The shuttle was a very long wait. The line at the counter was an outrageously long wait. The car's stick kept missing the required position. The charges at the end exceeded the charges at the time of booking by $20.

The staff was nice. My first issue is maybe more with kayak. The price I rented the car for is not the price I paid when I got there, it was more. About $100 more. I've unfortunately had to rent with plenty of different companies lately and none of the others were like that and I always rent thru a 3rd party. Anyway I appreciated the fact that they were willing to accommodate my request for the type of car I didn't want but they picked the car and it was filthy and smelled terrible. Previously I've been able to pick the car and they were all clean at the least. The drop off was easy tho.

The car smelled of cigarettes and the cleaning it received prior to pickup left the windows difficult to see out of.

They were overbooked and out of cars at pick-up. Had to wait over an hour for a car.

Took 2 hours to get the car that's my only task problem I had with the rental. The line was out the door into the parking lot.

There was a long line at pick-up, which is understandable, but only two people working, and five minutes after I got there, one of them said "I'm leaving" and left. So there was only one person handliing a line of over half a dozen people. He did his best, but the company needs to do better.

I was told I could drop off my vehicle at 9PM—24 hours after my pickup—at a location close to where I was staying in D.C. I arrived at that location to find that it was closed, and did not allow after-hours drop-offs. I called Budget to ask what I could do. I was told I could drop off the car at the airport the next morning at 7am!! When I explained why that wouldn’t be possible (would require paying $60 to get an Uber home, was NOT what I agreed to, and impossible due to my work schedule), the representative HUNG UP ON ME. I called back, was told the same thing, and finally was told that I could drive the car back to my apartment (where I would have to pay for overnight parking), bring it back the following day (which meant taking time off of work), and, in the case that anything were to happen to the car overnight, I would be charged for all damages. For the record, I originally was comfortable leaving the car at the location with the keys inside, but the fine print of my rental contract says that in that situation, if the car is stolen, I am liable. All of this, because I was told I could drop off my rental at a location that does not do evening drop-offs. You people are morons.

We waited in line for an hour and a half at the pickup location. It was ridiculous. The car had lots of hard water spots on the windshields and mirrors making it difficult to see.
