9,6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location. Quiet, quirky and really charming village. Uninterrupted bird song Was gutted that we could not spend more time there and put some miles in on the mountain bikes.
Cons: Planning where to it can be a bit of a thing, as some of the seasonal restaurants have closed down. This did little to detract from our enjoyments, it is just a matter of getting good intel from the locals.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Our room had a nice balcony and the view to the valley was great. No dinner possibility at the hotel. The town is quiet and sympathetic. A few restaurants in the village.

Pros: Nice view, quiet location with spacious balcony, even parking was ok. Breakfast is superb, they really know how to pay attention to guests. Had big variety, was all fresh and plenty.
Cons: For some reason charge was a few euros more than on the confirmation, which already inlcuded the tourist tax. Just a few coins, it just felt strange. Otherwise all nice and well there.

Parkhotel Flora - Bad Grund - Building

9,1 Excellent (343 reviews)
R1 070+
Overview Reviews
This hotel offers cosy rooms near the centre of Bad Grund, directly next to a modern sports and spa complex. It is free for guests and has a 32°C salt water pool and gym with professional trainer. Parkhotel Flora provides apartments with a fully equipped kitchen, bright living area with a HD-TV, separate bedroom and south-facing balcony or terrace. All bathrooms are equipped with a shower. Regional and international meals are served in the Flora's restaurant. Fish dishes are served every day. The spa includes a sauna, solarium and a Kneipp foot bath. Guests are also welcome to relax in the garden and bowling area. The Harz Mountains can be explored from this central location.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Nice apartment with fully equipped kitchen, would be ideal for longer stays and using it as a base for exploring Harzen. The breakfast costs 6 Euros and it is fit for a king with a bit of everything, mostly home or locally made would be my guess. Price is very reasonable, I stayed one night, had a 2 course dinner with wine and breakfast and paid 106 Euros in total. There is a sauna that the staff prepare for you on demand. In my case, a private sauna! Would recommend, just be aware that the location is a bit remote, you have to drive 4km if you want to go a decent supermarket.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Alles war top
Cons: Alles war super gut
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Large room, clean, very quiet, great breakfast.
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Turned out to be more of a mini-apartment than hotel room. Spacious, quiet, and quaint. Great breakfast and very friendly staff
9,2 Excellent
Pros: We very much enjoyed our stay at the Parkhotel Flora. There was more than enough space for our family of 4, and the pool across the street was small but nice and relaxing. The breakfast was great, with eggs, pancakes, and sausages available, and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. The town itself is set in the mountains with plenty of forest around. I wish we could have stayed longer and done some hiking.
Cons: This is not the hotel's fault, but it was tough to go very long, at least during the day, without breathing cigarette smoke somewhere. Hoping to get some fresh air through the balcony windows, we were instead regularly met by smoke from other guests and passers-by. Even at the pool, smokers stood right outside the entrance, contaminating the air inside. Naturally, this defeats the purpose of a "kurort", and unfortunately it is a problem throughout Germany. Perhaps permitting smoking only in specifically designated closed spaces would be one feasible solution.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Hat alles was man braucht, super nettes Personal

Pros: Great shower, clean and brand new place. Very helpful staff.
Cons: Breakfast at 12€ was a ripoff.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, extremely clean, spacious rooms, very quiet, and very central location.
Cons: Perfect for us as a family wanting to see Goslar by foot. But sharing the place with elderly care-needing residents means you should not go here if you look for parties or a romantic get-away :-)
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, breakfast and service.
Cons: No air conditioning. We didn't expect to be the only one young people among very old others because the Hotel is an integral part of a House for Old people.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The stay at this property was perfect. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. The gym was very nice and the receptionist who welcomed us was super kind. Thank you!

