Be careful when renting from Budget in LA. These guys add a “fuel option” to your bill — they say it will not be charged unless you return it with the fuel tank empty. This is NOT TRUE. If you bring it back full, they will still charge you the $100+ for the fuel option unless you physically go to the office to dispute the charge. The guy at the counter even told me that this is a way the guys at the counter “try to make more money” — so be aware.Reviewed Sept 15 2025

There was a 2-hour line to pickup the car when we got to the airport. I had to cancel the reservation and book with Alamo (which, along with the 4 other car rental agencies, had a short line) to make our event on time. The Alamo agent told me that Budget does this every day, by offering low teaser rates without disclosing that you'll have to wait 2-hours+ to pick up the vehicle.
