Cons:The local crown out front that pick pocketed me my last stay. You need security out front.
Cons:I chose the Sutton Place in Edmonton based on a good experience at their location in Vancouver, which is a nice hotel. The Edmonton property is just not of the same caliber by a mile. The problems started on arrival: parking is not obvious, and no valet was present for directions (it was admittedly Sunday night). The parkade elevator was broken, and stairwell lock, so we ended up exiting through the back into a garbage filled alley. The first room we got had a very loud/on-the-verge of breaking heating fan, so I immediately requested a change of room (which was granted). The amenities are less than Sutton in Vancouver - the mini bar was empty (not stocked - I had been hoping to get some $10 chocolate on the company's dime), the wallpaper in the bathroom old and dirty (fan didn't work). The Television did not carry Sportsnet West, which forced us to go down to the lobby late at night to watch the Flames (lose unfortunately) in the playoffs. The elevators are old, the buttons don't work properly and when you arrive on the ground floor the movement of the lift is gut-wrenching. The hotel restaurant - Chop - is nicely appointed however has a relatively limited menu which we struggled with, as it was dominated by steak. Although admittedly a steakhouse, a hotel restaurant needs more options.
