Top tips for hiring a car at Wilkes-Barre Scranton airport

  • A car rental at Wilkes-Barre Airport (AVP) will suffice if you're looking for convenient transportation means to and from the airport. The primary benefit you'll accrue is traveling on your terms, meaning that you won't need to follow taxi or ride-share time schedules. It's also advantageous compared to public transit means, as you'll not have to wait for a bus and risk extending your travel time longer than necessary. With a car rental, you'll minimize your travel costs, as renting a vehicle for an extended period is less costly than paying for multiple short trips.
  • Renting a car in Wilkes-Barre Scranton Airport is fast and straightforward, with rental counters present on-terminal. You can step out of your plane and get behind the wheels within no time. Moreover, car companies usually have their fleets of vehicles right outside the terminal, so you'll not endure any shuttle waits for drop-offs at the car lot. You can also accelerate the pick-up process by leveraging individual company resources, including amenities present to avoid long lines.
  • When you're ready to return your Wilkes-Barre Scranton Airport car rental, you'll find the process easy since it involves dropping off the vehicle at the familiar point you picked it up. Here, you'll head to the airport and follow the Rental Car Return signs that'll lead you to the rental car lot. From there, go to the rental agency counter and drop off the key and contract. With the after-hours service available from some companies, you can conveniently drop off the vehicle outside working hours and skip the counter.
  • The I-81 stretch between Scranton and Wilkes-Barre can be challenging to maneuver during rush hour. You'll find peak travel times on the route to be around 7.30 am, 11.30 am, and 5.15 pm, with the morning rush being inbound to the city towards the airport and the evening rush outbound from the airport as you head to downtown Wilkes-Barre or Scranton. We recommend that you avoid traveling to or from the airport during rush hour if you want your car rental process to have no struggles regarding accessibility.
  • Book your car hire at Wilkes-Barre Scranton airport at least 1 day before your trip in order to get a below-average price

Passenger van

KAYAK
They lie to you on the phone just to get you in the door, I was told that I would be able to rent the vehicle I picked out online, and I called to confirm three times and everytime I was told over the phone that they reserved the vehicle and it will be ready for me to pick it up. I go to pick it up and it just so happens that I can’t rent that “specific vehicle” and I would have to rent the more expensive one. I was lied to and they will lie to you too

Extremely terrible. My boss laid me off for 10 days due to your company “accidentally “ charging us a smoking fee. So not only did we get charged over $300 for a 6 hour rental but you also charged us $500 on top totaling over $800 for 6 hrs. Also took several hours to get in contact with customer service
