I called ahead of time to let Avis know my flight would be late and they said that would be fine. But then when I flew into the St. Louis airport they closed early. Super frusterating.

UnbelievabelYou wrote a review for Avis Rent A Car 2 days ago 1.0 star rating 7/25/2018 An unbelievable event that is stranger than fiction. I made a reservation on 6/28/18 for a 3-day rental of a full size car in St. Louis, MO, beginning yesterday, 7/24/18. Yesterday, before making my flight to St. Louis, I realized that the reservation had been made for a location off the airport property, so I called the corporate customer service number to see if this could be changed. It turns out the PGA event in St. Louis left no cars available at the airport. I thanked the agent and ended the call. When I got to the off-site location (via Lyft but no fault of Avis), the agent there told me my reservation had been changed to June of next year in Alaska for a SUV vehicle! I called the corporate customer service number and explained my dilemma, and they said they could do nothing to change it. Because of the PGA event, this off-site location was out of cars (except for the one I had reserved but then lost due to the change in reservation). I filed a grievance and asked to be called by a supervisor in 24 hours. No call. No car. No help. So I have been stuck taking several Lyft rides to my business appointments. Unbelievable.

cost more money at pick upcar was clean that's a bout itWas not the same price as quoted by you said that we were at Wrong Avis pick up it said airport pickup got there said it was another Avis I asked how mmuch it was here my quote was 141 they told me to 299 but said they can put us in the car for 210 pounds $70 more then what I got from you then he said we can take the shuttle back to the airport and catch a cab to the other Avis dealer I was not going to pay and take up more time to do that so I took the car will never use them again should have went to Enterprise I coulD of got a full size car for the price I paid for this little one what a ripoff

They were excellent! I screwed up and showed up at a different location from where I made the rental reservation. They straightened things out, got me a car—even though they had a long line of people renting vehicles—and even matched my initial rate for me! They turned a near catastrophe into a successful trip.Really, not anything. They were helpful, professional, and friendly.

booking locationi flew into the St Louis airport, and you guys booked me a car to be picked up in a remote location 30 minutes from the airport location. it cost me $150 more to get a car from them at the airport location.

Pickup was slo-o-o-o-o-wDrop off was a breeze and I was able to catch a shuttle to the airport right away.It took almost 45 minutes for me to get my car. The line had at least 12 people and only 2 counter folks when we first arrived. After about 10 minutes 2 more folks showed up. But, each person took around 10-15 minutes to get their car so it was a long wait after a full day of travel.

Wrong Car provided smelled like smoke, vehicle wasI paid for a Chevy Impala or similar. When I went to pick up the vehicle they gave me a Chevy malibu. I showed my proof of purchase and they said that it is Kayaks fault. Kayak false advertise and they could only provide me with a Malibu and unless I pay a premium I would only get anew Impala. RIDICULOUS!!

Budget charged more for the car rental than the KaNice shuttle driver on the return trip.No windshield washer fluid in the vehicle when we picked it up an multiple service vehicle lights displayed in the instrument panel.

Confusion over pick-up location. I did not realize the Manchester location was different than the airport location. Price ended up being more than $100 more. Will not use Budget again.

The staff member that helped us when we picked up was amazing. She was working with what she was delivered from the airport which were smoked in dirty, beat up cars. She was so frutrated with the cars conditions and the lack of caring when she called the main office she upgraded us to a larger vehicle which was the correct thing to do!Thrifty needs to care about the cars that are availabel to the public to rent. The girl at facility when we picked up went over the no smoking rules with everything else, we actually said no problem because myself and our youngest are extremely sensative and allergic to cigarette smoke..She pulled up in the first out and said well its clean but it says on ticket had been smoked in. We could tell when we sat in car for a second.we said it will not work! The second car smelled as if someone had just smoked marijuana and got out. The moment we opened the car door I got a headache from the smell..UNEXCEPTABLE!!!!! she then called the main office and they gave her trouble and sounded like they could care less. There were also extra fees that were not mentioned on the site when I booked it..limitations to states we could not drive it to. NONE of that was listed. We paid the extra fee (280$) so we could drive our trip..Thank god we were not going out west because we would have been screwed! We were not happy to find out about this when we picked the car up! I have tried calling the GM of St Louis Thrifty(Jeff) twice and have yet to hear back from him! We will never rent from Thrifty again!!

