Took a few minutes to check in but service, the near perfect car we had and ease of driving in and out of Manhattan gives me an entirely new perspective of car rental in NYC. Will def do it again!

The Upper west side location needs more associates working the store. One person was working throughout the 2 hours I was there and only one additional colleague was there to help.

I got to the rental office on W83rd St. prior to my 10:00am pick-up time and there was a line out the door (I'll give them a little leeway here because the office is very small). 11:00am came and went, 12:00pm came and went, I never even got inside the building to speak with an employee, nor did I see anyone in front of me in line receive the cars that they booked. I suspect they didn't have any cars left to provide for the growing line of agitated customers, and while this may be related to the pandemic and was outside of their control, what was within their control would have been for someone to come outside and tell us what was going on, or let us know that they were expecting a long delay or that our plans would likely have to be cancelled.

The car had some dirty napkins inside, but it was expected to return it clean to avoid any additional charges. The guy at the rental tried to convince us that we need an upgrade, although this turned out to be false. The car itself had pretty basic options, but it did its job. I am not sure if the poor experience is due to covid (lack of cars, lack of staff, etc.) or the company.

pick up staff was quick. not necessarily friendly, but quick.the car was disgusting inside. it was clearly not cleaned (but the "this car has been cleaned" paper was placed inside) and it smelled. It still had someone's dirty mask in the backseat, dust/soot everywhere and dried snot on the dash/door.

Staff were extremely helpful and kind. Car was VERY clean, which is so necessary during the COVID pandemic.It feels unbelievably expensive. I understand it's a one-way trip, but the fees are outrageous. I'm glad upgrading in person was cheaper than online.

First Avis location closes at 5pm on a weekday making it impossible to pickup a car if you have a fulltime job. Second Avis location was much better with friendly assistance. Definitely on brand that has two very different views on how to run a companyCar smelled really bad and had commercial plates, which made driving intolerable

Enterprise always has great customer service and they make pick-up and return fast and easy. They are my preferred car rental agency.Due to demand, the prices of rental cars are high right now. Enterprise was on par with other companies but my wallet still felt the hit.

The car was really dirty. I found trash under the seat and nuts and crumbs surrounding the gear shift. The dash was and car doors had mud or some type of stain on them. This was the dirtiest car I’ve ever rented. Also the windshield was filthy.

Sad epilogue of what I thought a decent rentalFriendly staff, location reacheable by public transportationI rented a car for one day and unlimited mileage and I was charged for two days even after returning the vehicle within the allowed timeframe (just as instructed by the staff) I called the manager for details and I was still charged for the second day. Although friendly, the staff was not well prepared and was misleading.
