Well located, accommodating staff for what they have to work with. But still not worth it!
It’s dirty, all areas of the hotel have not been maintained. The pictures are outdated and lead you to believe otherwise. I don’t recommend unless your stuck/desperate to find a place to sleep.
Some of the staff were excellent and very helpful. Great to have had access to a doctor in-house for a medical emergency -thanks.
Rooms could be noisy. Shower was not great: not well maintained and the shower head was broken.
The property is very run down and does not look like the featured photographs. Especially the pool area which is incredibly run down - large tiles missing, dirty water, broken chairs ect. The bar was also not what we expected - barely a bar. The shower needed repeated fixing & attention from staff. The bathroom had a constant bad smell. In the end we checked out early - loosing a night’s money - because on the whole, it was a bit depressing!
The generation condition of the property - it all needed drastic maintenance. Our shower was broken & there was a constant sewage smell from our bathroom.
Beautiful old colonial building, excellent art work, big rooms, comfy beds, clean, nice to relax by the pool with a cocktail.
The focus is the cacao museum and spa. No drinking water for guests, pool and bar close at 6pm, no communal kitchen, staff are pleasant but unable to help with tours or onward travel and I felt like a massive inconvenience to them every time I asked a question - they only want to sell you spa treatments. Pool staff are lovely. Pool needs cleaning - lots of duck feathers.
Great location, beautiful colonial mansion.
We're not usually ones to write a bad review, but here it felt warranted; the staff, especially at the café, is extremely rude and uncaring. Once, we walked into the café and tried to order something (we speak spanish and were polite) they laughed in our faces then stared into nothingness for 5 minutes, so we left. Breakfast was by far the worst we had in Nicaragua, so after the first night we ate elsewhere. Our showerhead broke on the first use (it's an old house, no problem) but when we informed the staff of this they said they'd fix it, but never did. The hotel keeps a few loud dogs that pee inside. And the wifi is so slow that it's unusable during daytime.
