Friendly staff. Great backyard
Great location, beautiful views to snowy mountains from room. Rooms basic but okay.
There was a power cut at the hotel from 8:30pm until midnight, and no-one at the hotel to contact to check what was happening. As a result of the power cut it was pitch black and freezing cold as presumably the heating system also needs electricy. When I asked the next morning at the front desk she was somewhat unapologetic about the situation, seeming rather annoyed that I brought the issue up.
Have been visiting the Bridgeport area for 50 years and always enjoy the town. I have stayed at the Walker River Lodge in the past.
The room was COLD! I turned the heaters up to the max and used a towel to block the cold air from under the door (gap). As I was packing to leave I found a second electric heater in the wall behind the table in the corner. If I owned the business and had a room scheduled to be occupied for the evening I would turn the heater on in the afternoon so the room was warm when my guest arrived to present a welcoming atmosphere.
I liked that it was clean. Lots of pillows and blankets. Quiet spot. Nice river view. The shower was nice and hot and I liked the heater in the bathroom. Lots of towels. Beds were comfortable. Good choices on tv. Room warmed up fast with heater on.
The staff wasn’t real friendly. The night girl was cut and dry. The older woman in the morning wasn’t friendly at all. The breakfast was very plain. Not a lot of choices. Everything tasted old. Except the Bagels and yogurt. The muffins were just okay. The cream cheese was powdery and funny tasting. The coffee was terrible!! All of the creamer, that had flavor was Non-Dairy. Yuck! But, it was that or plain half n half. The orange juice cups even had a strange taste to them. There was no where to sit down after getting food. You had to go back to your room to eat. Even the coffee in the room tasted terrible. The soap they give you in the shower isn’t very good either. It’s rough and takes a while to suds up. Also it dries out your skin. Everything echos loudly in the toilet area. So, if you’re traveling romantically, take note they’re going to hear you tooting on the toilet.
Great location, friendly staff, clean.
