Had to wait for the young girl at her desk to notice I was there even after saying hello when I walked in, she was on her phone. She was giving me trouble on the rental and I ended up just canceling it. The consumers who showed up during this experience also canceled their rental and went somewhere else.

I asked for an email receipt so I didn't notice they had my drop-off location wrong - a bodyshop in Buffalo instead of the Syracuse airport. Luckily, I spotted the error in time and Enterprise fixed it right away over the phone.

Pros:

Staff was friendly and helpful - it was challenging with the enhanced cleaning protocols plus they had a huge number of rentals for the day I was renting. They were doing what they needed to do under challenging circumstances. Good job!

Cons:

The rental car prices were a little higher than normal. Also, the car choices were limited.

Customer service is excellent. However, the car was not cleaned prior to my pick-up. I did, however, arrive pretty late, so that could have contributed. As for the car, the radio did not work properly all the time. It would cut itself off periodically and not come back on for hours.

The business was closed at the time I was to pick up my rental. When we spoke with someone there the next day they said that they didn’t have a car for me anyway and that them being closed at the original time I was to pick up a car was akin to me “missing a flight”. They obviously did not care one iota about me as a customer. I would tell anyone considering doing business with Hertz to go somewhere else.

The hertz location wasn’t even open! They apparently aren’t open sat-Sunday, which makes no sense! How come I was able to book a rental for a location that wasn’t open…? When called they asked if we could *drive* 4 hours away to pick up a car… no I can’t, that’s why I needed a rental car. Terrible service. Had to go to enterprise instead and spend double the $ for same day rental….

Everything worked out great. However I was concerned what vehicle I would be renting . Called 2 days prior but iwas not guaranteed a mini van which was crucial. Told that I would not know until I picked up car!

Cons:

When I arrived for pickup there was a sign on the door saying the office was closed and to drive to the airport an hour away for my vehicle. The confirmation email never said anything. No call from the office to say anything had changed. After a two hour drive and then 2 hours on the phone to talk to a human being to try to get some sort of refund I was unsuccessful because I had "prepaid" the reservation. Any other company would have been able to credit my account with some sort of refund to accommodate the inconvenience. Nope, not Hertz. A gift voucher was all that they would offer. Not sure I will use Hertz again even with a $50 voucher. Very poor communication

Pickup was excellent, drop off not so much. I dropped off at 5am, so there was no one around of course. My proven stems from trying to get details on the drop off. Something like this would have been helpful "For the Syracuse airport, follow the signs for rental car return, being careful to not go into long term parking. You will turn into the parking garage just before passenger drop off lanes. Once inside, for Avis, drive past the first few rows that say other rental companies. Find an open space in the Avis section and park. You will bring your rental agreement and keys(and your fuel receipt if you topped off gas) inside the terminal. You are supposed to write your mileage on the rental agreement, but I had no pen and neither did the Avis counter. Also the place I got gas didn't give me a receipt at the pump, so other than a full tank I had no proof I got gas, no pen to leave a note. You will most likely come in the center entrance of the terminal and Avis is to your left(north). The drop box for the rental agreement and keys is well marked"

Vehicle was a disaster. Trash left in the back seat and trunk. Vehicle reeked of weed. Vehicle maintenance not performed properly (required maintenance indicator was on for the duration of rental).Many additional fees not discussed beforehand. Also charged me extra because I picked up 46min early rather than let me know that was a thing and that maybe I should wait. Just the absolute worst.

Cons:

Very cold in Binghamton,and no snow brush in the car was told "Syracuse" hadn't sent them yet" Needed to brush off the car w/my gloved hand. Not ideal especially in upstate NY with the snow.

Jeep Grand Cherokee we rented battery died. Had to exchange cars. People at desk could not have been more friendly,helpful. Got replacement car quickly! Budget representative from central location on phone,however,not helpful and wrong information!

Pros: - last minute availability for a rental car with different drop off location - a kind and helpful employee at return (Newark) Cons: - car was dirty, didn’t look like it had been cleaned with pet hair everywhere and food/slobber marks on seats. - back center seatbelt was unusable. - car was given to us with 3/4 tank full.

The staff was super friendly and nice...very helpful and got me processed quickly

the vehicle did not seem very clean. the floor was muddy and the vehicle smelled of cigarette smoke

Pros:

Cars were not at quality of what was charged for rental.

Cons:

Would have appreciated a cleaner car. Other than that staff was very helpful and kind. Don't appreciate the absurd change of price when checking car out. Guess that's what happens when you get a car rental from a third party seller.
