I had to wait an hour because of limited rental cars, but it all worked out. They gave me a great rate and a fuel allowance. It pays to be nice and understanding when employees are just trying to make due with what they have.

Passenger van

I reserved a 15-passenger van for travel with a large group. 2 Days before they sent an email to an old email address linked to my account, not the one linked to my Enterprise customer account. They did not try to call or send to my other account. Of course, I missed it. When I arrived, they informed me that my van was not going to be available. They said no vans were available any where within two hours of driving. I made my reservation more than a month before our trip, and two days before they trip they tried, but failed, to reach me. I am extremely dissatisfied with my reservation and will never user Enterprise or Kayak again if I can help it. What is the point of making a reservation if they can just change on you at the last minute. This change nearly ruined our trip that we had spent 9-months planning and thousands of dollars on.

My husband and I took a ride share from our hotel to the f Pick up location which was permanently closed We then paid the driver to take us to the posted alternate location and they had no cars! After asking the employee what was going to happen I suggested we go to the airport so we paid another ride share to drop us off at the terminal return! In line at the airport they made ME call customer service to remedy the issue and get back in a long line to get the vehicle! This was a 3 hour rocess altogether and a costly experience. It was mentioned that because we booked through a 2nd party the reservation could not be changed by Budget making us feel even more dissatisfied

Waited an hour and a half for this location to open, only to find that they had ZERO cars available. The gentleman working the desk was rude and absolutely no help. Said he would call me when a car was available and never even called, I had to go to the airport and rent a car from there, costing me an extra $30 for a ride the CLT. If there aren’t cars available why was I able to make a reservation at that location?

Steve was extremely unhelpful and Budget as an organization was horrible. Confirming a reservation for me and then not providing a car at multiple locations, then making me pay for an upgrade I didn’t need or want. Budget lost a customer for sure. This was the worst customer service and car rental experience I’ve ever had or heard of. And I will see to it that none of my businesses ever work with Budget again.

The site indicated that a car was available, but when I called to confirm, I was informed that there were no cars available. Then I had to call back because the site was going to charge me for a car that was unavailable to me.

The website was NOT CLEAR that my pickup and dropoff were NOT AT THE AIRPORT. Also, when i went to the Hertz desk at the airport, they were extremely unhelpful. They could not tell me where to go to pick up the car, which was several miles away. Additionally, i left THREE MESSAGES at the local Charlotte Hertz office, trying to return the car to the airport, rather than the remote location. NONE OF THE CALLS WAS RETURNED.

Not only was the service poor and the wait times long but the vehicle that we reserved had been given away and there was nothing ready for us when we got there. The car that was given to us hadn’t been cleaned, a lower class and smelt as if two skunks had a fight in the center cab of it. This was a very strong marijuana smell soaked into the interior. We left in the vehicle so that we wouldn’t have to wait any longer since we were already behind on a property meeting that was over two hours away. We drove the entire trip with the windows down and even purchased fabreeze along the way, neither of which helped with the smell. The only thing that the location representative offered us was a $5 refund on the car for it being a different class and I spoke with one service agent who informed me that there were no supervisors for me to speak to and that the only thing that could be offered was a discount voucher for another rental. Seeing that marijuana is ILLEGAL in the state of North Carolina I really don’t want to take another chance at booking another rental from any Hertz right now until someone could at least have the courtesy of telling me that this isn’t the standard business practices of one of the largest rental car agencies in the country. I am puzzled that they are still in business.
