Pros: Fabulous building - full of character. I really liked it. Hard to go back to boring generic hotels afterwards. The breakfast was stunning - not the usual buffet style (bread cheese ham etc...) but a proper meal with a variety of exquisitely prepared fruits, breads, yoghurts etc... healthy, wholesome and delicious! The couple who own the hotel/B&B were very friendly and genuinely interested in helping - It really is a hidden gem.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place with a really cozy feel, lovely breakfast. Johann the owner was very friendly and knowledgeable, giving us helpful advice on what to see and do in the area. He also went above and beyond when we had a motoring mishap on our last day. Many thanks, johann for sorting things out for us.
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Johan is extremely friendly and welcoming, and cooks THE MOST AMAZING breakfasts I've ever had at a bnb, my god. He was understanding and helpful and gave us lots of good advice for what to do in town, and since we were the first guests to arrive he gave us our pick of the whole house. The room itself was perfect---compact and cozy, but with a huge tub that I really needed after a long day of walking. The bed was also really big and comfortable! My husband accidentally gave Johan an extra 50 euros when we paid at the end of our stay, and Johan was really great about transferring us the money back after we'd already left. What an honest guy! I wish we had more reasons to come to Hasselt!
Cons: Leaving and having to cook breakfast for myself again.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: This is a truly remarkable place. The hosts are welcoming and friendly, every detail in this cosy old house is beautifully designed and crafted, and the breakfast—as mentioned by other reviewers before me—is just perfect; so it has been a pleasure staying there. I do not tend to write enthusiastic reviews, but I find this hotel exceptional.
Cons: -
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This place is a treat. My room was large, tastefully decorated and more than comfortable. We took extra time for breakfast, as there are so many delicious items to taste from. Parking was close to the property and easy to find for me. I was here for work, but would love to come back with my partner for a weekend.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: All
Cons: Nothing
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, Nice room, good beds, great breakfast, very central.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The place was lovely: attention to all details and everything of the highest quality. For instance, the breakfast meats, fruits and cheeses were all top quality; the towels were sweet-smelling and fresh; the toiletries pleasant. The rooms are sparsely decorated in a chic but simple way that I found delightful. A gentle background of classical music plays all day in the living area and at breakfast. A particular pleasure was entering the breakfast area as the morning light hit the french doors, all the place settings perfectly laid out on a range of small tables in a tableau straight from an Old Master. Moments later, our hostess appears offering a range of cooked options and drinks and bringing a glass of orange juice, which was genuinely freshly squeezed.
Cons: There was little to dislike. The whole place is gently scented with lemongrass so I guess if you don't like that, you are not going to be as happy as I was.

Overview Reviews
Located in Hasselt, Charmehotel Villa Saporis is within a 15-minute drive of Plopsa Indoor Theme Park and Circuit Zolder. Free self parking is available onsite.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic breakfast - all freshly cooked - eggs, bacon, lovely croissants, yogurts etc.
Cons: Our room, Vanilla was warm, without air-conditioning.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: We booked this hotel because it was advertised as having electric vehicle charging facilities. Which it did but was extremely surprised that we were charged €10 for using the charging facilities. This is the first time I was ever charged in a hotel for using their charging facilities. At the very most it might have cost the hotel €1 for the amount of electricity I would have used. We also paid extra for our room with air conditioning. I would only come back to this hotel if no other property was available.
Cons: It was clean and the activist was very good.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was outstanding, comfort was pristine! Facilities were great. Owner & staff also very friendly and extremely helpful. Would choose to stay here any day over your regular run of the mill Hotel!
Cons: The location is a little away from the city centre (~10-15 mins walk), although it is fairly close (~5 mins) to the station which can be an advantage when travelling (noise is not an issue).
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed every aspect of our stay at the villa. The building itself is a delight to those who appreciate "old" construction while amenities necessary for modern life, e.g. bathrooms, wifi, etc. are modern and functional. Our bedroom was absolutely gorgeous with plenty of light and space, a comfortable bed, and a modern bathroom. The breakfast was fantastic with many delicious home-made choices, e.g. jams, cakes, muesli, fresh-squeezed orange juice, etc. as well as offerings one expects at well-provisioned hotels, fresh bread and rolls, sliced meat and cheese, and so on. We enjoyed comfortable evenings in the parlour with a fire. The staff was extremely welcoming and professional from email communications prior to our arrival to welcoming us to the villa to ensuring our every want at breakfast and recommending local attractions and services.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: We stayed for 3 nights. The staff was very nice and kind and the breakfast was great. Delicious and very generous. The Villa itself is beautiful and very quiet. We highly recommend this place.

