The hotel is close to the metro and the train station so in terms of transportation/location is great. It is around 30 min walk from the Gothic Quarter and 15 min to Sagrada Familia. Overall the place was clean and tidy, and Albert from the reception was super nice when we arrived (1am). We booked the place at a reduced price, around 55e/night and you get what you pay for.
There is a shisha bar next door and it was super noisy at times, people were shouting outside the hotel and we saw even the police car around. The most annoying thing during our stay was the thin walls and the door which was not properly closing (see pictures attached). You can see through between the frame of the door and the door itself. Of course, you can hear everyone talking in the hallway/by the elevator or next door. Also in the morning, we could hear the cleaning personnel around 08:30-09:00 when we were still sleeping after a night out.
The hotel was close to Sagrada Familia, there were a couple of bars and restaurants nearby. It was only half an hour from the airport. It was extremely clean and the staff were lovely, informative and very helpful. Free tea and coffee downstairs whenever you wanted. Certainly value for money and I would stay there again.
It could be a long walk to some of the locations we wanted to get to. Breakfast was a reasonable price €8 but was the same thing every day although you could alternate between cereal or toast or cooked although the bacon was not cooked crispy. The area was fine but not very interesting.
Everything was great, the staff was amazing as always. They have improved even more since the last time I visited and the renovation of the rooms is noticeable; very clean, very modern, very minimal.
