Pros: The owners were really nice. We had wine and snacks. The garden has beautiful flowers, and the rooms are well kept.
Cons: Our sheets were wrinkled on the two sides where people sleep, and had light streaks that looked to us like skin lotion. We asked to change them, and felt better afterwards.

7,1 Good
Pros: Breakfast at one table with other guests is nice. Rooms are clean.
Cons: No personal welcome if you arrive after 6 or 7 pm. We are not fans of beans, mexican kind of breakfast. A bit overpriced.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Immaculate home and the grounds were fairly well maintained. Comfortable room.
Cons: The home is right on Main Street and there was a bit of traffic noise, especially in late afternoon. It didn’t help that there was a car show in town that day. It was a hot day as well and we had our window open to try to keep cool. Not as relaxing as I had hoped.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great - lovely scrambled egg. Bedroom was very comfortable. The drinks in the early evening to meet the other gusts was a great idea.
Cons: The WiFi did not work at all well. The enclosed shower curtain in the bath was awkward and claustrophobic.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast and wine tasting in the evening with excellent company.
Cons: Nothing I can think of.

Pros: The location of this hotel is great but don’t go there if you don’t like dogs. It seems it is a place where god owners go for a stay. they even supply complimentary dog biscuits!
Cons: The breakfast they deliver to your door is quite poor.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The woman who ran the office was excellent and fun

Pros: The breakfast was good, nice how they brought it to our room.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel with a very warm Californian welcome - thank you Jackie. Stunning sunset!!!!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very very fun and friendly staff. Love the pet-friendly atmosphere and would consider bringing my two little doggies next time. Loved the brownies and dog biscuits in the lobby and the breakfast basket at the room door At 8:15 is a nice touch.
Cons: This is not easy ‘cause it was a nice place all around. Okay, I’ll be picky. Could have used more coffee creamer and more tea packets. At breakfast, a little more butter and jam for the muffin/ crescente.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This is a very pet friendly establishment. At check in they had doggie treats and provided me with a basket for my dog. The room was clean and comfortable. Each room provides wine glasses and ice buckets for your drinks. Great seating in the front of the inn to admire views of the beach and ocean while drinking your wine or eating a picnic. In the morning we were greeted with a basket hanging outside our door with fresh fruit, orange juice and pastries. Walking distance to two restaurants. Highly recommended.
Cons: The front desk doesn't open until 8 AM. I wanted a good cup of coffee versus what hotels provide in your room. For those of us that are early risers (and heavy coffee drinkers), I had to drive into Cambria to purchase a cup of coffee rather than get a fresh brewed cup in the office. However, I did enjoy my coffee outside in the seating area of the inn watching the early morning surfers while my little guy roamed around smelling all the new scents.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and modern room design. Beautiful ocean view and perfect weather. The staff is very friendly and professional.

Pros: Reception staff were very good about letting us check-in early. We had a lovely (pricey!) clean room on the 2nd floor overlooking the ocean. Plenty of parking. Fireplace and jacuzzi in the room, although used neither. Sadly the weather let us down so we couldn't make the most of the balcony. The Inn is just opposite the boardwalk, which we enjoyed walking. Reasonable choices for breakfast.
Cons: Nothing.

Cons: Ovation of room was awful. Overlooking car park everybody going by saw straight into our room
5,0 Okay

8,0 Excellent
Pros: Beds and room. Location
Cons: One night some people were having a get-together at a fire-pit by our room. Woke us up. I called the hotel management, but after 9 PM there is no manager at the hotel. I got a manager on the phone in some other location. It took them 40 minutes to come
9,6 Excellent
Pros: I love the room. Cozy!!!
Cons: Maybe bigger breakfast selectionI
9,7 Excellent
Pros: Clean, very nice staff, yummy breakfast, perfect location across from the beach.
Cons: The fireplace made a loud clicking noise every time it came on during the night. It is the heater for the room so if you want it warm, you have to keep it on. It woke me every time, sadly because I'm a light sleeper.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were incredible Comfortable and cozy
Cons: Everything The location the rooms the breakfast
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The location was right across from the beach boardwalk, and even though the property sits along the road, traffic was very light. The fire pits with glass windscreens were comfortable, welcoming, and a nice touch.
Cons: Breakfast was delivered to the room and was somewhat limited in choice. I much prefer a breakfast bar where you can go between set hours and choose what you like. There were no vegan options for breakfast.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location! 2 minutes’ walk to the sea. We were able to see a gorgeous sunset near the beach. The fireplace in the room is also a plus.
Cons: The facilities in the room were a little bit dated.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: it is nice to have there, wish there was a microwave in the room to heat up some of the rolls or eggs.