Pros: The kindness of the host, the breakfast very good quality and the variety of the food, homemade marmalade, the design and the beautiful park.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly people in the place, old couple trying to speak in all languages. Very warm welcome and immediately giving advices, helping with what we needed. They were also flexible with the breakfast and packed as we had to leave early. I can just recommend this lovely place.:)
Cons: Unfortunately, we arrived a bit late in the evening and almost everything was closed around for dinner. It's more of a watch out of you reach the place around 9.00-9.30 p.m. At the end we found a pizza place. Plus if you go to Brussels the traffic is horrible, can take up to 2 hours vs what google says sometimes: 45 min.

Pros: It was very close to the train and bus station.
Cons: It had a weird cleaning smell to it and the heater in the lounge made an unusual but quiet noise constantly.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: The apartment felt like home.
Cons: One thing, if anything l noticed being such a modern and clean apartment. The windows where not clean, that might seem silly, but l think it's important for such a nice apartment.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location, bed, sofa, bathroom
Cons: The only thing I'd suggest would be to add darker thicker curtains as during the long days of the summer the whole place would become really bright from very early in the morning.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, stylish interior
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great character, and very pleasant staff made thus an ideal spot for us to stop over on the way to Germany. The town was interesting and the hotel just a short walk from the town centre. Our room 42 was a corner room with excellent decor - windows on both sides with net curtains all around making a unique feel. The bed was huge 6ft+ and the corner position gave the room a quirky feel. Refurbishment at the moment gave us a shock at first with scaffolding alongside the reception. Ignore this you will be very pleased once inside.
Cons: One of us is in a wheelchair and whilst the staff made every effort to accommodate us be aware for some even this spacious room isn’t fully accessible. One main moan, the sink really is design over function - it’s impossible to get one knees under the sink especially if in a wheelchair- long distance ablutions therefore needed.
6,7 Good
Pros: modern and clean, small hotel with good location. Simple and efficient check-in and out.
Cons: Room on the small side, aircon was very noisy so we opted for open windows even if that meant street noise. Design came before comfort it seems. Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Warm options to be ordered separately but staff messed up the simplest orders.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very bright and clean.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous hotel with great facilities and modern design.
Cons: Hotel food too expensive.
5,4 Okay
Pros: We enjoyed the decor and layout of the room and having a ’real’ coffee available in the room
Cons: Staff lacked enthusiasm Having staff sitting behind a desk and you stand while they give you what felt like an ‘off pat’ practiced greeting is not welcoming. The girl we checked out with in contrast was delightful and engaging. The toilet in our room smelt like a dirty men’s urinal It was revolting and the general cleanliness of the room was poor. We did not alert staff to this as we did not use our our room until getting back from dinner and felt it was unreasonable to call so late. We spoke to reception in the morning and the response was ‘why didn’t you say something last night?’ A most disappointing response we felt.

7,5 Good
Pros: Excellent breakfast, very clean. Out of the city of Genk, in a peaceful and beauful surrounding park / golf terrain.
Cons: The room was clean, however rather small and simple decorated compared to the rest of the accomodation, we expected the English style to reflect in the room as well.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Really nice location surrounded by forests, nearby the entrance of National Park. Extensive breakfast and very friendly/helpful personnel. Very clean rooms. A place to recommend!
Cons: Room was not incredibly large, but it contains everything you need. Everything else was prefect.
5,8 Okay
Pros: Good location and clean but that's about it.
Cons: I asked for a quiet room and I got the first one next to the elevators and in front of the snooker table. Room doors are not soundproof and I coul hear everything in the corridor. Water pipes also made noise. Old electric heating in the room. View on the electrical cabinet through the small window at -2. I forgot the swimming pool smell on the whole floor. Room was very small and I could barely enter the shower.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great pool
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Sauna++ and surroundings, perfect to have a nice walk
Cons: We asked a room with garden view and did not have it because we arrived late afternoon. They speak Dutch or English, not French, just so you know.
7,9 Good
Pros: Nice hotel near the Hoge Kempen natural park. They have a really nice breakfast space and a big indoors pool.
Cons: Hot water in the bathroom was hazardously hot. Room was very small and kind of dark, plus I could hear the neighbours at all hours. Breakfast buffet is nice enough, but asking 22 euros is a bit excessive.
6,3 Good
Pros: The surroundings, friendly staff
Cons: - rooms are badly insulated.. doors are thin so you can hear everything that happens in the hallway. Also the double door in the room (117) is not sound proof. - breakfast only starts at 7am. This is too late for people who are there on business. I had no time to have breakfast. I was offered to take a lunch pack for €10, which contained a few things to eat, but no coffee. There was no take away coffee available..

