Super thick bed! Free coffee available around the clock. Friendly staff. Hand soap at the sink in the kitchen was nice as it is rare to find it in most hostels.
Many disposable products like paper plates and plastic cutlery were a bit weird to me after travelling around Europe. Also the shower cube could be cleaner.
The hostel is close to Manhattan by subway and the staff is friendly and helpful. The room was simple but quite big and was cleaned everyday. However I don’t understand why there are two bedrooms on the first floor... One of them is right next to the computer room/living room, so it can get really noisy at night (even with earplugs on). As for the people, you never know, it’s a matter of luck and it seems like I was unlucky this time. Some weirdo even threatened me after I asked him to turn off the music he was listening to super loudly at 5am... The living room was dirty and smelly in the mornings. Disrespectful guests just leave their food/drinks on the tables, some guys were also sleeping on the sofas... Made me wonder if those guys were actually paying for a room as the main door is never closed. Anyway, I think I was unlucky and I don’t blame the staff but still, it’d be nice if they asked some of their guests to be more respectful.
The bed was very comfortable. I especially liked all of the amenities. Available computers, game room, available coffee and tea. The refrigerator was a big plus. Good security. Lots of brochures, of things to do in the city. Nearby public transportation. (Subway station and buses)
Bathroom could have been a little cleaner. I did check in late at night, that may have had something to do with it.
Really comfortable bed and nice en-suite bathroom, good common areas, very friendly staff. Convenient for subway stations
Overall very good, but the shower did take an extremely long time to heat up (but maybe unavoidable in an old building in fall).
Very clean, accommodating, rooms and bathrooms are big, there are coffee and water cooler at the facility, a lot of other things I had no time to discover as stayed only one night.
Excellent value for the price, I would really recommend the hostel! Only what was not so excellent is the neighborhood, but still fine.
