When I searched, the price was displayed in Canadian dollars, but when I completed the booking, it was processed in U.S. dollars. In addition, the room had a noticeable smell of smoke.Reviewed Jul 13 2026

The car only had just over half a tack of petrol at pickup and it could have been cleaner. The staff responded well, but it should have been fully fueled and ready. We also had issues with the insurance - this could be a Kayak problem. At pickup, I was told we didn't have standard insurance, which I though wasn't even possible. We had to pay extra to get standard insurance! I can understand full cover with zero excess being optional for extra cost, but standard is legally required, so I do not understand why it wasn't included by Kayak.Reviewed Jul 13 2026

I had a car reserved for July 3rd. My flight was changed and budget said I didn't need to change the pick up time bc they hold the car for 24hrs. But when I arrived they had closed for the day more than 3 hours early!! and I was staying over an hour from the airport. I had to call a ride and go back and get the car the next day. They said they were out of cars and had to put me through with avis and I didn't even get the vehicle I had reserved....they only had a smaller vehicle which really effected our transportation on the trip. Needless to say not impressed.Reviewed Jul 11 2026

First 2 vehicles given to us needed oil changes (we were about to drive 3600 miles) - check in counter people very unfriendly and uncooperative. Third vehicle was not what we reserved but had to take it anyway. Seemed like we were on a third world backwater instead if LAX. Took over 2 hours for us to be on our way at 2:30 AM. Took involvement of manager yo straighten it out and even he was having difficulty. Very poor performance by all.Reviewed Jul 11 2026

I am a Budget customer for life following my experience with Manchester Airport auto rental. And I want to ensure I credit Sabeena! She is excellent and very customer focused. Give this girl a giant raise and encourage everyone else in the airport to be more like SabeenaReviewed Jul 11 2026

Overall good, however on two consecutive days both customer service agents I spoke with over the phone gave conflicting info — both were wrong it turns out — on drop off fees. This misinformation caused some inconvenience. It wasn’t till I walked to the Budget counter in Nurnberg airport and talked to agent in person that I got accurate info. Instead of generic customer service phone number on rental agreement, It would be better to have number to desk of office where I actually rented the car.Reviewed Jul 11 2026

Just from the start of my reservation I had issues. I was supposed to pick up my vehicle at 2 PM but they didn’t have any available at the location I was originally reserved for and then I was called around 3:30pm they had a vehicle for me, but at different location. Since I was on the other side of town from where I was to pick up the car. It took me awhile to get there do to traffic, once I got there the budget had closed. The next day I went to see if they could honor my reservation, but the rate has changed, which I had to pay more for my rental. The first- car that the gentleman brought out for me had issues with a tire, it had a big piece of tire missing and I also let him know the car was missing the spare tire and the jack. He went on and telling me that not all vehicles are supplied with that. The gentleman then went back to get another car for us after he was done expecting it. We noticed that the car had issues with opening the Gas Tank. The button was not responding to unlocked the top to put gas into the car. The gentleman went back for a third car, you could tell he was already really irritated with the situation and didn’t really check the vehicle to see if everything was okay and once we inspected the car. We noticed that the car had no gas. The gentleman just wrote on the ticket and just said take the car as is and just bring it back as is. Not a very pleasant attitude with us as if we were the problem and not the vehicles that he kept bringing out. The vehicle was a little dirty, but overall was in better condition compared to the other two vehicles. The drop off situation was no any different when I walked in to return the car. It was the same gentleman and he asked if we had filled up the car tank with gas. I said no because we received it almost empty. He ask for my receipt as if I was lying. I presented to him, He kept it and went on with his business. I didn’t really enjoy my experience with this rental company compared to the other rental businesses that I have rented from in the past.Reviewed Jul 11 2026
