Overview

In the heart of Bourg-en-Bresse at the foot of the Collegiale Notre-Dame and a short walk from the pedestrian streets, the Best Western Hotel de France, Bourg-En-Bresse, France, occupies a prettily renovated 1853 building that blends comfort, elegance, and refinement. The spacious rooms come with satellite television, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and a minibar, and a shaded, flower-filled courtyard and terrace offer a quiet corner away from the street. A public car park sits right out front for easy arrivals, and the warm welcome and quiet courtyard make a restful contrast to a day of sightseeing. Bourg-en-Bresse is the capital of the Bresse, a region famous across France for its prized blue-footed chickens, and its great draw is the Royal Monastery of Brou on the edge of town, a masterpiece of flamboyant Gothic with a tiled roof and three ornate cloisters. The vineyards of the Revermont and the lakes of the Bresse lie close, and between the old town and the monastery, the small Burgundian city rewards an unhurried wander.
