Cons: The room could have been somewhat bigger. For two people traveling for weeks, there was not much space to open even one suitcase in the otherwise comfortable room. Also, there were neither air conditioning nor a safe in the room of a four-star hotel.

Cons: Although the bathroom was not brand new, nothing was missing or broken. We do not like so much span carpet.

Pros: Wonderful hotel in a historic building, very well kept, room was spacious, clean, comfortable and with a fantastic view, exceptionally good breakfast in a beautiful room, attentionate and friendly staff. We loved staying here and will for sure come back whenever next in Görlitz.
Cons: The only small reamark is the indoor temperature. Luckily it was not too hot in Görlitz during our night of stay but with higher temperatures outside it might well get too hot in the room. Understandable that there cannot be airco in a historic building of this nature but a separate fan in the room would be a good idea.

Cons: Staff friendliness could be better. I am expecting more for "the best hotel in town". A room to the backyard as I had is terrible. There is noise from the outside restaurant in summer until midnight including staff cleanup. And in the morning the staff starts preparation of breakfast shortly after 6:00 am. Closing the window is not possible during summer since there is no aircondition in the room. Fitness capabilities very limited.

The 12:00 checkout was very convenient, giving me enough time to walk around historic Gorlitz and the Polish side of the Neisse River in Zgorzelec. I'm already looking forward to future visits.

Pros: We enjoyed staying in Hotel Europa: staff was very nice and helpful, reception lady speaks English(which is rare case in Gorlitz), prices are fair, it's possible to park a car on internal parking (7,5 eur/24h), they accept international credit cards. Rooms are very clean. Baby friendly. 5 minutes on foot to the Old Town, ATMs are right across the street.

Cons: Our room had very bad smell. We had to open the windows both in evening and morning but the smell was coming back again and again, perhaps because of flooring. Reception is only open until 8 pm which means you have to call them before that to know how to get the keys.

Cons: There is no customer service. Upon arrival, there was no one at reception and the hotel was locked. On the outside door, there were instructions to ring the bell. We rang the bell 10 times and no one answered. We called the phone number listed and no one answered. We finally got into the hotel with the assistance from someone at Tourist Information. We were the only people in the hotel as it was closed for remodeling, but the hotel accepted the reservation and charged our credit card. The next morning, we went to reception at 930am to checkout and no one was at reception. and no one in the hotel. No on in housekeeping, no one in the breakfast area. The place was empty so we did not get a receipt. Three weeks after our stay, we were charged 50 euros for door keys which we had returned.

Cons: Glass doors seem to be in fashion for bathrooms in this part of Germany, and we'd prefer a bit more privacy. Also, aside from the owner whom we met during checkout, the only person available to speak sufficient English for us to communicate during check-in and ordering at the restaurant had to be summoned away from his usual duties, which isn't ideal for him. But we greatly appreciate his effort to help us.

Pros: Got a very warm welcome in English and German from the staff member on arrival, who greeted me by name and showed me to my room. Having only booked a single I was very pleased to get a spacious twin room with a bathroom that had a full-size bath with shower facility. The location is handy for the gorgeous Old Town as well as the pedestrian bridge leading to Poland. Breakfast generous. Altogether very good value for money and a super little pension to stay in.

Pros: We arrived at the pension at approx 8.30 pm and we pressed a bell to enter. The owner came out to meet us. He only spoke German. Luckily my friend spoke a bit of German. The man said, we were too late and our rooms were gone. (We booked 2 rooms for 4 people) We were shocked. I showed him the booking.com confirmation then he said to come in and then he showed us our two rooms. I still am unsure why he told us the rooms were gone. The owner then was very nice, he offered us a time for breakfast and the next morning took it to us in our rooms. Rooms were clean, very basic, not extremely comfortable but fine for 1 night. The next morning the cleaning lady rudely told us to leave our room at 10.20am even though the check out time was 10.30am. They do not accept card, we needed to go and withdraw cash and then return. Overall - 5/10 Don't expect much!

Cons: We gave the property a name : 'Please pay extra'. Everything, even hand soup, costs extra. Apart from toilet paper, there were no other complementaries in the room. You are also charged for Wifi- €3 for each device for 24 hours.The check in is at 2 pm and check out - 10 am. Even though you are allowed to use the room for 20 hours (if you, like us, stay for one day only), you pay the full price for Wifi. One of the windows was broken, thus, we could not use it at all. Also, the cancellation of the room would have cost us almost the same amount as the room fee. In general, the hotel is in great location, but apart from that, I would not recommend it to friends.