4,2 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: We booked a King sized room with a jetted rub. When we arrived the bed was a queen. The ceiling fan had a mind of it's own and worked when it wanted to. The oscillating fan that was provided since there is no air conditioning was melted and I had to request a new one. And the biggest bummer of all was the non working jetted tub. I was offered only 20% off. 20% off was a slap in the face.. the room rate was over $300. Really??!!?! Where's the customer service???

Pros: Charming inn with ocean views. They brought hot tea and baked goods to our room in the morning.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good but for people who are watching their carbohydrates, it is a nightmare. Sent suggestion to inn keeper to offer a non-carb option. It was in a beautiful location, right across the street from the boardwalk.
Cons: Carb filled breakfast. The toilet is low and short and not much room between the wall and the toilet. The chairs in the room were in horrible shape. I mentioned this at checkout and was informed they will be remodeling shortly.

Pros: The whole experience was wonderful.
Cons: Maybe a bigger variety of fruit and breads for breakfast.

Pros: Rooms very comfortable. Nice to have a fireplace. Good breakfast
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Everything else was amazing. The room was beautiful, the hotel gave us maps and highlighted how to get to places we needed to go. Very relaxing and wholesome.
Cons: There was some work I could not get done because the wifi was horrible.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great location to Hearst Castle, beautiful walk along the beach, easy access, fire place in room
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great location just across the road from the beautiful beach. We had booked a King bed garden view room but they appeared to have overbooked so they upgraded us to a sea view at no extra cost. The room was huge with a full sea view and would have been a lot more expensive so we were happy! Breakfast buffet room was busy and the food options adequate. Top tips.....this is a weekend destination for locals so weekday stays will be less crowded and maybe less expensive. The beach area and the town are entirely separate and too far to walk. Worth the 10 minute drive to have a look around but stay near the beach. Hearst Castle is 5 miles to the north and is well worth a visit. Strongly recommend you aim to get there early, say 10 to 10.30 a.m. Also do stop at the Elephant Seal rookery near San Simeon. Fantastic views of these enourmous animals close in on the beach with knowledgeable local volunteers on site to answer all your questions. Seriously.....it was amazing! The Moonstone Beach Bar & Grill is within 100 yards of the Fogcatcher. Opens at 5 pm....get there early to get a table outside and watch the sun go down over the sea. It is busy especially on weekends so once you have a table, take your time and enjoy!
Cons: Expensive especially on Friday night and weekends.....but nearly everywhere is down the Big Sur.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Spacious room. Perfect location for walk on moonstone beach, ocean just steps away. A few restaurants within walking distance and centre of cambria a very short drive. The breakfast provided was good with some hot food options. Pool heated to a good temperature.
Cons: Slight smell of damp in the room.
6,7 Good
Pros: The breakfast was nice, food was decent, but pretty much standard fare.

Pros: Room was beautiful. Breakfast was very good. Perfect location.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Location and accommodations were great. Breakfast options were up to the par of many higher end hotels. Only one very minor item. They wasn't an ice machine in our building. Had to go to another building or the front desk to get ice. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.
Cons: We didn't really have an issue other than the lack of an ice machine in our building. there were no other problems. this was simply a great place to stay.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Rooms spacious and beds comfy, good selection at breakfast, stunning views of the oeean
Cons: Doors to room and bathroom needed to be wiped down under handles, window ledges in breakfast room needed wiping
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff and great location-quiet beach location!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We loved this place and will return. The location can’t be beat - it is directly across the road from moonstone beach and the boardwalk. There is a small pool and a separate hot tub. Towels are provided. The free breakfast is a delight - fruit, oatmeal, hot buffet, pastries and bagels, waffle maker, hot drinks, juices and mimosas. There is a fridge, microwave and coffeemaker in the room. It is a five minute car ride to Cambria Main Street. Hated leaving the place.
Cons: Not all rooms have views or balconies and we didn’t have either. If returning we would make sure we had both. The bathroom in our room was a little like a school shower/bathroom and could do with seriously updating.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast food was good. Breakfast room was small and cold. The room was a suite and very comfortable. The bed and bedding was like sleeping on a cloud!
Cons: The cost of the room was too high for two nights midweek. We stayed on a Monday & Tuesday. We were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary. I was disappointed that nothing special was done to acknowledge it for the price we paid. Other hotels have left a card or flowers, even complimentary champagne.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: It was so close to the ocean. Loved sitting on the patio watching the waves.
Cons: Nothing
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Oatmeal was the Bomb!
Cons: Pot smokers in room next to us

