This was our sixth stay at the Clayton Galway we go every year. The staff were friendly and the resturaunt food was nice.
I was disappointed as we come back every year and it’s our favourite hotel in Ireland as it’s comfy and clean with friendly staff however this time it was a bit of a let down. The room was very dusty without going looking for it the door frame was covered in dust as was the side of the lockers beside the bed. The first night there was a red stain on my towel almost like red wine that had tried to have washed out. When the bed was changed during our stay there was a large horrible stain on the sheet. Also through no fault of the hotel, would not book a room with a balcony as the birds flew into it every morning around 6 o clock and woke us. Also I thought it should’ve advised before the stay that the pool gym sauna etc wasn’t in use as it is still advertising as available. We were offered to use facilities at another property however didn’t due to inconvenience. We ate in the resturaunt twice and the first time was lovely however the second time the food was a bit cold, maybe just a bad night in the kitchen. I feel like the standards may have slightly dropped in the hotel and I’m really disappointed as we loved the clayton and visiting Galway and here frequently.
Bed was so comfy, room was huge and spotless clean. Staff were very friendly, efficient with check-in and room service we ordered.
All staff were really accommodating, including Martin who upgraded us to a balcony room on day 2 of our stay as it was my birthday weekend , breakfast in bed 3 mornings in a row , Steven and Ashling were also 2 lovely accommodating staff, and I highly recommend this hotel and will return again , food was gorgeous as well . Tops 10/10
Not much everything was perfect for our weekend stay
The hotel was very nice and modern on the inside and we were so pleased to find such accommodating staff. We arrived quite late that night and were very tired from 12 hours of driving. The young lady working check in was so kind and she upgraded us to the bridal suite for free!! It was amazing! High tech, comfortable bed tons of windows for views. We loved it. Such a nice gesture and there was not need for them to do that.
out of town blandness
Dirty grounds around the exterior, dirty rooms not fully cleaned, drawer handles full of body hair, body fluids on curtains, bery bland interior very basic fittings in room, budget soaps, not a hint of luxury anywhere, should be rerated to 3 star.
