The room was clean, although it had no alarm clock, radio or television which is pretty common in Europe. The room did have free wi-fi. The b&b is walking distance to everything you need in town. You must be able to climb steep stairs as this is the only access to the rooms!!!
If you are going to tour Normandy wwii sites, this may not be the place for you. The English speaking son (40ish), who runs the place, has never visited any of the wwii sites, including any cemetery. He said he "doesn't like war," so won't visit the sites. It seems a shame that so many thousands of men died to provide him with freedom and he can't take the time to visit them even once. I'm sure he's glad the Allies didn't say "we don't like war, so we won't be coming to liberate you, so sorry." If you are interested in history, then find a hotel that is run by someone who can at least discuss history and the sites with you, this isn't it. Also, he sat with us at each breakfast and watched us eat, but didn't eat or drink anything himself. So as not to be rude, we included him in the conversation, but it felt very awkward. I've never had that happen at any other b&b at which I've stayed.

“La Tour Louise is beautifully situated in the heart of Bayeux, close to the cathedral, restaurants, museums, and shops. The town has many ancient buildings and is very representative of Normandy. The hotel is in a traditional mid-nineteenth century building and fits into the theme of Bayeux and its history. Sandrine is a fantastic host, concierge, chef and conversationalist. Her English is good and she is very outgoing. Breakfast, served in the hotel, is homemade and delicious and we looked forward to the conversations around the breakfast table with Sandrine and other guests. Sandrine has great recommendations for restaurants and things to do. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. I highly recommend La Tour Louise as a hotel to stay in while in Normandy.”
