Great experience at Great Falls
Pros: Rented a car at Great Falls Hertz, staff there are very friendly and professional - they explained the rental options clearly and no pressure to added any extra service. The checkout and return process is smooth and no hidden charges. The car we got was a 2018 Corrola, nice, clean and gas efficient.
We got what we expect from a good reputation car-rental company and we will keep Hertz as our #1 choice for our next trip.
Cons: Noop! Reached the par of excellence.

Pros: Hertz was entirely without fault. Very polite, prepared and accommodating.
Kayak did not clearly display that the 33% additional taxes, so my reasonable rate became EXPENSIVE. Too much SMALL PRINT, HIDDEN IN THE DETAILS, NOT CLEARLY STATED that YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY A LOT MORE.

Pros: The staff in Great Falls on 10th Ave are great... the cars not so much.
Cons: First, let me say the staff were great. The problem was the car. The key would not open it. Enterprise has no available staff to answer calls on Sunday.When finally opened, the car would not start. Had to use Uber A LOT. But they gave to 2 days credit and another car.

Vendor had no record of the reservation - forced to go elsewhere
Pros: It appears easy IF you do not really want to get a car.
Cons: They had no record of the reservation and no cars available. I was forced to scramble for a last minute reservation from anyone who had a car and pay a higher price. PLUS, this took about an hour extra putting my whole schedule off.
Pros: Alamo has always been good for me. The Mini van for us works great.

Pros: I liked the comfort and interior of the vehicle
Cons: 1. Requested a Mid size SUV and received a Full size SUV.
2.Were told by the representative in Great Falls that the vehicle had been checked out and had no issues. When I walked out to the SUV in the dark I could plainly see it had been hit in the side by another vehicle or had sideswiped another vehicle. I went back in and informed the representative who than went in the back and came out and said oh we did document that and then dismissed me. I asked if they had a different suv I could take. He said no that's all they had even though there were multiple Alamo SUVs parked out side.

reserved a compact car or similar...
Pros: The price was good so we made reservations online for a compact car. I called to verify and Alamo provided good customer service.
Cons: We did not get a compact car, we got an SUV and it just so happens it was a SUV that we particularly do not like. Uncomfortable and spend more on gas than anticipated.

Pros: Car had enough room for our needs and was comfortable. Gas tank was full. Ran fine, but didn't start and stay running on first key turn. Strange for a vehicle with just over 4000 miles.
Cons: Car was not very clean inside or out. Rear cargo mat was as if campers had just taken out gear and left the dried up mud behind. Windshield was very dirty inside and out.

Not a good deal
Pros: The vehicle got great gas mileage.
Cons: The inside was clean, but the exterior was filthy. The air conditioning didn't work. The final price was DOUBLE what I was told it would be.
Pros: The lady at my pickup point was wonderful, and after a 2 hour ordeal trying to rent the car she helped us sort everything out and get on the road. This was about the ONLY positive experience I had with Avis.
Cons: After being told my rental would be $1500 and repeatedly confirming this, I arrived at my pickup location and was told the price would be $2700. I did not have this amount accessible but was informed that the price could not be reduced until I payed that amount as a deposit. After two hours and a few phone calls begging for money, We had the car at a price of $2000 which I was expected to call up and negotiate about. Later in the trip our keys became locked in the trunk. This then became a 2 day ordeal in which avis had us towed us 100 miles and wasted hours of our time, ignoring everything I had told them as if I knew nothing. All our belongings, including phone and wallet were locked in the trunk. After arriving 100 miles and 3 hours away from where we were supposed to be staying we were informed the car could not be opened until the next morning. I explained that I could not pay for accommodation since I had nothing on me and the employee simply shrugged at me and handed me the keys to a different car. After sleeping in the car in a parking lot we returned the next day to find out, despite being told the car would be unlocked with another key by avis, that they had torn out the back seats and damaged our belongings.

Pros: We returned the first car after one day because of low tire pressure warning. Avis agent had a new car available immediately. It was a painless exchange. This was before we headed out on a 900 mile trip to Glacier Natl Park. So no worry about tires after that.
Cons: The first car was a bit sorry looking with lots of damage areas and 26,000 miles on it. But the second car was beautiful with only 9000 miles on it. The first car did not represent Avis reputation, but the second car definitely did.