Pros: Great facilities & great staff
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Spacious rooms very nicely decorated. Shower is good and beds are comfy. The common areas and restaurant were also trendy done, with 2 outdoor areas to sit and have a drink. Breakfast was very good with enough choice for every taste.
Cons: The walls though are paper-thin, happily we couldn’t here people talking but we heard all the doors closing and all steps on the corridor and were awaken at 6:45 by our neighbours leaving their room... The pillows wer too soft and even with 2 was not enough to hold your head correctly. Parking a bit small for a full hotel, almost didn’t have a place left.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Manager was excellent and friendly staff
Cons: Lack of breakfast in morning and no bread cakes
9,2 Excellent
Pros: It was very trendy, very friendly staff
Cons: Maybe a bit too expensive with adding the costs for breakfast and taxes
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Compact but comfortable rooms, spotlessly clean; and with a Nespresso machine! The restaurant has a limited but very tasty (Italian-style) menu. I loved the 'in the middle of nature' theme throughout.
Cons: I actually drove right past the hotel at first: it could be signposted better. I'd also like to have some tea in the room, and perhaps a small fridge.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff and an awesome restaurant where we had a lovely dinner on our first night. Good location and a quiet room
Cons: We had problems with our shower as it went from hot to cold unexpectedly. The hot water did come back on after turning off the water for a bit.

7,1 Good
Pros: Breakfast was very good, and the location was really fantastic. There's a big car park underneath the hotel and it's a two minute walk to shops and restaurants. The location and proximity to parking made our stay much easier.
Cons: Our room had various holes in the walls, smudges on the doors and walls. Beds were okay. The soap dispenser broke while I tried to use it in the shower. Restaurant didn't offer quality food (it was combined with a Starbucks) and it was quite expensive. Go elsewhere for dinner. Pool is a bit small and not enough ventilation.
8,8 Excellent

Pros: The hotel did go out of their way to ensure our Multi-Van with a Kart was parked in a secure VIP area infront their other hotel. We really appreciated this.
Cons: I might have misplaced my Bosch fleece. It might have been left in the cupboard of room 112 when we checked out. My fault. If the staff see it please let me know.

Pros: We were well looked after especially by the housekeeping staff. I had trouble walking around the area because of the cobblestone footpaths and roads. I was very lucky to be lent a wheelchair by the free bike hire place.
Cons: There was not enough cupboard space for our clothes or toiletries. The noise level from other guests using the tables and chairs in the reception area until 1pm on the Saturday night.

Pros: The rooms are great, super comfy beds, clean toilets and the staff are nice.
Cons: No elevator at the hotel, so having heavy luggage was a problem to go to 3rd floor.. The breakfast was mediocre and limited. Nobody sits in the reception corner unless you call the waiters.

Cons: No lift
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, in the city centre. Large and nice decorated room . Very clean and a freindly stuff
Cons: Poor breakfast, uncomfortable stairs from the ground level up to the rooms level
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly environment, helpful staff, good location (not far from the train station and in the city centre), facilities are modern but the building is traditional.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable, clean and functional room. There is AC in the room which was much appreciated as we were there during a heat wave. The breakfast was also fantastic! Bread rolls with ham and cheeses, cereal and spreads all brought to your table with fresh orange juice and coffee/tea.
Cons: The hotel is joined to a restaurant so there is not always staff at reception as they run the restaurant too. There is also no lift and all the rooms are upstairs.
6,3 Good
Pros: The breakfast was ok, the staff was friendly, the location was good
Cons: No lift, and the wooden floor was terribly noisy
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located in the junction of the ring road and the shopping street. Excellent location. The room was super cozy with a nice bathroom. Very clean. Staff was nice too. There was big cupboard with locker facility as well.. a heater and cooler was also there. The breakfast was standard with bread, various spreads, ham, cheese.. fruits, coffee and cereals. The internet was high speed.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Food and the silence
Cons: No elevator, so avoid heavy luggage
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was perfect for me. The room was small, but clean and comfortable with everything you needed, and it was a nice touch that they gave you a bottle of water and mints each night. The location was excellent - close to the station and just down the road from the Grote Markt, but the room was quiet. The breakfast wasn't the best I've had, but was perfectly adequate. If ever I went back to Hasselt I would definitely stay there again.
Cons: Not a problem for me, but my room was on the fourth floor and there was no lift, so if you had mobility issues that would be worth bearing in mind.
7,5 Good
Pros: The breakfast was simple but sufficiently good. The bed was comfortable and the towels were clean. I appreciated a lot the big safe in the room,
Cons: There is no elevator or at least we were not informed about its existence. There was no one at the reception, we needed to wait them to come from the restaurant. There was a problem with the hot water in the shower, I could not manage to get it.

Pros: The hostess was very welcoming and helpful. She had put us on the top floor at the back of the hotel as there was some sort of festival in the streets nearby and she didn't want the music to disturb us. This was very thoughtful and worked well. It was very quiet. The hotel is a little faded and in need of updating but it had everything we needed and was very central in the town. Breakfast was very good with a good range of food to choose from. Very reasonable price.
Cons: Nothing.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent. Owner friendly and made us feel very welcome. Parking was free in the street after 18h00, but could be a problem during normal hours. Within close walking distance to many restaurants, shops and a mall shopping centre. The room was spotless and well serviced.
Cons: The hot water geyser sometimes cannot keep up with demand, and you may need to wait to have a very hot shower.
