Very centrally located to venture out and access the city by foot - saving the pennies.
Both instances of dealing with the personnel were honestly pleasant and both checking in and checking out was without a hitch. I was also provided with some tips for the time I had to spare, when I asked for them, which is not always the case. Though the breakfast is not overly ambitious, it is still a nice touch given that it's included in an already very good price. There are small-ish lockers (just enough for a backpack) in the room, though you need your own lock for them, which I counted on, so no problem. A shower gel/shampoo in the bathroom - a nice touch. The Hatters are within an easy walking distance to the centre, so even if you walk slowly you should still reach some of the sights within 30 minutes. :)
Given the size of the (shared) room it would have been a good idea to have at least one other switch for the main light, especially as it is the only light source in the room. The sockets nearest my bunk bed did not work, which I would hope was only a temporary problem and they were clearly marked, but as there is only one set per bunk the closest were across the room and charging my phone like that is simply not an option when sharing room with several people I don't know.
The location is near Birmingham Snow Hill station (500m from it). The staff was courteous and helpful. On request, the lady provided us with a fan because it was too hot in the room.
The room size is extremely small, and there are no windows. Since the temperature was in higher 20's, the room was a boiling pot. The internet is horrible, does not work at all in the room. Even phone does not get proper network. The breakfast is only corn flakes and milk/coffee/tea. The area might be a bit scary at night.
The Staff was nice & the location was not too bad.
Just be aware that the rooms do not look at all as the pictures. There was no window in our 4 bed room and it smelled funny. The blankets are also super old & do not look acceptable anymore. Unfortunately, the kitchen also did not work & could not be used. The Breakfast only covered cereal, tea and coffee.
