Good sized room and bathroom
A very sad hotel, desperately in need of a complete refurb.
Very friendly host even waited until late for our arrival, Great room for our family
Very nice staff!
The staff were friendly and hospitable. The meals were home cooked and tasty.
comfortable and very reasonable rooms bright and airy and plenty of room
Nice pub round the corner by the sea that did yummy food and good beer at reasonable prices. Comments from the kitchen about guests at breakfast were hilarious!
The room smelled damp. Bathroom tiles were cracked and dirty and the floor had a hole in it. Window frame was rotten and dirty. No biscuits. Could only get bbc on telly. There were Christmas decorations in the dining room - it is summer - get a grip! Staff were making very audible comments about guests from the kitchen. Smallest cereal bowls in the world. Poor quality sausages and tinned tomatoes at breakfast.
Fairly central. Landlord was very helpful when we needed to book a restaurant at the last moment for a large party. And gave helpful advice about buses. Also quite friendly. Bedside lights that came on by touch were good.
Decor in rooms is unspeakable - anyone for black net curtains, black satin cushions and whie flock wallpaper? Breakfast is awful. Bar smells of old beer. It is the first time I have ever been given a piece of grey lamb passed off as a rare rump steak - and known it was not even worth making a fuss.
The room was lovely, clean, comfortable and everything worked, including a fairly new freeview tv. Excellent breakfast with a good choice of menu. We ate in the bar on 2 nights, again the food was excellent with a wide selection to chose from, at a very reasonable price. The was also a dining room menu. Very comfortable residents lounge.
There were old silk flower arrangements which needed dusting, and Christmas decorations everywhere, including a tree adorned with lights over our table in the dining room! In was the end of May!
Lovely 'character' hotel, great location, we were made very welcome from start to finish, the food was excellent and the view from the room spectacular. Even exotic pets welcomed.
The shower thing was a bit elderly (& frail..) though it worked if treated kindly.