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great spot directly on the beach. Lovely rooms very comfortable.
Cons: Absolutely nothing
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Room was clean, bed was comfy. Nice continental breakfast. Great kocation
Cons: Would have been mice to have mini fridge in the room. Also would like a better place to relax attached to room.
7,9 Good
Pros: the location, the decor
Cons: the facility was basically a 1950s style motor inn with small rooms, small bathroom, and a cramped, hard-to-navigate parking area. The walls are thin and we could hear way too much going on with adjacent neighbors. However, ownership has done a good job of making the best of the basic structure with accents, a good breakfast, atmosphere, a wonderful observation deck, and excellent staff. However, location is fantastic---the beach is right across the street. And that is hard to beat.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, crisp rooms decorated with a modern, beachy vibe; the location right across from the beach, the bicycles available to all guests, the deck for sunset watching, and the friendly staff.
Cons: No coffee in the rooms.

Pros: Right on a beautiful beach, great little historic town, the bikes are a great touch. Great modern beach themed interiors. Good coffee.
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is perfectly situated on a coastal road and the beach is right on your door step. Hotel has bikes for guest usage which were great to use to explore the area for a couple of hours. Room we had was super clean. Bed was large and really comfortable. Breakfast was served in reception area. Coffee tea and juice served with a choice of sweet cakes and croissants, fruit and eggs. Guests help themselves. The guy at reception was really helpful regarding recommendations of where to eat. We were only here 1 night so opted for Lynns Restaurant which was full of locals and the food was great. If we ever visit the area again we would definitely stay at this hotel.
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Check in was fast and easy and friendly staff.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the beach house feel, look and décor. It was an easy walk to the private beach. The area is hidden so you feel secluded. at the front desk, welcomed us with a warm friendly smile and was informative on the area and places to eat.
Cons: The bed was uncomfortable. The parking is hard to maneuver in, and our parking spot was taken twice- as per their instructions to park in front of our room, we tried...others did not listen. Other than that, there are no complaints!

Pros: Location
Cons: The bedding was scratchy, and the beds were uncomfortable. The rooms are outdated, and the outlets are hard to get to. The morning breakfast help was grouchy.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were newly updated and beautifully decorated. Very comfortable beds. Our room faced a quiet, courtyard rose garden. It was on the ocean side of the highway and it was a short, 2 minute walk to the ocean and view of the sunset. Wonderful outdoor seating around gas fires and outdoor games set up. Great breakfast at restaurant on site.
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location, just next to the beach from which we saw Dolphins and pelicans. The room was extremely comfortable, with a beautiful bath and really fun decorations. There was an option to sit outside next to the fire and bake some marshmallows :) It was close to the road, but at night the road was not busy at all, and we didn't hear the sounds of the cars from the room at all. Very happy with the hotel and the little town of Cambria.
Cons: Everything was amazing!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was amazing, the real fire was so relaxing along with the claw bath and comfortable bed and pillows.
Cons: No Dressing gowns provided in the room

