The pickup experience was awful. Waited an hour to get the car after making a reservation weeks ago. Also they added $200 dollars to the pickup fee which I didn’t appreciate. The folks in the Richmond office were fine. However, due to a delayed flight, I had to change my car pick-up to Roanoke, which I did over the phone with Budget. The agent I spoke to did not indicate that there would be any problem with this, but when I arrived at the Roanoke Budget desk there was a sign saying “we cannot honor same-day reservations”, and they did not have a car for me. The Roanoke Budget agent was unhelpful and unsympathetic, and I was not able to reach a representative over the phone. I eventually had to rent a car from Hertz. Budget should not allow reservations to be made if they cannot be kept. I was extremely dissatisfied with this.Reviewed Jul 29 2026
