The hotel has a grand feel about it with a grand entrance, sizeable lobby and attractive bar/ restaurant. It is maybe a little worn out but at the price is a clean comfortable value for money place to stay if visiting the area. I was travelling with my daughter who has a gluten intolerance, which can create issues at breakfast time at many hotels. At this hotel the morning waiter was very helpful, bringing a good selection of fruits, ham, cheese having discussed what was available. Thankyou. This was my second stay here.
The only problem was that there was no plug for the bath. We fashioned a quick and effective remedy that served the purpose of soaking our aching limbs.
The cleaner who got me a 2nd paraffin heater for the windy wet bathroom.
Everything . The place was dark cold wind was blowing through the windows which were old the shutters were broken the heating did not work the thermostat was hanging off the wall exposed wires the bathtub had patched up holes the water leaked out. The tv was all Spanish the breakfast was a slice of bread I had to beg for an egg. The place was horrible i checked out a day early. If your not spanish then I think they view you as not important. Disgraceful for booking.com to even have this as a 2 star. When did they send anybody to check this place. I am seriously wondering if booking.com is bothered about anything but money now. As i wrote to them and recieved no response. Totally disgusted by the whole thing. The photos of the place are not a true likeness . I may even go as far as advertising standards. Someone needs to be responsible
Bar / restaurant staff were very pleasant & I got to use the garage to park my motorcycle.
If you get room to 215 you need to turn the cold water off under the sink otherwise it runs constantly!
An old hotel with character - spacious rooms, interesting period decor and a lift!! Food was plentiful and tasty. We found off road parking nearby. A good starting point for exploring the villages of the Barranco de Poqueira nearby.
Great hotel, great location, great staff. Will return again soon.
Not a lot, it was all good.
