Hotel Las Bovedas

The Hotel is VERY easy to get to and parking is plentiful. The Reception area is light, bright and welcoming. Reception Staff were cheerful, professional and spoke many languages. Check-in was fast and well explained. There is no need to remember Internet passwords as this is available freely throughout the Hotel. Cleanliness of all areas was meticulous and Public Areas (as well as the decent sized bedrooms) were spotless. There are great facilities including a Restaurant, a Cafeteria/Bar, outdoor sitting area and another (more relaxed and publicly available) cafe which served those stopping for fuel in the attached Service Area. There is also a well-equipped shop attached to the Fuel stop. All the staff in these areas were cheerful and helpful.

So after explaining about all the facilities this Hotel has...why could I not award it top marks? As reviewers have said before, despite being so close to the Motorway, you cannot hear ANY road noise. However, due to a penchant for 'Laminate Flooring' the same cannot be said about noise levels from within! Particularly guests arriving/departing who like to have animated conversations in the areas outside the bedrooms. The Maid-Service started fairly early and provided an entertaining 'Tap Dancing' session for those in the rooms above and below. All furniture appeared to be dragged/scraped from one side of a room to the other...and then, eventually, returned to its original position! There was no literature about the Hotel or its facilities (Room Service etc.?) anywhere in the room and most surprising of all, there were NO toiletries whatsoever. As we had arrived for a single night stop, we brought no soap/shampoo etc. with us, expecting it to be provided. When we spoke to Reception, he was very apologetic and then asked us to "pop down" and get them from the front desk! We suggested that they might like to "pop up with them"...and the stand-off was prevented! The Mini-Bar in the room was a bit of a joke as it ran warm, was completely empty (except for a half-drunk bottle of water) and 'promised' to provide numerous 'delicacies' at greatly inflated prices! There was nothing...repeat...nothing! SO...a game of two-halves really! With the facilities and the great public areas...this Hotel should be a sure fire winner. More attention to detail within the rooms would cement the deal!