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The apartment was spacious and beyond clean. The location was amazing and the staff, especially Frau Saraci was both kind and professional.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The room was nice and big and very comfortable beds. Location is also great. In general good place to stay overnight.
Cons: Couldn't connect to wi fi at all and the staff couldn't help with this issue. The restaurant was on site but we have been told they don't have it and sent us to find some other place to eat. The breakfast was not great. For this big hotel the breakfast area is very small and selection of food is just basic with lots of things finished an hour before the breakfast was due to finish.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Good to reach from the station, nice reception, perfect breakfast, situated in the middle of the medieval city, loved it!
Cons: Perfect Apartment!

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely building, friendly staff, excellent location. Easy and quick drive to the mines. Short walk to restaurants and old square.
Cons: Slightly awkward door opening at the top of the stairs (which opens outwards). You have to stand on the steps to open...
7,9 Good
Pros: Extremely nice personnel (!), nice breakfast and large breakfast room, sparkling bathroom with great water pressure, clean room, comfy bed, good-sized family suite. The very pleasant staff made up for some of the this old hotel's aesthetic shortcomings. (It can be hard to make historical buildings into comfy hotels, but if the "charm factor" is high enough, these things don't always matter).
Cons: Facilities not quite up to the three-star rating / price of the room; unspectacular aesthetics (chairs rather worn, lobby, courtyard, & common spaces a bit cramped; dated decor); creaky floors and noisy doors. While It can be hard to make historical buildings into comfy hotels, we advise a bit more in the building's "charm factor". Time to update the 1960s aesthetic.
9,2 Excellent

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location for visiting the city. Helpful and courteous staff. Wonderful breakfast selection - delicious coffee.
Cons: Storage space in room for luggage; I am not a fan of clothes hangars that are not mobile but are "hooked" to the rack in the closet; I am not a fan of the small plexiglass cubicle showers (although the water was hot and pressure was good)
7,1 Good
Pros: Clean spacious rooms.
Cons: The beds are covered with a industrial style sheets, they make a loud noise when you move around though the beds were comfortable.
7,9 Good
Cons: No aircondition or cooling Very small vindows
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Traditional hotel, well maintained, clean and spacious rooms. Very friendly staff, great breakfast. Goslar is a very pretty town, and the location of the hotel is a good compromise in that it is easy to get to (with on-site parking in locked garage) and close to the city center.
Cons: Our room was very noisy, we could literally hear the conversations in the room nextdoor. I'm afraid the neighbours on the other hand didn't sleep all too well because of our baby waking up in the middle of the night.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Location as close to railway station so I could get to the HSB at Wenigerode.
Cons: No A/Con.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Free parking, fantastic location, and the room amenities.
Cons: Nothing
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Clean and spacious. Great WiFi. Quiet. Lots of good restaurants nearby, including ones with great, inexpensive breakfasts.
Cons: Driving in was rather complex and sometimes a little tight, but the reward was the central location.
7,5 Good
Pros: Unique 2-floor room setup with bedroom and bath on top and entrance and "living room" on bottom. It was nice but meant that there was a running up and down the steps.
Cons: It could have been better if there was access to water "down-under". For example, the coffee machine had to have water from the bathroom sink
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The location on the main square. It was close to restaurants and the shopping area. We were glad of the air conditioning too.
Cons: The parking lot was a bit difficult to find.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel cannot be better. It has its own parking lot and the personnel was great
8,3 Excellent
Pros: A nice location with recently renovated rooms, a solid breakfast, and private parking make this a nice option in Goslar.
Cons: Renovated rooms while spacious have a sleeping loft which is a bit of a challenge for older guests.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Dinner was very good. The staff was courteous and helpful. The room was large and comfortable for people without any disability. Convenient location. Ambiance was nice. If travelling without anyone with mobility challenges this is a great place to stay.
Cons: Directions for parking. I found it very confusing to find where to park. My GPS, using the hotel address wanted to take me to the front of the hotel in the square which is not intended for car access. The staff was not clear at all how to drive to the parking area in the back. I parked elsewhere and walked back from the parking lot to where I was parked to figure out the route, many one-way streets in the area make it confusing.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location was very good, bar service was also good and food was very good
Cons: Maybe a little more effort to clean the bathroom, particularly the yellow discoloured cement between the tiles was not pleasant to see. Better when exterior work is finished
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were clean, large and traditional
Cons: Nothing
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel now serves a continental breakfast that for us included croissants, rolls, apples, and sliced meats and cheeses, plus a Nespresso machine. If you want more (we didn’t), they also give you a card good for 10% off at their co-owned restaurants. The hotel has a great location in the city center, with a lot of dining options nearby—we picked Brauhaus Goslar and were glad we did. Parking is behind the hotel in the second courtyard off of Charley-Jacob-Straße 3—there are signs visible from the street for both the hotel parking and a city parking garage that shares the same driveway.
Cons: WiFi reception in Room 1 was sporadic. I got a strong signal in the parking lot behind the hotel, so WiFi may be better in the back rooms.