Pros: The rooms were very nice and we liked the fireplaces! The location was excellent! The drive to Hearst Castle was quick and the ocean is very close- we heard it with our window open !
Cons: The staff was very helpful when asked, however we walked by - RIGHT next to them—numerous times and they never looked up from their computer! This happened with 3 different employees, so for them that would be normal.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms and amenities were comfortable and clean. Bathrooms were nicely upgraded with tile/travertine finishes.
Cons: The mini fridge was a little too small to hold much other than a few bottles of water or a couple of small snacks.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The mattress was so, so good. We only got 6-7 hours of sleep but it felt so good. The hike to the ocean was really nice.
Cons: We arrived quite late so we got a room on the first (ground), not the nicest view.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The room was beautiful. Staff were very helpful.
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was in a great location. It had a wooden trail right outside the entrance that lead to the beach. The room was beautiful, clean, and cozy. I will most definitely be back. Definitely worth the money!!
Cons: The hotel was perfect
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Spacious room with fireplace. My husband loved the desk.
Cons: Would have loved an ocean view, but other than that it was a wonderful hotel!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: This is a fairly new hotel more in the form of a boutique hotel which is ideally placed for moonstone beach. All very clean and stylish.
Cons: They only serve breakfast that is ordered the previous evening.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Room size was large, bed comfortable, bar facilities, restaurant recommendations
Cons: Would have been nice to have had an onsite restaurant
10,0 Excellent
Pros: So close to one of the best restaurants in town “sea chest”.
Cons: No ocean view. Just trees. But perfect otherwise.
4,0 Okay
Pros: Rooms were great and the private walkway to the ocean is a nice bonus
Cons: The staff treated extremely poorly initially since my reservation did not appear. I matched her mood by sarcastically providing the room style, cost after tax ect, but without it showing, nicely put they had the opposite of a customer first attitude.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean. The amenities in the room was excellent.
Cons: I think the price I paid was too high.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: the room our beds very comfortable. friendly and helpful saff
Cons: when I filled out the breakfast request....I was dissatisfied with my order...too costly for brown bagging it...not happy about it at all...two items were missing..driver did bring the missing items....
5,7 Okay
Pros: It was near everything, and the singer Saturday night was great
Cons: We had way too many ants in our room. If you put food down for one minute there would be a thousand ants, they were all over the room .
8,0 Excellent
Pros: It was very quit, clean and comfortable.
7,7 Good
Pros: Staff was very friendly. The ambiance was fabulous. Very comfortable.
Cons: The breakfast buffet was only so so for the price we paid for the room. I thought it could have been better given all the fresh fruits available in California. The danishes were a little stale. Not much of a variety.
5,7 Okay
Pros: Nice property with good rooms. Not on the beach and no water views is a downside. Breakfast is included, but its a pretty meager spread with not much effort put behind the food. Staff was very helpful.
6,0 Good
Pros: The staff was friendly and new their hotel well. The location was conveniently close to town.
Cons: The hotel is not exactly on Moonstone beach which was a disappointment. Also noise from the hallway permeated into the far too easily.

7,1 Good
Pros: Our room was great. Steps down to town.
Cons: Restaurant/bar was understaffed all weekend because if two weddings. It was hard to get a drink. Free breakfast was not very inspiring. Bland and tasteless. The front desk clerk was not friendly when I checked in. I never give bad reviews but this needed to be said.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: pleasant rooms, really nice resort, beautfiful pine trees and gardens, nice free breakfast, wifi, parking, live-music, they don't have a gym, but there are 257 stairs down to main street Cambria which allows for good exercice
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The size of the property and the surrounding gardens were a nice surprise. The breakfast was enjoyable and hit the spot. The room was large with a comfortable bed.
Cons: Nothing.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: I love the grounds. Fantastic. Pool very nice. I saw a deer! Love walking the gardens. Love my patio. Comfortable room.
Cons: My only annoyance was the bartender - they are not that friendly - there is no drink menu, no specialty cocktails and when I asked them to make me something they didn't know how and had an attitude. I love hospitality and can spend a good amount of money at a bar so I'd like them to raise that bar on bar menu and service. The wait staff in the restaurant was just OK too. OH, also bathroom needs a FAN! And the room needs that inside lock so that staff can't just walk in... make me feel safer too! :)
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Good service and a comfortable room.
Cons: We were in an annexe across the road from the main hotel and it felt a bit cut off.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very good location and breakfast.

