Pros: A quaint little hotel with modern rooms and nice decor. Situated in the old town, so it is not possible to take the car all the way to the hotel. We were late for check in, but it was all solved on telephone and we could get into the room really late at night. We were given a card to be able to go into the restricted area with our car and found parking there without a problem. There were some problems with boiling the eggs at breakfast, but that may well have been user errors, hehe. Otherwise ample breakfast. Pauline, who was good at English, gave us excellent advice about where to hike, thank you for that.
Cons: As we had our room on the top floor, there were quite a few stairs to climb. An elevator would have been handy.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed here several times now over the last few years and this place never disappoints. The rooms are clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. Beds are comfortable and the bathrooms modern. Well located inside the citadel. Good breakfast and friendly staff. English spoken.
Cons: Nothing to complain about with the exception of WIFI signal in rooms could be better.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Quaintness of the old town and being able to have drinks on the ramparts of the Vauban fort while watching the sunset.
Cons: Very noisy given it is in the centre of the old town, but this may have been an exception as the police had to come to stop a guy doing maintenance.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Cute location. Cute building
Cons: Small room
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Well appointed room. Spacious and comfortable. The restaurant was great. Best lamb shank I've ever eaten, and I often eat lamb. Wait staff was great. Good recommendation for wine.

Pros: Croissants were superb.
Cons: Limited on site parking better for the smaller car. Room felt a bit tired and squashed in.
6,7 Good
Pros: Hotel is nicely located in between old town and downtown. It offers good service for visitors and hikers and bed is comfortable, and breakfast is adequate. Nothing special but reasonable and fair value. Staff are friendly and caring.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable room with nice balcony. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Great location between the old town and new. Would recommend and stay again.
7,9 Good
Pros: Good motorcycle parking, clean room comfy bed, walls are a bit thin but other than that a good hotel, vending machine serves beer always a bonus
Cons: Nothing
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room with nice views and friendly helpful staff
Cons: The location is excellent if you arrive by car as it is just a short uphill walk to the old city. However, it is located just over halfway up a hill from the new to the old town. There were no taxis available when we arrived by train, and being in our 70s we found the walk of about 6-700 metres on the flat followed by 4-500 metres up a quite steep hill with baggage to be too much for us. Could not get wi-fi reception in our room and had to go to public area.

Close to the funicular which we went up to the Serre Chevalier on - that was fabulous. Breakfast was also fine and we thought the choices were good and when we got still warm croissants on the Sunday morning were very pleased indeed.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great location in old town, walking distance to bars, restaurants and shops. Room was nicely furnished, spotlessly clean, comfy bed and small kitchen for breakfast/coffee.
Cons: Nothing
3,3 Mediocre
Pros: The city
Cons: Appartment was dirty, very minimalise, bad kitchen gear, the shower water didn’t flush away well
5,0 Okay
Pros: The location within the old city was great. The surrounding area is magnificent. The apartment was fairly spacious.
Cons: Bad smell on arrival to later realise this was under the sink with a bucket catching a drip rather than it having been fixed. The general maintenance was bad with cupboard doors hanging off, holes in the floor, kettle broken. Whilst in a good location, the apartment did not look as homely or the same as the photos and generally poorly maintained.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The apartment was lovely and clean. It was also well equipped for everything and we need. It is also in a fantastic location! We will be returning!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great stay in Residence apartment. Very clean, comfortable and well equipped with good kitchen facilities. Beautiful location in the old town.

8,8 Excellent
Pros: The staff are brilliant. Katy has a great team who are welcoming and friendly. Huge thanks to Kevin, Nora and especially Katy. They all made our stay giving us their local knowledge and pouring the Jupiler.....
Cons: Only thing lacking for the Summer months is Air Con especially when the weather is hot hot hot
3,8 Mediocre
Pros: The bed was comfortable, the breakfast buffet was good (except I like tea in the morning and the only hot water came from a coffee maker, so was not hot enough for tea and had coffee residue in it - horrible) and my sat nav had no trouble finding it.
Cons: We arrived on a Saturday late afternoon and the receptionist spoke practically no English. This is unusual for a 4* hotel that has already written to me in perfectly good English. She denied I had reserved a parking place or booked for dinner, so I had to show her the confirmatory email to that effect. After much more tinkering with the computer, she finally gave me the access details to the car park, where my car was blocking the entrance. We then had to pay for everything in advance, including the cost of dinner. Our room was on the 5th floor and called a suite. It was so tiny we had to play ‘excuse me’ every time we went anywhere. The place was also exceedingly hot, there being no air conditioning and the outside temperature around 34C. We had booked this room so my partner had access to a balcony, which was actually larger than the bathroom but sadly just a paved box with two exceedingly unprepossessing and uncomfortable solid plastic chairs - although they looked more like concrete. No table or anything to put your cup down on etc. We moved one of the bedside tables - a block of wood - out there. The spare room was under the eaves and the beds were located in the only bit of the room it was possible to stand up in. There was one electric socket for the whole of that room and not many more in the main bedroom. Two fans were provided, one for each room, but as they were just table fans, one had to improvise with the bedside tables to get the breeze up at a reasonable height to be of any use. There was a decent coffee maker but only paper cups, not our idea of 4* service. Dinner was in a basement room with access to a few tables on the pavement outside. It was a three course buffet, much as you can get in a decent motorway service station in France. The wine came from a barrel and there seemed to be no other choice. Similarly water was served by the carafe instead of the more usual bottles.
2,9 Mediocre
Cons: Arrived late to very unfriendly host. Hard to find and limited parking. Rooms are small and outdated. Beds uncomfortable. Bed was dirty and soda in fridge had half empty cans.Arrived late to very unfriendly host. Hard to find and limited parking. Rooms are small and outdated. Beds uncomfortable. Bed was dirty and soda in fridge had half empty cans.
6,7 Good
Pros: The rooms were clean. The hotel restaurant was very friendly and very tasty. The breakfast was also very good.
Cons: There was no airconditioning and the fan that was placed in the room did not work. I had tried to reserve a parking spot, but never got a confirmation from the hotel and therefore no spot on arrival. I wouldnt expect a customer requesting to pay for parking to have to also go looking for a confirmation, but rather the hotel to inform the customer whether or whether not parking is available.