Pros: The hotel is a bit outdated, but for us it gave a nostalgic feel to it. The room was big, with a nice bathroom. Reception was super friendly and helpfull.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Good clean basic accommodation at the right price. Big room with tv and bed to match
Cons: No breakfast avaliable
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Large Flatscreen! Kitchen included Coffee maker, toaster, salt&pepper Much space to live
Cons: No Coffee for the Coffee maker Switching the prigrams in television was quite difficult.
7,5 Good
Pros: Really friendly and helpful owner. Convenient location.
Cons: A bummer that the (vegan) breakfast service is no longer available. On a side note, to me the rooms look somewhat outdated, but call it charm. The beds creaked, which wasn't too big of a deal to me personally, but added to the impression
9,2 Excellent
Pros: We arrived after regular reception hours due to horrendous traffic. We advised hotel before and staff would stay longer (at additional charge). We got upgraded to (newer) accommodation, however, due to misunderstanding less suitable for our party. Since reception was closed we could not change immediately but Marion was friendly and accommodating to change day after to meet our preferences. Great and quiet location. Restaurants nearby. Good value for money. Can make use of external facilities (pool /sauna) at small fee in next door apartment building. We will certainly come back again.
Cons: Some points to consider for improvement (but can be managed): Limited reception hours (close at 20.00h) can be disturbing if you need to contact staff at short term notice (no 'emergency' phone). Check out at 10.00 a.m. quite early.
4,2 Okay
Pros: Very modern bed, as we were told very expensive, but rather uncomfortable, at the end of the night we both had aching neck
Cons: Really very small room (Nr.11), no heating in spite of 10 degressC during night outside, TV with 5 programs only, uncomfortable remote control old fashioned, TV located at the head side of bed, Internet could not be put into operation, explanation not understandable and not as usual in other hotels, breakfast was offered in principal, but not before 8:30 too late, recommanded to go to other restaurant, staff not really friendly (I should pay extra for "high security parking", parking along the street was possible)
7,9 Good
Pros: The woman from the reception was super friendly. The room facing the lake is marvellous, views are wonderful. Quiet location, perfect to discover the town. I will come back if I return to Hahnenklee.
Cons: The radio in the room didn't work
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Goslar-Hahnenklee is a "Luftkurort" (clean air). There is a beautiful lake and the hotel is right on the spot overlooking this lake. The couple that runs this hotel + cafe is nice, speaking even Dutch. We got room 23 which offers a great view from the window on the lake. The beds are high quality hotel beds, there are two big chairs, a TV and Wifi is OK (every 30 minutes you need to re-click the hotspot-page). The bathroom is fine and there are lots of towels. We didn't take the breakfast. Nearby there are lots of restaurants. We tried 'Steffens', which offers a super salat bar. Hahnenklee is a great place for walking. We did walk around the lake and the small town. Highly recommended for senior people
Cons: On the beds there are huge cushions. In the corridor there are smaller cushions available.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful people, good breakfast and good value for the money
Cons: There is nothing I didn't like