Car was clean and ready for meat the time of reservation wasn't informed of extra charges, at the time of pick up I was told I needed to pay 140 is more, to rent the car. When I asked for an explanation on the time of drop off the person on the counter seemed annoyed and dismissed me as quick as she could since I was bothering her... won't ever use this company again.

The Vehicle was very comfortable.The Service was not good at all. They refused to show the components of the car, In fact, I needed the vehicle to drive to Omaha, NE and could not find the cruise control. I could have read the manual but was in a time crunch. Then I had paid for extra insurance through you. Not knowing how things worked with them, I usually use Enterprise, when asked I also purchased the insurance they offered. I assumed that they knew about my complete contract. I work in retail and we ask the customer what they have before we offer any additions. I expected them to be the same way. it was my fault also that I was pressed for time and a little perplexed with the service. I am used to a more congenial and friendly atmosphere which was not present. If asked I would not recommend thrifty to anyone.

The price was different from the original quote that you gave me. There was a 200 dollar deposit and unlimited mileage wasn't unlimited on in covered areas so an additional 80 dollars had to be paid

Vehicle was clean and drove nice. Plenty of room.Added expenses upon pick up. Charged extra ($35) to use my debit card but not given a choice of other payments. Also charged a $200 deposit. And have to wait up to two or three weeks to get it back. Charged another $100 for going outside the very limited amount of states they allowed. So my $469 rental price was jacked up to $806. Very disappointing.

I will NEVER use Thrifty again.Nothing.Customer service was horrendous--they were very rude. They charged me $100 clean up fee for "dog hair all over". We never had any dogs or animals in the vehicle. The car had two water bottles under the front passenger seat to begin with when we picked it up.

Everything went very smoothly and I saved quite a bit booking through Kayak and picking up the car at a location away from the airport. I really liked the feature of prepaying for the gas so I didn't have to deal with that before dropping off the car. That's always such a pain. Plus they price it so it's even cheaper than buying the gas yourself. Drop off was super easy.

Being forewarned that the pick-up site was SO FAR AWAY from the airport! They need to offer a free shuttle from the airport. We really got jerked around. Then Hertz charged us for an entire 6 days longer than we used the car.

The staff was helpful but hurried. The car was really inexpensive, which was why I went with Hertz for the first time.The car was somewhat vacuumed on the inside, quite dirty on the outside, with leaves sticking out from under the hood. It was Christmas Eve and they wanted to close early, so they rushed the car up and didn't check it over for scratches or properly record the gas tank level. It was full, but the paperwork said 2/8. Even though it was the end of December, the windshield washer fluid was the summer kind, so it made a useless blue slushy on my windshield. It was almost due for an oil change when I started out. The last day, the cruise control died, the check engine light came on, and it started shaking all over. It was a new Malibu, so I don't know what was with that. Other than that, the car ran well.

Car was clean & comfortableI accidentally booked the wrong pickup/drop off location due to a death in the family. I asked Hertz to change the booking once I arrived. They said because I prepaid that I didn’t have that option. I told them I would be willing to pay the change fee but again told I didn’t have that option. I had to take an Uber to the correct location. I called the corporate office with no help! I was VERY disappointed in Hertz! Luckily on the return trip they did have someone to take me to the airport but I was told that might not be available either.

Bad Review for HertzThe only thing I like was the fact the car got 45mpg.First Hertz said we gave your car away along with being very nasty after that, they kept saying it was my fault. The part I really didn't understand was I paid in advance. Why would you think I was not going to show up. Then he came back and said I can hey you another one in about four hours from now. It was a good thing I waited around, someone else came in early with the car I left with. Bad thing was someone smoked in the car and they tried to cover the smell up. Which I just got reamed not to do but I really need a car. Next the seat belt warning was broken, I couldn't have water bottle in the passenger seat without having the seat belt alarm sound continuously. Lastly it's a great thing I can see thru a blurred windshield, the windshield wipers didn't work.
