There are two Magnuson properties in Ely located close to each other. I stayed at the Magnuson Hotel Ely. The hotel was a small single story building on US 50 with exterior doors, allowing parking in front of the rooms. It was an older property, but appeared to be well maintained. I stayed in a clean, large accessible room that had a king bed with a standard mattress and four standard pillows. It had sheets, a blanket and an extra sheet used as bed cover. The bed was a little too firm for me, but I slept well. There was also a desk and chair, a table and two chairs, a microwave, a mini fridge, an alarm clock, an iron and board, a hair dryer and a coffee maker. The a/c worked well and the room had a lot of electrical outlets. The sink was located in the large bathroom and had good counter space. The shower had great water pressure and the towels were soft and absorbent. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The wifi was good, but disconnected frequently. Overall the room was clean. But since it was an older property, there were several visible blemishes. Specifically, the carpet and chair cushions had very notable stains. Like most hotels, there was no breakfast offered due to Covid.
Bed was awesome, staff was welcoming and it is a fantastic deal. Very clean.
Rooms were very clean and inviting. Awesome place and very friendly staff. The after hours was just great. I did not arrive until after 10 PM I was able to receive my key and get in the room after a very long 600 mile car trip. Thanks to the staff for such a great experience. Jim Musgrove
Seemed clean, was affordable. Staff was perfunctory.
I couldn’t figure out how to turn the tv off from the remote. It just turned off the cable.
Room was comfortable. Continental breakfast was adequate.
Office door locked when we arrived, had to wait for check in. Checked back later for an item, door locked again. Snowed 6 inches over nite, and no effort was made to clean sidewalk for breakfast and help or Offer of aid or utensils to remove snow from vehicles or parking area.p