Pros: Perfect breakfast, freindly staff, nice rooms, wonderful clean bathroom. Perfect spot for mountain bike riding.
6,7 Good
Pros: The staff was really helpful and friendly, the view over to the lake is fantastic. Breakfast was really good, with quite a wide selection, that was constantly refilled.
Cons: The hotel most definitely did not meet my expectations to a 4 star hotel. The toiletries in the bathroom were barely there - just two-in-one shower gel and shampoo. The bathroom itself had mould. In order to eat in the hotel's restaurant, food has to be pre-ordered day in advance.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location with a nice view on the lake. Room was quite modern(compared to other hotels in the area) (Nordic style). Friendly staff and good facilities like bike-room, wellness, sitting area with bar and outside terras.
Cons: Room could have been a little bit cleaner (dust behind doors etc(details))
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Most comfortable bed we have encountered this trip once the mattress topper had been sorted. For some inexplicable reason on one bed the topper was upside down, dimpled instead of flat! Dogs were not allowed in the restaurant so we had breakfast in the lobby which was spacious and quiet. The interior decor and fittings were all very stylish.
Cons: Too many steps! Fortunately our room was at the front with a terrace so suitcases didn’t have to be lugged up and down. The surface of the terrace was very rough sharp stones which was uncomfortable for our dog to walk and lie on.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was really good, with excellent choices. The view from the terraces are excellent, the lake in front is lovely, the staff was super helpful, the facilities are nice and comfortable.
Cons: the entrance to the spa is not good, you need through to the restaurant where there might be people eating. Not nice at all!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place for a wedding,...! Open, warm & welcoming!

7,5 Good
Pros: Nice indoor pool. Large breakfast area, good breakfast overall. Newly refurbished rooms but the rest of the hotel was a bit dated.
Cons: Long way from the town center. Small parking area but you coulf park in the street in front of the hotel
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Clean tidy and nice staff we liked it idea of the choice of buffet or pick off menu, the buffet was great value for money
Cons: No Shampoo in shower when we arrived, not replaced the following day told reception in all fairness they would have got housekeeping to replace it right away, but I said just do it when room is serviced the next day it was replaced by soap the same as was there. If the maid can’t get a simple thing like that right it makes you wonder what else was missed.

Pros: In germany their is problem with the heat outside and not many hotels have any form for aircondition in the rooms, so sleep is not easy. That was also the problem in our stay in Freiburg the day before. This message should have been in the next boks!

Pros: Perfect location, big rooms and excellent breakfast.
7,9 Good
Pros: Hotel is probably still the best in the center of Clausthal. Easy free parking at the hotel, easy checkin . Ok rooms. Beds were comfortable. AC worked fine . Good and very inexpensive breakfast. Staff was very friendly. Hotel has its own steak restaurant with interesting menu. Hotel is located right at the end of Clausthal´s main shopping street with s few restaurants and stores.
Cons: Internet in 2nd floor rooms never worked; not even at the staircase in the middle of the building, owner said they had repeaters installed to solve the problem , but repeaters were removed by guests in the past ...Hm. Remote control of TV did not work either, even after battery replacement. Lot of noise in the night with rooms towards the street (can't blame the owners for 5am street noise though);
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: No GYM
6,7 Good
Pros: It is good. Bit expensive.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant was very good and we really enjoyed our meal. We were disappointed it was not open on the Sunday night which meant we had to dine elsewhere. The hotel exceeded our expectations in that it had been totally refurbished but still had atmosphere and references in foyer to Clausthal's past history.
Cons: The fact that after hours you needed to swipe your key card to open the front door caused us a problem because, the instructions were only in German/ That made it difficult and caused some anxiety as we thought we may be locked out. We thought the door would open by swiping and pulling or pushing door - but one had to turn the lower doorknob to the left (a bit unusual). Still, when we phoned from nearby coffee shop the owner/member of staff came and met us at the door so all was well. Just a warning, though, to English speakers to check on how to open the door. We suggested that instructions in English be added, so hopefully that has been done!
