick warehouse and 10-minute walk from ropeway entrance. You can see a beautiful ocean and lights every night and day from the window. Also it's quite because it's away from other hotels. You won't find noisy group tourists in Winning hotel. Staffs were kind also. You won't have trouble speaking English there. One of the best accommodation during my trip in Hokkaido.
Cons: Far from market and Hakodate station. (But I think they will provide pick-up service)

Pros: This hotel provided us a really great living experience in Hakodate. Staff are so nice and friendly. The room is spacious and cosy, we even had a little kitchen and a small balcony in the room which made us feel very homie.
