Cons: I arranged for a 5 am pickup. There was no shuttle. I was then waiting for the office to open at 6am as was posted at the office. By 6:10 there was still no one. I rented a vehicle from Avis. I will not be using hertz again.

Pros: The staff was friendly and the car was nice.Cons: The wait was quite long getting the car. I was told it was easy to see the gas station at the airport upon the return but I didn’t. Someone from another rental helped me find it and actually rode with me. And they charged my credit card a $1300 deposit but haven’t credited it yet as promised.

Pros: Car wasn’t filled with gas. Had to to fight with Hertz about that. Didn’t believe me that I’d received an empty vehicle. Also over charged fur insurance.

Did not receive our carPros: NothingCons: We came to the counter around 8am when we were supposed to pick up our car and they didn’t even what we ordered. So we waited because their systems were down. We waited over 45 minutes and still no car. We need to leave the airport around 9am to be able to make it to something we had planned. So we had to leave hertz and go to another rental company. We were 30 mins late to something that was very important. We were very unsatified with our service. Hertz made us late to something we needed to be on time too.
There wasn't any car availableCons: They said that it needed 2 days in advance to book the car. I booked one day before, Kayak confirmed but there wasn't any car available.

Cons: When I arrived to pick up my car they said their system was down but they would sort it out manually. After waiting for 45 minutes I cancelled my reservation and rented a car next door at Europcar in 5 minutes.

Unusual economic - many reasons!!!Pros: Nothing! I do NOT recommend!Cons: Terrible conditions!!!! The car was really dirty in the inside, the left sound box was burst, so to turn on the radio was almost impossible. We got the economic spark! They didn't tell you the car before, otherwise I would never take it. There was a hole in the windshield and we got scared because we were in the road for a few day in Kruger park. The others car rental offer much better deal for the same price. I took a fews day later a Sandero for the same price at Europcar (amazing deal and company).

Extremely low quality budget car at only fractionaPros: Good location of pickup and drop off, however the car was extremely under maintained. It was missing boot and door trims, rattling parts, and old (34,000kms+). I will not be using thrifty ever again despite the slightly lower cost.

DisappointingCons: At first our car was really bad. We had to keep records of lots of scratches and cracks in the front shield when we got the car. There was a really bad smell of petrol inside the car the whole time and the seat belt sign didn't go off and started beeping for at least 2 minutes with every engine start although all seat belts were closed. And now they charged us another 100€ although we checked the car with one of the employees and there were no new damages at all and everything was fine. They didn't even send us any invoice or information about these extra costs and now they don't answer to our emails. (The German thrifty answered but apparently they don't have access to the South African or US system - another point which is ridiculous for such a big firm) I am really disappointed and will never book thrifty again!

Hey, it got us aroundPros: Staff are friendly and helpful, and prices are reasonable.Cons: The pickup truck was old and somewhat anemic and we had to get a broken tail pipe support bracket re-welded while on the road. On the plus side, the dinged-up vehicle gave us a very low profile appearance.

Cons: I did not know that they had to hold a certain amount even though they already taken the rental amount. When you use a credit card not a debit card it shouldn't happen or let the party know about it
