10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location (unless you prefer to be close to the highway or downtown), passionate and great owners, all cabins super: clean, complete, decorated according to a clear vision, Great if you love animals/farming
Cons: Nothing, could not be better
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful people and animals. A kind of luxury that can't be manufactured
Cons: Should've stayed longer
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The attention to detail in the Wagstaff cabin is amazing! The heated floors felt wonderful during our March stay. Fresh picked eggs, a local guide to take us on a petroglyph hike, and the friendliest hosts in the world put this place in a category of its own.
Cons: Unfortunately, our son in law was quite ill during our visit, which prevented us from fully embracing all of the opportunities to enjoy the property.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Words cannot adequately describe what an amazing experience staying at Canyon of the Ancients Guest Ranch is. The accommodations, the friendliness of the owners, the way they integrate you and your family into life at the ranch — all outstanding!
Cons: Nothing! It was perfect
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The farm fresh eggs were a nice touch, the setting was excellent, so quiet...
Cons: Everything was great. I was a little bummed that I was charge a cleaning fee each night but there was nothing attended to until we left. No one even check in to see what was up.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: We will never forget our stay at this ranch. It was really perfect. The ranch, the cabin, the pets... just everything. Ming and Garry took incredible care of us. We got the chance to get to know a real cowboy (Stephen Zicker) and indian woman. It was really hard for us to leave the ranch but we hope we will come back one day…

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Price. Clean. Great town...Cortez.
Cons: A bit of noise from neighbors slamming doors.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It was excellent! Nice room, good breakfast.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Comfy beds, retro decor, friendly and helpful staff. Keurig and kcups in the room. Cute little dinner for breakfast.
Cons: The shower head makes a high pitched noise. Linens were a little stained. Continental breakfast was mostly starches.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I booked on line and put the wrong dates in and the gal checking us in said no problem. They had a room and as it turn out it was a cheaper rate! Very nice staff!
Cons: Very thing was great!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the decor and the very friendly staff. Despite the name, Retro Inn, the rooms were modern and comfortable. But the place was decorated with vintage stuff, from the posters on the wall (I was in room 1964 - Beatlemania), to the vintage camping trailer and phone booth by the office. it was great.
Cons: I wish there had been a more comfortable chair in the room....I don't like hanging out on the bed.
6,0 Good
Pros: Great location. Decent property with grassy areas. Very convenient parking. Clean.
Cons: Expensive for the type of room (older style with an attempt at bringing back the retro feel). Although I visited during high season, so higher price was expected. My room was very small.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Basic but clean. Friendly staff
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Ambience, character, old style motel but everything worked well and was very clean. Rooms are well equipped with all the usual conveniences. Nice area outside to play chess, eat, or read. Our best value stay during a two week road trip.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The place was immaculate and fun. Everything seemed new and fresh. Very quiet and comfortable. I liked that the temperature was easy to control and not noisy.
Cons: There was WiFi, but it wasn't very good. This could really use an upgrade.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: DELIGHTFUL SURPRISE: Exceptionally clean and comfy. Older hotel, nicely remodeled with a touch of nostalgia and whimsy. We especially enjoyed the outdoor socializing area. Convenient to shopping and on the route to Mesa Verveiui
9,1 Excellent
Pros: The motel is recently updated with a mix of modern and retro appointments. While the room holds your basic essentials and nothing "extra", it wasn't lacking. The beds were very comfortable and the theme was nicely, if minimalisticly, completed. The rooms are numbered in years, a fun way of deploying the theme. Our room was 1964, and in it featured a poster of 1964 Beatles.
Cons: We had a late arrival, and the front desk closed at 10pm. They had arrangements, but no the most convenient.

Pros: The pueblo trail

Cons: Nothing
4,2 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was buffet style and at least better than a comfort inn.
Cons: The bed was very soft and sunken in the middle, even without anyone in it, which was much worse. The shower drain was clogged and we had to stand in 2 inches of dirty water. It was very disgusting. I had to ask them to clean it for our second night. Thank
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast. Funky setting and out of the way. The kiva was the best. Laid back atmosphere with lots of info on the area. Comfy setting. Driving distance to many interesting sites. This is definitely not like all of the hotel/motels in the area. You can see the milky way at night.
Cons: Thin walls so everyone behaved. The hovenweep trail next door is not the greatest. You will see much more on their property. About 20 minutes from downtown Cortez.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was the best ever