7,0 Good
Pros: The location is fabulous, just step over the (quiet) road onto the boardwalk and beach. The breakfast was good and plentiful.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location, right on the coast. Room was very spacious and clean. Heated swimming pool was great!
Cons: Breakfast room extremely small.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: It was ideally located right across from the walkway. The chairs out front are great for relaxing and looking out at the ocean.
Cons: The only negative thing I would say was the young lady checking me in. She just seemed disinterested in her job. The young man at checkout was super friendly and helpful.
7,5 Good
Pros: The location was the only good thing to mention here..
Cons: Well.. this was the only location (out of 9 locations in the two weeks trip in CA, AZ) where I am giving such score... - The first thing was the cold attitude of the reception staff (the girl at the reception was playing on her mobile and my presence there, for the checking, was a disturbing moment for her activities). - The room was marketer as ocean view - but compared with the other nearby hotels where you will have, in fact, a room with a view, in this hotel’s case you will have a room with a parking view with a partial ocean view somewhere in the distance. - The breakfast was very basic - Poor noise insulation of the room
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel good breakfast comfort bed Really nice view on the morning cross the street to the sea
Cons: Really bad water flow called to the reservation but no answer in the morning we noticed it was for everyone

Pros: Huge rooms and beach front location. Waffle maker in the breakfast room was good. Front desk staff very friendly.

Cons: Outdated for the price
7,5 Good
Pros: We liked the convenience of were the Fireside was located. Within walking distance of the beach. Also, that they serve breakfast.
Cons: The location of the room. No light coming in and right off the HWY. We had booked our room sometime ago. We did have to reschedule a month ago, because of medical emergency. Also bathroom needs, something for people who are in the shower to hold onto, when they are getting in and out. I work in an industry with seniors. Falls are high on the list for Seniors.

Pros: This was a gem of a find in Cambria. After a day of driving down the Pacific coast it was a delight to be able to relax in the spa bath in the room. An amazing restaurant is right next door with some fantastic Lobster and Steak. Having the beach straight across the road made the setting even better. By far the best night of our holiday.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place.. Obviously you pay quite a lot here for staying in the nicer rooms, but we ended up enjoying it. Very cool hottub in the room, Nice fireplace in front of hotel to enjoy some red wines at night.. and to watch the sunset.
Cons: Restaurants close at 9PM in Cambria. Having to pay for breakfast when you already pay 260$ for a room is absurd.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Front desk girl at both check in & our was extremely helpful and noce
Cons: Thought it was a bit expensive
6,3 Good
Pros: Location was fine. We had an ocean front room, but view of ocean was often blocked by RV's

Pros: I moved the quaint mountainy feel of the inn.
Cons: it would be nice if the balconies had a little more privacy. Perhaps a lattice partition in between or something.
4,0 Okay
Pros: Staff was great. Hand delivered blankets.
Cons: Beds below par. Bed covering similar to a sheet which is weird for winter. I guess they think that's ok because a heater is in room. Soap is terrible scratchy quality.
5,0 Okay
Pros: The gentleman who checked us in was very nice and later came to room to help with tv operation...
Cons: The room was basic, clean, and devoid of any charm, sorry to say. Simple amenities were absent. No glasses......decor old, dated.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Location, cleanliness, staff was nice, charming from the outside. This property has alot of potential. There is something to be said about stepping back in time a little.
Cons: Beds were "potato chipped",feel and hear the springs. Just didn't meet 3 star expectations. Overall, Comparitevly speaking, price is steep for what you don't get, however, it is probably in line with the tourist demand in this area.
5,0 Okay
Cons: Room looks like it was designed in the 1970's and not one upgrade since. Room definitely needs an upgrade
7,9 Good
Pros: The stay was lovely, we were very warmly welcomed and the room was well appointed. The bed was comfy (although I was unaware of the bed bugs - my husband, having discovered them, slept badly).
Cons: The one thing we didn't like was that my husband found bed bugs in the bed...(unfortunately kinda a big deal).
7,5 Good
Pros: The place is clean and nice, just a little dated
6,7 Good
Cons: Housekeeping was non existent. We stayed three nights. No one came to make the bed, bring towels, coffee, or anything else.

7,5 Good
Pros: Great location to the downtown shops
Cons: Very outdated, the paint on the tiles in the shower was peeling off, no mini fridge or microwave.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Nice setting with nature, creek and local farm cows as neighbors. Enjoyed the morning alarm clock of mooow...my travel companion said cow must have gotten on wrong side of fence. Nice to have balcony to nature. Great mattress! Asked what it was it was so comfortable.
Cons: Not your ocean view...but that was not what we were looking for ...no breakfast or donuts...just candy jar...but we loved the breakfast joints in town Cambria :)
