The pickup with Avis at the airport in Vancouver BC (YVR) and the return at the airport in Portland OR (PDX) later the same day were very professional and without any concerns. The car was absolutely fine, a Hyundai Sonata which was a complimentary upgrade from a Toyota Corolla. The cost however for this one day rental was quite expensive, which I presume is a manifestation of renting in Canada and returning in the United States. But since it was less expensive than two airplane tickets (though not by much) it was the option we chose. Other than the cost, the rental was absolutely fine.Reviewed Jun 28 2026

When I got to the airport, there was no one at the office. A taxi driver had to drive me to the office in town where they told me no cars were available. I’ve traveled all over the world and this has never happened to me. This is completely unacceptable for a major company like Avis - even if it is a local affiliate.Reviewed Jun 28 2026

Tue experience with Avis went well, but priceline forgot to mention the charge for a different ciity drop off. The price waz 5 times more expensive thannwhat was mentioned in my contract. That was very unfair and shocking. This is the last time I book through priceline.Reviewed Jun 27 2026

Car given to me was new but mechanically failed within a few hundreds of km driving. Don’t fault Avis though. But number they gave me to call for help did not respond for an entire day, and only upon me calling back repeatedly and having the original desk call back on my behalf for it to be towed and replaced (which involved me going back to closest airport to pick up another car). When picking up the vehicle, the line moved incredibly slowly. The gentleman was great and took care of four guests in the time the two other ladies were still with the same customer. I paid for a complete package including insurance, additional driver, and clean fee from Avis. However when I went to pick up the car I was told that I would have to pay again since the company who actually rented the car to us was not Avis but worked with Avis.