Overview Reviews

7,9 Good
Pros: Clean and comfortable. Near city park (for walking dog).
Cons: Shower head needed replaced and bathroom sink faucet dripped.
7,9 Good
Pros: The location was very central, easy to get to Mesa Verde. We could walk across the street to Kroger which was great for our morning there. The room was exactly what we needed for our overnight stay.
Cons: Rooms could use a little updating. It was clean, but it still had that feeling like it wasn’t. And it’s a little loud which could have been our luck with who was next to us.
7,9 Good
Pros: Great location very pleasant staff .
Cons: The bed was a bit to hard for my liking!
5,0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Noisy air conditioning
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Clean friendly staff free coffee and ice
Cons: No
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Vintage style, very clean, very friendly, a few blocks from the center of town. Why pay more for the corporate, sterile feel of a chain? We picked this because it was affordable - and will stay there the next time we're in Cortez.
8,2 Excellent
Pros: If you like 50's era retro motels you will love this - large rooms with separate dressing area and separate bathrooms. Not your chain hotel at all. Our room had a strange noise that we could not identify so they put us in a second room with no noise. Seems the first room's phone was off the hook slightly which caused a high pitched noise. Staff was excellent and recommended wonderful restaurant not too far away. We had a microwave and fridge in our room also. Both rooms were clean and comfy.
Cons: No coffee in room, only available in the office which does not open until 8 am. But there is a Giant gas station with a wonderful coffee bar just down the street.
4,6 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Small, dirty, run-down. Road noise until 12:00p.m.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent. Lots of restaurants nearby. Cortez is a very nice town.
Cons: The motel was small, as was the parking. Overflow parking was available. The building itself was old, the air-conditioning was old, the WiFi was old, but everything worked. My expectations were met because I had read the reviews on this property before I booked it. I even stayed an extra night. What was said about the staff was very true. They were exceptionally nice, sincerely showing their appreciation for my staying with them. If anyone is too good to stay at the Aneth Lodge, they should just stay home.

Pros: They have a dry and wet sauna available and the breakfast was decent. Staff were friendly. The pillows were super comfortable, the room was clean and spacious for the 3 of us.
Cons: The pool was closed for the season. I had hoped to use the jacuzzi that was listed with the property. Also, we were only staying for the night so this didn't matter much to us, but we could only walk to the Mexican Restaurant next door (which was delicious: Fiesta Mexicana)
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly .
7,0 Good
Pros: location
6,7 Good
Pros: While traveling we have seen many days inns.. most looked quite modern and appeared acceptable from the outside...years ago we did use the chain. But. It in some time..this was an old facility ..it was clean but while they were busy did not appear to reinvest in their property...
6,7 Good
Pros: The very large breakfast omelette containg chesse.
Cons: Does not have a well lit entry or access from the main road. You have to enter behind a Mexican restaraunt and is not lighted. Also, they need to paint rhe uneven curb with luminescent paint. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen! The stair landing is sketchy, you try to take a step but it is not a step.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: A reasonable price with nice accommodations. It is an older motel but seems to be well maintained and friendly staff.
Cons: Hot eggs and meat would improve breakfast.

5,0 Okay
Cons: Don't let the pictures fool you, the rooms are small and finishes are cheapo. The bathroom was full of places for water intrusion into the walls and floor. Being on the third floor, I felt sorry for the mold the second floor people likely had.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was really friendly, considering I got there after office hours .
5,0 Okay
Pros: The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They seemed very willing to please. The room was very clean and spacious in the beds were comfortable. The room had a small refrigerator and a microwave which was nice.
Cons: The breakfast was terrible, just cold cereals and bagels. Powdered coffee creamer and instead of half-and-half...ick. There was nothing for diabetics, no protein. The pool was not open and the hot tub was in a small cramped room that was right next to a busy road. The refrigerator was not plugged in and there were notes threatening a five dollar charge if we used a towel or a washcloth to clean up spills. There was, however, a basket of rags provided in case of a spill. The toiletries provided were probably the cheapest available they came in a package like ketchup at a fast food restaurant. The motel was very overpriced. I thought I was getting something a little nicer and quieter because of the price, and I was prepared to pay more but was very disappointed when I checked in. Fortunately it was only for one night.
3,8 Mediocre
Cons: Stink of cigarettes, had to take lid off toilet to stop from running, air-conditioning made an annoying clicking sound, extension cord to refrigerator was frayed, holes in the window curtains. When we reported these problems to the manager she was real sarcastic and dismissive as if it were somehow our fault.

Pros: Easy to find.
Cons: Breakfast was sparse. No gluten free, decaf, no eggs. Below level of most places the included breakfast.
1,0 Poor

Pros: Great location for Mesa Verde and Dolores / Escalante Pueblo. Not fully modernised, but very clean and tidy.
Cons: Nothing
1,0 Poor
Pros: Parking was easy with a trailer
Cons: Hotel was not clean at all. Floors were very dirty with wrappers and visible dirt and grass on it. Tile and sink were dirty in bathroom. Caulking around base of tub was moldy. Towel rack was literally hanging off the wall.
6,3 Good
Pros: This room was well priced for what we received. While the rooms are dated and could use some love, they met our one-night stay needs. The continental breakfast had some variety, it was nice to get our day started. The morning staff was pleasant and quickly answered our questions about the day's adventures.
Cons: The rooms as mentioned were dated and a little worse for wear - holes in the laminate of the bathroom, a towel that could've been washed again, etc. But all-in-all we paid $50 which seemed to be an okay value for what we received. On that note, I would not pay more for this room at all.

6,0 Good
Pros: Price was primary factor. I was satisfied.
Cons: Caulking around tub needs replacing. Lighting fixtures with over the bed worked (barely) but needs replacing.

Cons: if you advertise a pool it should be usable. If you advertise breakfast I expect a bit more than bread 3 days old and slightly flavored water for juice. There are not enough parking slots, and no policy where to park.
