The hotel is in a good location. It has a very nice spa, with Hamman and sauna. The room was clean and the staff were very helpful. I would warmly recommend.
The swimming pool wasn't open and there were lots of people in the spa area - we couldn't go to the jacuzzi as this was already occupied. The relaxation area is far from the sauna.
My 3rd stay in the hotel and definitely not the last one. Great location. Good value for money. Impressive gin bar. Friendly and helpful staff especially at front desk.
If I have to pick something to complain about it would be how very dark the rooms are (the lighting is not sufficient), and quality of bathrobes and bath towels is hit and miss. On first day i had lovely thick and soft bathrobe and next day (we haven't request change of towels or anything) it was replaced with old heavily washed and overused bathrobe. Note: Jacuzzi is super small. It fits comfortably one couple, rest would be awkwardly close to each other.
external pol and facility. it was begging of November, but outside was cold around 2 degrees. Water in the swimming pool was at 26 degrees. Not enough. It is cold! not good service
Great design and lovely interiors. Rooms was functional and well equipped. Breakfast buffet was excellent.
Advertised pool was closed and appeared that this had been the case for some time. This feature should be removed from listing. Shag pile carpet is funky, but also smelt bad probably due to many wet shoes. Need to upgrade flooring.
This is the best location in Chamonix if you're using the hotel to start/stop the TMB. It's right outside of the Chamonix Sud bus stop, so you don't have to walk far hauling all your stuff. The pool is great, rooms are comfortable, nice view of the mountain (if you're on a pool-facing room), and ample lounge space with boardgames for rain days. The new gin pairing bar is amazing. We tried three different gin concoctions, created by the bartender based off of our preferences - each were excellent. Dinner here is hit or miss, depending on the meal you order. Service staff can be a little forgetful or cold. Just drink the gin and forget your expectations for the meal. Front desk staff is pretty helpful. They will store your luggage whilst you hike - super bonus for this convenience!
Room lighting needs to be a bit better - the dark decor (which is cute!) with limited lighting makes it dim, even during daylight. Bathroom in our second stay room was not as clean as our first stay bathroom; toilet was running constantly and there was a bit of a plumbing odor. We just closed that door and it wasn't a problem.
A five minute walk from the town centre, next to the cable-car for the Aiguille du Midi, resolutely contemporary Le Refuge des Aiglons has undergone a complete renovation over the autumn period 2016. The hotel is part of an unprecedented sustainable development, including an outdoor pool heated by a wood pellet boiler. With its 107 rooms, the hotel caters for a family and sports clientele, and for the more studious thanks to its spacious seminar rooms. In addition to its restaurant and bar, the hotel offers the services of a genuine mountain spa, outdoor pool, sauna and steam room in the gardens of the hotel, health centre, and fitness centre
