A very spacious, impressive room complete with a four-piece bathroom en-suite; dressing gowns, toiletries, and good tea and coffee facilities. Home-cooked full English breakfast, with kippers!
The location, service, rooms and food are superb. A good range of drinks behind the bar and an impressive evening meal menu. The rooms are faultless and well furnished.
nothing not to like - this place is well worth a visit!
The staff were very welcoming .
Nice location. Staff were friendly when we saw them. Breakfast was decent. Room looks nice on first impressions.
The floor in the bedroom was massively uneven, making it difficult to watch the tv and walk around the room. We had to use the door wedge to prop the tv up. The bed frame wasn’t clean and under the bed, there was all manor of things, including grit. The bed was very low, pillows were hard and there was no hot water for a shower in the evening, which was ridiculous when we were going to a wedding night do. We complained, but it wasn’t fixed. Seemed to work in the morning though. Quite noisy, as the rooms are directly above the pub, so lots of background noise. No heating in the bathroom either, or an extractor fan to get rid of excess steam. There had also been a leak at some point, which had come through onto our ceiling right above our bed, which hadn’t been fixed. Cracked window pane, plus other bits and pieces, including missing cupboard door handles. Staff few and far between. We complained in the morning that there was no hot water. Got an apology, but nothing else. Massively overpriced.
The food in the restaurant was lovely.
The carpet in the room was dirty, everything else was fine.
