Perfect for a city break
The staff were great, so friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English which helped as our German is very limited. We are a couple and stayed there for 4 nights, our room was great, very spacious and I liked the little touches they added such as mini sewing kit, cotton buds, shower cap etc. Overall the room was clean, the beds comfortable, we had to ask at reception for extra pillows which wasn’t an issue. We stayed in October 2018 and the room was nice and warm. And the hotel is round the corner from Ostbahnhof station which was perfect, about a 10 minute walk to the local bars in Friedrichshain. Overall a nice hotel for a city break.
There wasn’t really anything we disliked, the only thing I would point out is that there wasn’t any aircon which was fine for us staying in October but I imagine wouldn’t be very pleasant if you stay there in the summer. Also, the shower is in the middle of the room, again not a problem for us as we are a couple, however could have been slightly awkward if staying there with friends and family.
location its 3 mons from IStbahnfop station. connects you to berlin easily
terrible staff the room didnt even have kettle or mugs for tea the staff behaved terrible. they need to learn how to smile and greet
Great hotel... but the noise.
Friendly, helpful staff. Large rooms with plenty of amenities. Comfortable bed... really all the basics are covered and covered well.
The noise. There is a courtyard, which I think leads from the hotel's restaurant. Every night there were revelers up until 2, 3 in the morning. The echoes bounce off the rooms, amplifying it, making it difficult if you're anything but a deep sleeper. I think the earliest I was able to fall asleep was about 2am. Listen, this shouldn't completely deter you from staying here -- it has a wonderful staff and so close to just about anything -- but definitely, pack ear plugs.
Emphasis on privacy, elegant deco design.
The hotel was very elegant and private, with long corridors with very low traffic, and beautifully appointed art deco furnishings. Everything worked well, the room was very clean, and virtually all the staff very courteous and helpful. Apples at the front desk are a very nice touch.
The elevator for the one floor ride to the parking lot (where the bicycle parking is as well) was quite slow. It should serve as an indication of how good everything was that this is the only complaint I can come up with...
Good business hotel, good breakfast buffet, small fitness studio. Decent location, walk to Berghain, East Side Gallery, Friedrichshain; next to Ostbahnhof for easy access to S-Bahn and long distance trains.
Wifi doesn't reach many rooms. The hotel management promised to change the wifi system in 2014. Staff was inflexible on early checkin. Funky, glassed-in shower next to bed might be great for strippers but less for families.
With a stay at Select Hotel Berlin Ostbahnhof, you'll be centrally located in Berlin, within a 5-minute drive of East Side Gallery and Mercedes-Benz Arena. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
