Appallingly dishonest experience with the insurance offering, and then Europcar is now trying to screw us on the return with a false claim of uncovered damage despite having been pressed into purchasing the highest cost coverage directly from them. I see now why everyone calls car rentals in Europe a complete scam. Single worst customer service experience I have ever had. The clerk at the desk was nice but the car was very dirty on the outside. The inside had grass clippings and personal belongings from someone else on the seats and floors, empty boxes in the cargo area, and there were water bottles of tobacco spit on the floors under the seats.Reviewed Oct 27 2026

Did not receive notice that the rental office at Central Station Trieste closes at 12:30 on Saturday. Had to get to Pula Croatia that day. Plan then became getting to the airport, $60 fare, then renting a Fiat Panda for $420. The inconvenience and extra cost is disgraceful.Reviewed Oct 26 2026

Terrible. Everything with the actually Kayak app worked great and seamlessly. But there’s some kind of lack of communication between kayak and Budget because on Kayak, it showed that there was multiple options available for a rental. But when we arrived for pick up, they not only did not have our reservation on file, they had absolutely nothing available to rent as a walk in. Great gas mileage for a minivan, it was a hybrid! Lots of room for the family. Interior was not cleaned well after the previous renter, and there was a piece of carpet/vinyl missing when one of the back seats was put down to store luggage.Reviewed Oct 25 2026
